Wintertide is a smart, responsible pony who cares deeply for her job of creating shooting stars. She is almost nocturnal in her ways, and prefers to stay up late at night, and sleep late into the day. This makes her somewhat of a social loner, as she lacks the opportunities to go out and socialize with her neighbors during the day. While she is not awkward in her speech, she tends to be shy, so even when she does get the chance to go to a late night party, she often choose not to because of her fears of loud noises and large crowds. Winny is never seen without her hat, infinity scarf or leg warmers, even in the summer. They are like a security blanket for her, one that she can carry around with her without questions asked. The accessories were given to her by her late mother, who died when she was 16. They were a gift for her fifth birthday, after she had received her cutie mark earlier than the rest of her classmates. Although her classmates did not dislike her for this, Winny choose to remove herself from the group because of fear that she might be bullied. This is what originally prompted her to switch her sleeping schedule and maintain it so that she would be awake at night to do her job. Nowadays you can normally find her curled up with a good book in a small cabin on the mountain, about a 15 minute walk from town. And, if you're lucky, at night you may get the chance to see her horn glow to make that special star dart across the sky.
Talent:
Wintertide's talent is to create shooting stars. While she doesn't create the stars themselves, each night she chooses a handful of stars from the sky which, using an ancient spell from Starswirl the Bearded she discovered in a book as a child, she moves across the sky. She can only move about 3 or so each night, so finding one is very rare. This is what makes them so special and why ponies all around Equestria wish on one whenever they are able to see one's bright flash across the sky.
