The Eastern Ravens of Black Pine Forest
These birds are legend to be the wisest and oldest of all creatures. Towering their feathered cousins, Eastern ravens stand at a staggering five feet with a fifteen feet wingspan. Each bird protects its territory fearlessly from rival birds and humans alike.
Eastern Ravens are completely black when hatched from the egg, it is not until the bird is fully grown and its personality has developed that their individual patterns come in. These patterns are created partially from the magic in the forest around them and partially from a specialized feather dying ritual. While each raven has a unique design, all birds will keep some of it not almost all of the original black pigment in their feathers.
Eastern Ravens earn their armor after completing their apprenticeship, and becoming Masters of the Forest. They will not be left alone to protect their own part of the forest until they have mastered all their training and risen to the highest honor an Easter Raven can hope for, becoming a Lord of the Forest. Raking goes as follows: Hatchling, Apprentice, Master and finally Lord.
