light grey femme

Postby die Lille » Thu Jul 25, 2013 11:09 pm

okay... this si a hard decision... and I cannot make her in total yet....

first thoughts on entries:
@foxtrot101: it's a very touching and sad story... but it's somehow not the way I see this girl

@immywimmy: a very unique story told out of the view of yourself as the adopting human.... but I don't like to go and shop puppies (atleast for the foundation dogs)

@wowhow: another very sad story but still with an individual touch on it... but as I said above.... I don't picture her as that

I'm sorry to tell you that you three didn't win! But thank you anyways for your amazing and fun to read storries!!!!

so.... still three entries up I really like and I cannot decide which one of these top three is the best... so I decided to hold a sub contest between
Paw-print (Dog trainer), Natsumi Chikako and GingerTheWolf

please post a picture of something, you think would describe her personality best... (can be animal, food, any object, a landscape, everything!!)
and tell me your thoughts behind the picture!

okay.... since you all waited that long.... tanks for your patience and playing this game with me =)
the new owner will be:

name of the dog: Jazz

story:
One day, Jazz was wandering down the street when she came to a stop at a local Jazz cafe. She was so hungry, she managed to pluck up the courage to go in. There, the jazz cafe took her in, fed her, watered her and washed her. But now they're looking for a home for her, I hope it can be with me! ^^

thoughts behind the pic:

The reason I gave Jazzy girl this pic is because these drinks are all mine and Jazz will be all mine and I love all of these drinks AND I WILL LOVE JAZZY AHEM. I mean its because she always has bundles of fun and energy, as if she has drunk these drinks! Racing about the fields near her home, she loveS her life <3

From the glint in her eye to the flick of her tail, this gorgeous girl is happiest when she is up and about :) This description isn't long because I am speechless

I LOVE YOU JAZZ

storry:

This light grey female spent a small amount of her life in a nice home with a loving family or a family that appeared loving. A year or two after she was brought home, she ended up in a shelter. It was cold and unforgiving; she did get to see the other dogs once a day but they were nothing close to a family. Soon days, weeks, almost months went by and she felt she wasn't going to escape this place. One day, the door leading to the dog section opened to reveal a girl. The dogs in the kennels next to the gray female jumped up, wagged their tails and would bark happily. She sat at the back of her own and watched the girl pass by, looking at her but what surprised the female was that the girl returned. The deerhound moved to the kennel door and wagged her tail some, gently licking the girl's hand. "This one!" chimed the girl. Before the female knew it, she was in a new home with a new collar and a nametag that read "Survivor".

name of the dog: Ghost Pepper (or ghost for short)
gender: female
height: 68 cm
coat: light grey with dark socking
story: Ghost Pepper was brought into Haven Human Society after officers came to investigate a call by a curious neighbor. Ghost had been chained up, along with her 2 brothers, to a broken wall. Dehydrated and starved Ghost and her brothers were barely alive. Covered in scars and with deep cuts one of the brothers had to be put down. Socks, Ghost's other brother, was adopted two weeks ago by a loving family. Ghost Pepper had a couple raw spots, flea bites, 3 hot spots, and a broken tail. All have been treated for and the fur has mostly grown back. Ghost is slowly making her recovery and but still has trouble with men with long braids. She is back to normal weight and is no longer dehydrated though she will need to have pills for the next couple months.

gender:

story:
I marched forth down the road with no end, struggling to see through the black curtain that blocked my path with uncertainty. Already I'd been traveling for two moons with no recollection of stopping, too focused on trying to escape from a reality that didn't exist. You could say I was the typical pup, making a mountain out of a mole hill and make-believing that my life was far worse than it truly was.
My mother used to always say that I was too smart for my own good and that I should just dumb down a bit, do as she says. She wanted me to be one of those show dogs who always have their nose in the air. What's with that? I always thought all the interesting smells were on the ground. Meanwhile they're getting blue ribbons pinned to their collars and I'm walking into walls. I didn't belong among them. That's why I ran away.

I wanted to be a family dog: protector of the home and man's best friend. I could picture it all even now with the rain pouring down like a litter of pups piling onto my back. There'd be a lush green yard to be dug up, a dog bowl that was always filled to the brim, and a bed to sleep at the foot of. And the family would love me, faults and all. Sure they'd be upset with every one of my attempts to find the world's largest bone buried beneath their yard, but that's what your typical dog does.

"Dalton, look!" A female voice spoke softly, causing my head to jerk towards her general direction. There was both a girl and boy, siblings, standing side by side. You know, I had to wonder what the heck these humans were thinking... it was storming for Pete's sake! The girl, her face covered with her black hood, bent down and patted her knees. "Come here girl."

I cocked my head, a single ear perked as I watched curiously. Each time she tried calling me over, I grew more and more excited. I couldn't explain what I felt within that moment, but I knew that this had to be what the show dogs meant when they said that every performance gave them an indescribable rush. My heart pounded against my chest like a woodpecker desperate to drill his home within a tree. My mind? As jumbled about as an abstract painting: meant to be a mess, but almost asking to be straightened.

"Anika!"

From that moment on, I was no longer nameless. I was given a name in which meant sweet-faced.
But more importantly: I was given the home I dreamed of.
