If your rune had a theme song, what would it be?
Awesome Question! I actually have all my Rune's 'theme songs' on my Rune Dragon Thread. Since I find music extremely inspiring, and I'm always writing and drawing to music, so all my Runes have a set couple of songs that I listen to while I draw them or write about them. Some of them I had their themes picked out as I wrote up their forms, as in Eidolon and Osraige's cases. Others took a while before I decided they even
had a theme song. And a lot of their theme songs changed over time, or might even be in the middle of being changed now.
Mariana's theme is
“Our Story” by melodysheep. I listen to so many different kinds of music while I write her, it took me a while to find the right 'theme' for her. But I always go back to melodysheep's Symphony of Science when I'm writing or drawing her for some reason. The reason why is probably a long story. This particular song may seem a little odd as a theme for a Deep Sea Rune at first, as it's science/electronic based music and not really related to the ocean – but the fast pace just makes me think of the fast pace of survival in the ocean, the struggle of survival and the beauty of nature and science and human ingenuity – all things Mariana appreciates.
Eidolon's theme song is
“Kelpie” by Jethro Tull. Obvious, of course, but I'm actually thinking I might change it to The Red Hot Chilli Pipers' rendition of
"Smoke on the Water". Bagpipes and rock music: What more could a Kelpie Rune want?

(Seriously Eidolon's an old school Rock Rune in my mind. XP)
Ceallach's is easy. It's
"The Book of Kells" by Bruno Coulais. I
love that film's soundtrack. If it has to be an actual
song, maybe "Out There" from Disney's 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' soundtrack. Don't know why, it doesn't make sense, but I have this weird image in my head of Ceallach ringing bells and singing that song for some strange reason. But then I have weird images like that popping into my head all the time (Like Runes in aviator's hats flying to the 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines' theme song, for example).
Lóegaire's has always been
“Warriors” by Ronan Hardiman. To be honest, I've listened to that song so many times I'm kind of tired of it. XP Again, if it has to be a
song song, his theme would be
“United We Stand” from 'Quest for Camelot'. I think it represents a lot of what Lóegaire stands for. Plus, I just like the song. I like the way it sounds, I like what the lyrics say. It's simple, and to the point, and sort of musicalesque.
Hal's theme is hard, because there's a ton of awesome old sailor songs that are perfect for him. I have a whole playlist of them which I just put on when I'm doodling Hal. "Lowlands Low" is one of my favorite to listen to while drawing him, as well as a collection of traditional Irish reels, and of course "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot. But for his theme I'd have to go with the Irish Rebel song,
“The Rising of the Moon”. I couldn't tell you why, to be honest. It always just seemed to fit him. (I love the Dubliners, by the way. If Hal could have a theme band, it would probably be the Dubliners.)
As for little Osraige, he has two themes. His "action" theme is
"Lightning Strike" by Snow Patrol (And I
still haven't seen 'Epic'! I am so mad at myself!) and his main quieter theme is
"Little Jack Frost" by Kate Rusby. I don't know why, but those two have always just stood out to me as his themes, even though they are pretty different in tone. The second one especially - I like the imagery in it, especially if you imagine little Osraige, wandering through the snowy wood. ^^ I think I actually did some thumbnail sketches of that. I don't know where they got too, though.
Ah, I talk too much. XP What about everyone else?
