Sila

..I...finally...did...it... OuO

May I introduce you? This is my fursona, Sila, who's been by my side for over 1,5 years now. I've been wanting to introduce her to CS for so long, but I've never been satisfied enough with my drawings of her to actually take the step and post it, well, until now. ^_^
She's a white (well, veeeeeeeery very very light cream) Saluki girl. Yep, there's no fancy markings on her or anything unusual/unnatural except for her blue eyes (Salukis usually only have brown/hazel eyes).

As for the term "fursona", I am using it since I'm lacking a better term to describe what she really is. Fursona seems very close, but to me she feels like...well, more than that. She's not just a random animal I thought of to express my online-self, but it seems like there's a deeper connection. Something like a soulmate? Spirit animal? Who knows...
Whatever she is, she came to me. I didn't "make" her, I just randomly had the idea of a Saluki in my head (fursona-wise, back then), never thought it would fit, looked it up and was amazed, tried to make a design but in my head she always was white, so here we go. Some people say that a person cannot choose a Saluki, but that a Saluki chooses a person...I'm convinced. :3

Of course she does resemble me, but it goes beyond that, she does not just represent the character traits and personality that I expressively have, but also the potentials that lie within me, that I could work on and turn them into real traits. Example? Salukis are known for holding man's gaze for quite a while, unlike most other dog breeds. I, in reality, do not like looking people in the eyes, I'm not even 100% sure why, I just feel awkward. I guess it's just because I can be somewhat shy and aloof (typical for Salukis ;)). Sila reminds me that deep inside me, I do have the potential to hold people's gaze, I have actually been working on it already and improving, and she motivates me.

Well, I guess regardless of how many things I want to say about her, I should probably stop talking you guys to death. ;D

No references used, but been stalking Saluki pics on google a lot (already before I drew this).
Timer is off, I had the tab open without working on it a lot of times.
Please do not copy/steal Sila or the picture in any way. Thanks! ;)

This is really beautiful, Imagine! And FYI, I've also been working on holding my gaze with others since I'm really shy too... -staring contest-

I'm pretty sure that it's clear that I've been extremely inactive all of these months, but that's because I had a lot of things happening in my family at that time as well as school and finals. I'm sorry that I never got the time to PM any of you or write this until now. I will still come on, but it will be very rare, I'm sad to say. I love you guys--I always will <3

Thanks ^^ I just imagined a staring contest between two people who can't hold gazes...both starting to shake, going "Aaaargh that pain!"
I'm just really glad I'm not the only one with that "problem", though ;)

wow... I mean, not "wow" at just the drawing (don't get me wrong, it's amazing! O.O) but also "wow" at how you were able to describe your thoughts so well into words...
Personally, I think I'm not good with words... and staring contests, too.

I share my computer with Lisan_2. We are sisters and sometimes make unfair trades. Please don't ban us.

I'm very sorry if I don't reply much to PMs, posts, or trades, but I'm quite inactive and considering quitting CS for personal reasons.

Amazing, both art and Thea image you panted with words. I think there is a term for what you meant by more then a fursona, something like other skin. I love how you see your sona and how you found her. Oddly enough after making my own sona, who is mostly fox with a bit of cat tossed in, I remembered as a little kid I use to always imagine a fox running along any vehicle I was riding in, not sure why it was a fox as I had no connections with foxes but I did, and it kinda mystified me that years later I would return to foxes. One of those things that just makes you wonder.
