No.

You're allowed to use a previously adopted cheetah, yes, or one non-cheetah character, but it's not required. It's possible to win without ever adopting a cheetah previously.

Desired cheetah: Bleu
Writing entry:
Bleu
By: Magicly

A breeze tickled the trees as a flying creature raced the wind. Unseen to the human eye it could do any thing. Its green wings stretched out to its limit, as it drifted with the wind. Magic seemed to make such a sight enchanting. But its not magic, its not even a Illinoisan. Its real, his name is Bleu.
He dived threw the air. Not caring what or who watched him. His wings sparkled in the sun. He felt peaceful and happy. Near by birds chirped a greeting to him as he flew. He did circles and twists it made him look like a dancer in the summer sky. The sun invited him in as he jumped from cloud to cloud. He loved the feeling of the sun. The warmth it gave him. The sun was his best friend, his only friend. But he was okay with that. He loved the wind and the sky. Once the night fell upon the land he took shelter under the starry sky. The stars twinkled and shot across it, like race horses in the kentucky durby. He loved to think that’s were he was going to be when his time came. To be a star to dance in the endless sky.

With Fairy Dust! I think there kittens would be really cute, and quite interesting :D (i hope thats ok because i dont own any cheetahs to breed with Bleu)
2. As is please. I love how he looks and i dont think i could wait for him to grow ;)
3. I love his name and his gender. I dont not think he has to change. Hes perfect the way he is.
4. He will be my first cheetah and i think he sooo adorable. Hes has a very cool look (seriously) i love to draw with colors like his. If he does become mine he will always have a speacial place in my siggy. And every one will know who he is and how much i love him (well most people any way). I aslo had a imangenary friend named Blue and thought that was really cool.

Magicly, I hate to burst your buble, but it's impossible to breed with Jubilee. She's marked as one of the non-breedable cheetahs -her name is in italics.

Couples whose names appear in italics cannot be bred together or alone.

Ah, so much love for Bleu. <3 You guys are really cheering me up. I don't particularly care for him, so I'll be glad to see him go to someone who does.

Simba - I love that! Must make my own version at some point. (Although it doesn't make much sense, seeing as Nikolai, uh. Is a cheetah. <_<)

:: Desired cheetah ::
Afra. <3

:: Writing entry ::
The egg shook gingerly and the mother cheetah slinked around it. This egg was different; the feline inside was too loyal, too joyous for a cat. It acted like a dog; a stingy mongrel. The mother scowled at the egg and squeezed it with her tail. She trotted around the safari and plopped the egg on a grass patch. She left it there to die.

Somehow this egg bared the heat, and managed to stay safe. This egg hatched, with complication, yes; but still the same she hatched. The cheetah, born through the egg, was Afra. She did not know it yet, but she was Afra just the same.

At first when Afra hatched and was able to see and hear, she was lonely; she felt forgotten and unknown. The world around her seemed vicious and unbearable for a newborn kit. She was scared; scared of everything. Her life was zipped up in an exit less ball. She didn't go near anything but water, and only ever managed to eat the fruit off of trees and the grass off of the ground. Sometimes she could catch a baby mouse or two, but that was very rare; sometimes Afra forgot they even existed.

She closed her eyes to drink from the watering holes because she was scared of her own reflection. Her nose was always crinkled up, her eyes always tingling with fear; Afra did not like this face therefore she did not look at it. Scaring yourself is always the worst of all; it proves you’re lonely because you have no one else to frighten.

As time passed, Afra grew up not knowing who she was or what. Her name lingered in her head very faintly. 'Meetala.' She was not sure how she got this name. Did someone give it t her? If so, who was it? Herself, a stranger, her mother? Her mother. She hated her mother. She abandoned her; Afra knew that much. At this child stage of life she was hateful. She wanted meat for the sake of killing something, or knowing that something had been killed. She would stomp on the mice that wandered to close to her, and snarl at the birds above.

She was a killer; and she knew it. She would chase animals as fast as she could for the longest time, and tackle them with perfect knowledge of when and how. Somehow, she was stronger than most cheetahs born from eggs. She could run faster and longer than a normal cheetah egg feline or and regular cheetah themselves.

One day, when doing her regular "run-and-tackle" routine, she spotted hyenas. She always had a certain soft-spot for canines, but today she was fuming. She had been pushed around by elephants and giraffes; literally kicked by them. But they were too big to take down. She decided she would kill the first thing that dared to enter her field of sight.

The hyenas glanced over at her and cackled their mangy laughs. They giggled and chuckled loudly as the stalked over to her, low to the ground.

"Poor cat, you’re so thin; let us put you out of your misery," they cooed together. Their voices were high and devious; Afra wanted to run away.

Her age had only risen with her personality, and now she considered herself a teen. She was scared and sorry to everything; almost a repeat of her first stage of life.

The hyenas closed in on their kill, desperate for food. Suddenly, Afra bolted. She lunged over the heads of the slinking mutts and she ran, each paw barely hitting the ground. The hyenas were just as fast. They were right on her tail and one cracked a joke.

"Your tail's too long, cat. You run like a dog; with that long tail trailing behind ya', someone's sure to snap it off!" The others laughed evilly.

"C'mon, let's demonstrate..." They whispered with no hint of humor in their voices. The pack zoomed closer to her tail and snap, snap, snap! went her long, lean, body part. Bits of fur swirled in the winds and some of the dogs hopped up and nipped the fur with their strong jaws.

Afra squealed in horror, her tail now a medium-sized stub. She skidded around making a u-turn, making all the hyenas run into each other. She ran faster than ever before, her front paws, the only things touching the ground, propelling her forward.

~*~

The stars littered the sky with their brightness. The moon was full and an orangey shade, notifying the two-legs that it was time to harvest. It lit up the whole safari, except the rock haven that Afra hid in. It was pitch-black and bats lined the walls sleeping restlessly. She was petrified of the hyenas; they had bit off her tail! She groaned in pain, trying not to wake the bats. She licked her tail sadly and scurried off to fetch some herbs and plants to wrap her tail in.

She still needed to eat and drink some water, so she padded up to the watering hole. It wasn't far of considering the fact that she had walked quite a ways looking for her supplies. She bent over the water, and for the first time in her life she kept her eyes open. She saw her whole entire body at once. She was surprised to see that she was the things she didn't want to be; ugly.

Her fur was short and roughed up; dirt was matted in it along with dried blood from previous cuts and scrapes. She had bumps all along her sides from swelling bruises. Patches of fur were missing and revealing her skin proving won battles. She was very thin, and it looked like she had been starved. Her legs were lean allowing her to run quickly.

She wasn’t angry. She wasn’t dejected with her appearance. She wasn’t scared. For once in her life she was content. She knew that she had lived through dogs biting off her tail. Couldn’t she survive anything now? She wasn’t scared; she had been through so much today. What else should scare her? She had been sadder than how sad she could be now. Why should she be sad with this?

She was happy. Actually pleased. She curled up near the watering hole and for once in her life, she slept peacefully. Another first.

~*~

Afra awoke slowly and stood up to stretch. She yawned and glanced around. She looked at her reflection again. She looked terrible. She needed to eat. She sat down in a patch of grass and thought.

No; she was tired of waiting for the kill. Today, she would make the game wait for her. She stood up and bolted towards the field where the zebra herd often lingered. They were there as expected and Afra scanned the clearing. The young were far enough away from the adults that she could snatch one.

This was still her first time hunting though, she didn’t know about the fact that the zebras’ intriguing pattern would confuse the predator and make them lose sight of their kill and then get trampled.

And that’s exactly what happened. Afra turned her head and noticed a black and white blob hurdling towards her. She braced herself and was stomped upon. Once the animals were gone, she stood up- lucky to be alive- and limped back to the watering hole to see the damage.

There were red hoof prints all over her side. She figured she must have many broken ribs, and the way she was limping, a broken leg. She stumbled over to a boulder wall and fell against it. She took deep breaths and closed her eyes. She laid there waiting for a mouse to scamper by.

~*~

Afra awoke abruptly and glanced all around her. African Wild Dogs surrounded her numb body. Afra winced and hissed silently at them.

“Are you hurt?” One of the pups asked. Afra let go of a long and sickening groan. The pups flinched and ran off. Afra was left alone to die for the second time in her life; except this time, she wouldn’t make it. Or so she thought. The pups returned with another dog twice their size. She checked all over Afra and gasped.

“This poor thing has four broken ribs, three on one side and one on the other. She also has a broken leg, the front left. C’mon kids, help your mother out,” the female African Wild Dog ordered. The pups shuffled over and helped lift Afra up.

Afra became joyous and was suddenly loyal to these creatures; too loyal for a cat, too joyous for one, too. Finally, she fit her mother’s description.

“I’m Ka darlin’, everything’s gonna be alright, I promise. What’s your name, girl?” Ka questioned Afra lightly. The she-cat looked up in wonder and answered her hoarsely.

“To be truthful with you, I have no idea. I was abandoned as an egg and lived alone for my whole life once I hatched.” Ka nodded as if she understood. Egg? she thought to herself.

“Well, we’ll take good care of you darlin’. All of us.” The fours pups beamed at Afra and smiled happily. The slow rocking of the canines’ weird pace soon lured Afra to sleep once again, and the heat of the sun acting like a warm blanket.

‘Sleep well, darlin’’ was the last thing she heard before she nodded off into a deep slumber.

~*~

Afra’s ribs were sore and her leg was throbbing, but all the love that circled her this fine morning kept her pleased. She was able to walk on her own now, just with slight discomfort in her chest. She spoke to the pups of her life and how she changed in so many ways, and how her tail came to be. They laughed because Afra’s tail was the same length as theirs. Afra laughed, too, in which she ordered everyone to stop because it hurt her ribs; which of course only made everyone laugh harder.

The African Wild Dogs’ laughs were sweet and inviting, happy and light unlike the hyenas’. The laughs soothed Afra’s mind and soul and let her know she was safe here. Finally she was not alone.

The canines were very good at hunting. They came back with food every night. Their diet consisted of zebra, wildebeest, leftover dead elephants, and anything else they could find. Afra ate well every night and soon became plump. Not quite over-weight, but perfect.

Her fur began to grow back because there was no more stress, and her wounds became to heal as well as her bruises began to disappear. She rolled in the watering hole to clean herself off, to rid of the dirt.

One day, when bathing, she looked at her reflection. Her entire color pattern had changed dramatically. She now looked exactly like one of the dogs; and she was beautiful. She swished her now fully healed tail and realized; I am a dog. A very good dog. And she was happy.

A happy cat to be a dog.

~*~

“Honey, I think it’s time you have a name,” Ka exclaimed. The pups, who were now yearlings, nodded in agreement.

“I can’t believe I’ve lived so long without one,” Afra joked. The yearlings giggled.

“How about Afra? Put our names together and we’re Africa, darlin’. How’s that?” Ka cocked her head. Afra nodded as she smiled and stood up.

“I am Afra; a joyous, loyal cheetah.”

“You are Afra; a joyous, loyal African Wild Dog,” everyone sang together.

And how true it was.

I actually have more than one drawing entry. One is her as an egg, and just to get a feel of her habitat and look. I have one of her in her natural habitat as her full grown self. Then, I might upload one more that I have; it's an uncolored image of her in the scene where the hyenas are messing with her. If I don't finish them time, please just judge the images I have done. :3

Afrabitat
Afrabitat is a picture as Afra as an egg if she had looked like an African Wild Dog her whole life. Really, her egg should be more of a beige with black and white swirls just like her mother, but I decided to make her look like an African Wild Dog even as an egg. C:
It's called Afrabitat because it's Afra in her habitat. Cheesy name; I know. D8

Home
Home is a picture as Afra in her homeland. This is the original picture that truly suits the contest. There is a mesa-ih thing in the picture, it's like a minute canyon in one piece. The trees were supposed to look more like yuccas, but my foliage is terrible. xP Anywho, I tried my best, and it was colored with Blicks' markers. C:

More pictures to come! ;3

Answers to Q&A:

1.

Well, I was thinking maybe breeding her with Madame Lotus' Fureur. I thought the outcome would be amazing. The colors don't match one bit, which would make the cubs more...contrasting; which is very good! I think the cubs would make some eyes pop. ^^ The tail of Fureur is cool since he has Toothless' leather strap to help him fly. Afra has a short tail, and I'm dreaming about a short dragon-tail with the strap on it. o3o The wings would make everything so interesting.
I thought maybe the offspring would look like Afra just with a darker pallet and a longer tail.

2.
Hmm, that's a tricky one. I love to watch the eggs go through their stages, yet Afra is so beautiful; I don't think it would bug me. But, I'm really wondering what her newborn stage would look like. And since I haven't seen a bob-tail newborn before (I was camping when the bob-tail cheetahs were growing), I think it would be cool to see the linearts. I want to see what you guys would do with the egg, too. Her African Wild Dog design would look so cool on one.
So, I'd probably want a growing Afra. C:

I have...
One growing cheetah.
One growing mystery egg cheetah.
One growing custom. (Not yet)
One full grown cheetah.

I don't know if this would count against my total growing cheetahs since it's a contest cheetah, but I don't think it would. Please tell me if I'm wrong. ;3

3.
Oh no, her name is far to fit for her design. African wild dog/Afra. Afra sounds like African, it's too perfect. I like her gender, too. The design I would say is a bi-gender design. She could be a boy or a girl, really. But I like just how she is, and in real life, you are who you are. ;3
And plus, her African Wild Dog mother's name is Ka, Afra + Ka = Africa. 8D

4.
Well, this cheetah inspires me. Everytime I look at her, I think of the safari and all its trees and plants. I think of hyenas and elephants, jackals and cheetahs, and the African sun-set. All these things paint a picture in my mind and keep me content; and Afra is the cause.
She would most likely become a character with given credit to you guys. I would draw her along with my other CE cheetahs and put her in stories. Stories is probably what I'd do the most, because I love to write. <3 She would have her own little mini-series along with her friends that I would create.
I think I would be capable of caring for her because I have cheetahs already. :3

I'm drooling over those thoughts. xP/8D

~*~

Thank you for allowing me as well as the others the capability to perhaps own Afra.

I was writing for over an hour and I clicked 'preview' and then my internet went out. Bye-bye hour worth or writing. >.>;;
Anyways, I hope my story's alright. Are there to many characters in it?
fffft
I don't know, sorry. D8 The amount of characters in the rules is confusing to me. xP

Desired cheetah:
Kachina

Writing entry:
Kachina is different from most nature spirits. Her intelligence and bravery is unquestionable; yet her compassion for humanity is what some might see as a fault. No matter what the people do, she forgives them. She blesses them when they are weak, and is understanding when they disgrace the spirits. She whispers words of comfort to those in pain, and doesn't hesitate to go to every one of their dances and cerimonies. Her connection with them runs deeper than the great oceans. But by herself, she would be weak. When left on my own, I would be weak. We need each other; for together we are a united force.
You see, we share the same soul. I am Kwa, the great Eagle spirit, as is Kachina. I am her, and she is me; in a way.
The Eagle spirit was once called Kwahu. It controlled its compassionate side and its firm, harsh side. For some reason, Kwahu split one day, the mix of emotions too much for it to handle. The forgiving side of it was forced out; leaving only me, Kwa, to occupy this body. The other emotions formed into a female cheetah; the very Kachina that I speak of now. We are, therefore, alter-spirits. Together we are the lords of the East, and together we are able to make decisions. One might say that we rely on each other too much; but shouldn't one be self-dependent? We are, after all, the same being.

- - - - -

To the creature walking, her pawsteps carried her silently across the ground; her eyes, as dark as night, focused on only one ofther being.
To the small girl kneeling on the dirt ground; her deformed legs splayed uselessly under her; the spirit that walked across the noisy Kiva was nothing more than a faint red tint to the steadily blowing wind. The girl seemed to sense the ancient pressence, her dark eyes wide with both terror and excitement.
Kachina's black eyes seemed to mirror the girl's, but her's were full of only pity. This child, one of her people, did not deserve what had happened to her. Only this thought surged through the cheetah's mind as she skirted the fire and chanting dancers. For the moment, they didn't matter.
The discolored patch of air shimmered and traveled across the circular room to the girl, who could do nothing more but stare in awe; the firelight flickering across her stunned features.
Then, Kachina was there. She bent her head, brushing her muzzle across the girl's forhead, and murmured...
"Heal. You have followed me, and for that you are gifted," the wind seemed to whisper. With the words came a cool breeze across the child's forehead, and she closed her eyes in wonder.
Kachina retreated, not staying to see if the girl had arisen yet or not. She didn't need to, for the sudden joyful shouts of the people told her that she had done her duty well.

Energy. Energy all around her. The trees radiated it; their spirits humming in harmony with those of the clouds, sky, and ground. A happy purr rumbled in Kachina's throat, her tail waving behind as though it was a conductor's baton, creating music from nature. Her black paws carried her across the bright, sun-dappled grass as though it was nothing but air. Happiness flickered through Kachina's mind when she thought of the girl that she had healed; the girl she had healed when none of the spirits would. You can't blame Kwa, he did not choose to accept Kwahu's harsher feelings. Still, a pang of sadness hit her when she thought of her soul-partner. Kwa treated her wonderfully; yet seemed to be unwilling to bestow his softer side on anyone else. As sudden cry pierced through the morning sky above her; and she turned her head upwards to see a large eagle racing towards her.

The bird of prey soared downwards, his claws colliding with the branch of an old oak tree. Kachina winced when the tree's spirit spat out a string of select curses. Ignoring her, the eagle began to preen his feathers; his greyish yellow eyes narrowed in concentration. Unamused by this common act, Kachina raced forwards and shot up a paw, almost knocking the bird from the branch and forcing him to pay attention to her.
"Honestly Kwa, you do this every morning. When are you going to be creative and come up with a new act?" There was no need for either to voice their words; for when two share the same soul; they can simply hear the other's thoughts.
Kwa ruffled his feathers; half annoyed, yet half amused.
"Well, my dear feline, if you never choose to groom yourself, then so be it. I however, wish to look my best." This playful banter was common among the two; for both knew that neither was truly annoyed with the other. Suddenly, Kwa grew serious. "You blessed yet another person."
"No, I healed her." Kachina's retort came quickly, the fur on her neck spiking up in defense.
"They need to earn these gifts, Kachina."
"She did!"
"Was she a hunter, a warrior, a mother? No. She did not earn her healing."
"She was a child; and hurt! Her faith in us was just as great as any warrior's. She dragged herself to every cerimony when others forgot about her. She knew that we would come, and I did." Kachina's black eyes pooled with sadness, wishing that Kwa would understand.
"Kachina, we are the same. This will not work if you continue to act without consulting me. We always discuss my acts before I carry them out; you need to start eturning the favor." It was no wonder that Kwahu split, mused Kwa. He would have been fighting himself over everything. When he saw that Kachina did not plan on responding, he fluttered down from his perch and stood in front of her, the white feathers on his head shining in the light. "Kachina, we both share Kwahu's memories. I know just as much as you. It is imperitive that we work together; for if we were serperate, the great Eagle would be no more."
The cheetah nodded, meeting his eyes. "I'm not sorry for healing the girl, she needed me."
Kwa gently butted his head against her leg, his eyes shining. "I hadn't expected you to be sorry; I only wish for you to understand my own point of view."
"Fine. But don't plan on me consulting you on everything. I never have, and I never will. We may share the same soul, but were are two different creatures."
And how true it was.
Suddenly the eagle sprang into the air and cheetah started to run; racing each other across the briliantly painted morning. There were no secrets between the two; no hidden feelings; and there never would be. Mabey that contributed to them being so close, or mabey it was simply because they were the same soul, Kwahu. But as one dashed across the ground, and the other sped through the sky; no one could deny how powerful and sacred the bond of the great Eagle spirit was.

I have three drawing entries; please click each title to be taken to the corresponding piece of art.

"Ancient Forest"
This image is supposed to depict Kachina walking among the ancient trees of the mounatin; or as she sees them, the ancient spirits.

"United"
"United" is meant to show the sense of unity between Kachina and Kwa; her kindred and alter spirit.
The brushes I used can be found here.
http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&secti ... es#/dp54an

"Medicine Wheel"
Medicine Wheels started out as giant circles made from stones with a pinwheel-like design in the centre. When incorporated into art and clothing, different colors representing each of the Cardinal directions; North, East, South, and West, replaced the stone pinwheels. The East, painted yellow, was the embodiment of new beginnings, air, flight, intelligence, life, and light; as was the eagle. It is for this reasn that the Native saying, "The Eagle always flys to the East," came about.

Answers to Q&A:

1.
I shall state my case simply. Kachina will not be bred. A creature must be alive to breed; and to me, Kachina is not alive. She is a spirit, as was the spirit that she is based on; the Eagle Kachina that the Native Americans prayed to and worshipped. As it is my goal to keep Kachina as close to the spirit that she is based on as possible, I refuse to have her bred.

2.
To the Native Americans; the spirits they worshipped were never born, they simply were always there. It is because of this that I wish to adopt Kachina as an adult. I appreciate the offer, and she would be adorable as a cub; but I plan on sticking with the beliefs that Kachina was woven from.

3.
I do not wish to change this Cheetah's name or gender. Kachina is meant to be Kwa's alter spirit and soul-partner, and because of this I believe that it makes sense for her gender to be opposite from his. In addition to this; she simply looks female; but not in a "flowers and pink" way. I rarely adopt female characters; for I have a tendency to not give them very feminine atrtibutes. I like my female characters to be harsh, intelligent, strong ones; and it can take time to find a character that is able to fit this description. Kachina matches this request perfectly. To me; she seems to have the exact aura that I look for in a female character about her. Since I wish to preserve this unique trait; Kachina shall remain a female.
Kachinas were, essentially, physical representations of the spirits. They were given to children to better help them remember the various spirits; such as the Flower Maiden, the Mud-head, or the Eagle, Kwa. This cheetah, Kachina, is the spiritual embodiment of half of Kwa's spirit, and is, in a way, his Kachina. The name also shows her deep connection with the people; her willingness to help, to bless, and to understand when others won't, and to be there when other spirits refuse to be. Overall, the title Kachina fits this cheetah well.

4.
To start with; I understand this character on a much deeper level than most other people would. From the moment I could think, my parents taught me many ideals that shaped who I am. Learn whenever you have the opportunity to. Speak your mind. Stand up for yourself. Do not associate yourself with those who will bring you down. Compete with others. Losing is not a bad thing, it only helps you grow. They taught me these and many more, and continue to teach me everyday. But let me now speak of the lesson that truly relates to Kachina and the beliefs behind her. Learn the ways of others. Their past is our past, it is the world's past. You do not have to share in their beliefs, but respect and honor them. I live in only one of the fifty states; yet I have seen fourty-two of them. Through my travels I have gined an immense amount of knowledge about those that share this country with us. I have visited dozens of Native American ruins, and have been affected by them beyond words. It is an amazingly powerful experiance to stand in a spot where hundreds of years ago a girl my age probably stood. A girl who is now burried in the ground while I live on. I know so much about these people; and it is for this reason that I feel such an incredibly deep connection with Kachina. In fact, I own my own little Kachina. Please click here to view him. I understand, appreciate, and know what this cheetah is meant to represent; and it is my wish to convey to others these ancient, forgotten beliefs through my writing.

Thank you for considering my form; Kachina means a lot to me.

One reason I should give you the cheetah you seek:
I do not have any others and I love animals. I you click on my character button in my siggy, you can see that I collect and make fan-art of my animals. I LOVE wildlife and I have adopted real wildlife animals before.

You have to fill out the entire form for it to count at all in the contest. Not just one of the questions. Read the rules, respect the rules, follow the rules.

And please don't double post.

-raises hand- I have a question. When will (if at all) will the breeding be open? I finally have a full-grown cheetah. ^^
