Oh these are so gorgeous Sorren, I love Painted Wild Dogs. :)

I guess I'll bide my time and try my luck next time adoptions are open...I've never owned a unique adoptable before. ^^ That would be so cool. :3

{you have to fill out a form and i don't think the ones up are new}

    Some legends are told
Some turn to dust or to gold
    But you will remember me
    Remember me for centuries

    Mummified my teenage dreams
    No, nothing wrong with me
    The kids are all wrong,
    The stories are off
    Heavy metal broke my heart

Sleep, hunt, rest, drink, eat, sleep, drink, watch, hunt, rest, eat, sleep.

Sleep away the morning, hunt for the pack, rest after a long run, drink to rehydrate, eat your fill, sleep away the afternoon, drink because everyone else is, watch the pups for the alpha, hunt a lizard that kept annoying you, rest just to be lazy, eat what the pack brought back to you, sleep for the night.

It was a beautiful dream. Something soft, and warm. Not too warm though. Not warm enough to hurt, like the heat outside. It was blue. It was light grey and dark blue. Something salty. Salty and warm, light grey and dark blue. It was a beautiful, warm, blue, grey, salty, wonderful dream.

Hunting went as usual. The ground was hot. The sky was hot. The air was hot. Tongues hung out to keep cool. Ears and tails swatted away flies. Prey hid behind dry bushes. Their sides moved slowly, hiding their young behind sharp horns and hooves. Drool slid down the edge of my lip. Hunting was difficult. Patience was difficult. // Alpha wimpered softly, our que to run. I love to run. The wind past my ears blocks out all sound, I rely on my eyes and my instincts to tell me what to do. Dirt flies. Dust clouds my sight and I forget what to do. Alpha nips my leg, and I jump back in the hunt. The prey's hide gets caught in my jaws. The prey falls at the paws of another pack member. They grab the throat. The prey struggles as I watch. The prey is still.

Everyone is full. The prey was large and will last for several days. The air is hot. The sky is hot. The ground is hot. My paws are dirty. My muzzle is wet. Wet and red. Blood from the prey keeps my nose cool. Alpha takes me for a run. A nice, long run. Hot sand. Hot sky. Soft Alpha. Soft breath. Soft shade when we return.

The pack walks a lot. I love to walk. New places, new scents. Today is not a new place. Today is the banks of the river. Cold water. Soft cold water. We walk away. Tal was lost last time. We remember.

Hot prey. Hot stomach. Cool shade. Hot air, hot sky, hot ground. Alpha lays with me. Alpha cleans the blood from my muzzle. Her tongue is warm. Warm, not hot. When she is done my muzzle is cool. My stomach is full. I don't want to get up. I lay for so long that the sun falls. Cool air. Cool sky. Cool ground. Warm Alpha.

I love that dream.

Pups are loud. Pups play. Pups drink. Pups sleep. One day they will be more than just pups. They will lead the pack when Alpha and I are gone. I think I am the only one who realizes this. I watch the pups learn. I show the pups how to run fast. Pups follow me to the river bank. I bite them if they get too close the water. Pups shouldn't end up like Tal. Tal was warm. Now Tal sits in the water, cold. Pups follow me back to the prey. We sleep.

Alpha and the pack arrive. We walk. Hot ground, hot sky, hot air. My paws are dirty again. Tan lizard. Rough tan lizard. I remember, I touched it. Hot lizard. It was easy to kill. Easy to catch, easy to eat. It was an awful lizard. It followed me. // The pack stops. I rest. My paws are always dirty. My nose is cool and clean. Alpha doesn't look at me. She's busy watching. Sometimes I think she forgets where we are. There is nothing to watch. It doesn't stop her from looking.

The pack leaves. Pups stay with me. Alpha is still watching. The sun is falling again. The pack brings back something big. I don't know what to call it. The prey was hot. It ran a lot before dying. Alpha and I eat first. When the prey is gone we play. Pups like me. They grow fast. Pups don't know how strong they are. Alpha bites them when they play too rough.

Cool ground, cool sky, cool air. Warm Alpha, warm pack, warm puppies.
