Barabus sad back on his haunches and sighed. So many had made the journey to come and speak to him. He had not felt so honored since he was in the army. AS the days trickled on he began to get a bit restless, he wanted to leave with each and every young female who approached him, yet he held off he knew THE ONE he wanted, no needed was coming. Finally he was approached by a, pink and blue, female who promised him a life of companionship and compassion; he did not know why but he knew this daeet was someone he could depend on someone whom he could count on to watch his back.He politely listened as she finished her speech, and he new the time to choose was now. Without a second thought he followed her into the trees. "you told me you'd always have my back, now its my turn to promise to have yours."

Barabus had gone and the hubbub of the war wrecked daeet had passed when the next visitor to the stones showed her face. She gazed at the crowd with half closed tired eyes, She took two steps forward before yawning widely and flopping onto the ground. Darrious let out a low growl at her rudeness and trotted over to the passed out female, he nudged her hardly then spoke to her in a low tone. With a low snarl he lifted his head to address the waiting crowd. "This lazy female is Nell" He paused for a second as if thinking over what to say next. "She is one of the more lazy daeets of the North Faction, and has decided to seek a home elsewhere. This place has gotten too busy for her life of sleep and laziness." He paused once more before continuing, "Though I do not agree with the life she has chosen I wish for Nell to live as happy and healthy of a life as possible. Come greet her!"

Darrious paused for a second watching as the female opened one ruby eye ever so slightly, she was lazy sure, but she would at least hear these people out before truly falling asleep. He continued back to his post as the crowd flooded forwards, even the laziest of Mackthor could find a home it seemed..

Lukina had been sitting in the background of all the going ons, she saw as daeets came and left with the humans they had chosen. She could only hope that a daeet would appear that caught her interest, she sat and waited for Barabus to choose who he would leave with and it seemed to be a difficult choice for him, for it was taking him a long while. Just then a new daeet presented herself before Barabus had chosen. Lukina couldn't help but smile as she gazed upon the sleepy daeet and give a bit of a laugh to herself, standing to her feet she told herself she would go and talk to this sleepy daeet, she also hoped that this daeet named Nell wouldn't fall asleep as she spoke to her. Taking a deep breath she slowly let it out before making her way towards Nell as she came closer to Nell, Lu noticed that none had approached her yet. She thought Nell was quite lovely with her slivery and striped fur, and loved her night cap. Lu stepped carefully and respectfully up to Nell, a warm and friendly smile playing upon her lips, then she bowed deeply.

"Greetings Nell." she started in a kind tone. "My name is Lukina." she gave a warm smile. "I would love it if you chose me as your new companion and friend. I really don't know if I have much to offer that you would like, but I wanted to come and talk to you to see if I did." Lu told Nell in a soft tone. "I can offer you a loyal and loving friend who will be there when you need one. I can offer you a shoulder to cry on when your heart is hurting and an ear to listen when you need to talk. I can also offer you a warm bed to rest in for as long as you desire or even a lap if that is what you wish." she said kindly with a warm smile still upon her lips. "And when you're hungry, I'll have a meal ready to fill your empty belly." Lu gave a little laugh at the end of what she had spoke. She fell silent as she thought about if there was anything more she could say to Nell, something came to mind and it made her smile as she looked up at Nell. "If you ever need something or someone to cuddle with during your sleep, I can offer either a teddy bear or other animal of your choice, or even myself if you wish. I love to have an stuffed animal or something warm and furry to cuddle with a nap time or bed time............. I'll leave now and let you think and talk to the others." Lu took a few steps back from Nell and bowed deeply once more to the lovely and sleepy daeet. "Thank you for hearing what I had to say and I hope you find the one that's right for you." she spoke kindly, then rose and walked away from Nell to wait her decision calmly.

"Hello. The name's Sorrnell. I'm currently fifteen hundred years of age, and reside in Elysian, the abode of the immortals. I'm a half-spirit - my mom's a spirit and my dad's a deity. Currently I'm seeking a friend with a personality similar to mine - my siblings are annoying me too much. So I'll venture into the Flatwhite; what's there to lose?"

The girl shrank into the ebony velvet cloak draped around her as she studied the strange surroundings. Her honey-hued eyes were wide with fear, and she occasionally reached up a pale hand to gently stroke the opal brooch that held her cloak together. Fire flickered and danced beneath the milky-white surface of the precious gem whenever she touched it, and a faint pink tinge would darkened her blue-white fingers.

She cautiously made her way across the landscape, which was shrouded with a strange substance whiter than snow - the light reflected off the sterile color hurt her eyes. She felt none of the substance; in fact, it was akin to light - no smell, no texture, no temperature.

The girl told herself fiercely, "I'll be brave. I am brave, and I'm an explorer." These words calmed her jitters a little, though she was scared out of her wits. In Flatwhites, once you entered, you had to walk until you see another dimesion. And the girl - a half-spirit - was rash enough to sneak off from her home, steal her father's Summoning Opal and venture into the Flatwhite. A tear rolled down her cheek as she sluggishly dragged her feet forward, and she lifted a hand to wipe it away, sniffing and choking as she tried to stop sobbing.

Helpless. Alone. Lost. I gave up trying to stop the tears and just let them flow until my eyes went dry. Instead I concentrated on blanking my mind and tried not to think of whatever land I would end up in.

I jumped as four tall pillars rose out of the Flatewhite, and the dull landscape was flooded with color. The green floor gave a shuddering heave and grass rose out of it; shades of blue washed over the bleak sky and what was left of the whiteness inflated like yeast-added bread dough, then softened into fluffy clouds.

My heart sang with joy and relief as I realized that I was in the Place of Five Stones in the land of Daeets: Mackthor. I was safe here in this neutral land, and I barely suppressed a chain of hysterical giggles when the chance of finding a new companion bloomed before me. There was Darrious, as usual, and...a female with brilliant ruby eyes who fitted better into the scene of a comfortable feather bed rather than this mountaintop. Darrious seemed incensed by her lazy, sleepy attitude, but still introduced her.

Nell. Her name was Nell. A smile brightened my alabaster face as irony beamed at me. My name is Sorrnell; and we had so much in common. True, I was lazy, in fact the laziest sibling in the family. I spent most of my time lounging around on the couch, eating ambrosia pudding, or just plopping on the bed to count the strands of my light brown hair until I fell asleep. I was kept fit and slim only by the occasional adventures and games which involved running around and bursting throats with screams of excitement.

I took a deep breath, taking in the form of the gray-patterned female, and stepped forward.

"Hey, Nell," I said loudly, my fingers yet again touching the Summoning Opal which acted also as a brooch for my cloak. "I'm Sorrnell, which is kind of ironic because of the last part, ha ha. Most people call me Sorry, which is really amusing, but I'm okay with it."

I quit the introduction and went on, "I'm a couch potato though I'm not a potato. I bet sound really confusing, so I'll explain: a couch potato likes to stick to a couch and, well, laze about. I really understand the sleepy side of you, though. Don't you agree that sleep is quite the best?"

I grinned, and continued, "You get transported to other worlds in dreams and nightmares, and you can get away from the business of the world, which is pretty much fast-paced these days. Oops, I must be boring you. Surely you know all of this already." I coughed, embarrassed, and said meekly, "If you come with me, Nell, I'll give you the best of life. I'm a half-spirit, you see, so I get to eat heavenly foods - take ambrosia for example. I'm sure my family is willing to share it with you, and the taste is just WOW. If you feel like it you can play games with me or my siblings, and if you don't you can do whatever you like, except for getting into trouble." I smiled.

"I'll be a best friend to you, too. I understand your attitude perfectly; so similar is it to mine!"

"So I bid my farewell to you for now, Nell. Sweet dreams." With that, I curtseyed, waved and melted into the crowd.
