As I've mentioned before somewhere, demand and supply go hand in hand. You can't just ignore demand, it's part of economy. CS is like a simulation only with cute adoptables. cx
on an unrelated note, hekomi i love your sig. otp
That's true - demand is very important - but at the same time the raven isn't near as rare as the other pets on that line it's already on. It was only rare when it first came out and stayed that way for at least a few months if I remember right. I have thought about this a bit lately but I really don't think it's a major thing. I know I've seen the raven go for main list pets but that is when demand is sky-high. I've also swapped a raven for lolita at least once. We're just coming down from a raven demand-high so it's hard to say exactly where it needs to be. Personally I wouldn't even consider bringing it up above a mid advent but even so I'm not sure it really needs to go too high. I really think 1-2 lines would be the most you'd want to move it.
That's part of it too - as soon as it moves up demand will spike again. Having it higher on the list would give people more reason to want more overpay.
Honestly, I'm not sure I'd see it as 'more reason to want overpay." people are still going to be willing to offer just as much for a pet as before, they aren't going to be willing to offer
more overpay if it moves up a few lines and they are already offering main list. They would still offer the same main list as before. People who have the pet are already expecting, and getting, overpay. If it is moved up, it means the pet's value has gone up. They are already getting offered more because the pet is higher on the list, I doubt people will start expecting even higher main list just because it goes up a few lines.
I will add to this that I personally have not been into rares list trading and paying attention when pets are moved up to see how they are affected, so no I don't know for certain what would happen, but this is just coming from my own experience. I personally think, that if a pet is already getting a lot of overpay, like the Raven dog is, then its value has already gone up, and the only thing the rares list is doing by not changing the value, is drilling into people's heads that the pets value has
not gone up. If people are consistently offering main list for raven dogs, even though they know what the raven dog is 'really' worth, than I think that means its value has increased. Regardless of how people would treat the pet if it moved up, the rares list is supposed to be reflecting the values of the pets in both demand and rarity. And store pets are constantly going up in demand because there are more and more users that want them, and they are not being re-released. I think if the rares list starts refusing to move pets because 'rarity-wise its not worth anywhere near that much' or 'its not as rare as some of the pets its going to be above' then its starting to reflect only the pets rarity, and not the demand. A lot of people depend on this guide for trades, if a user gets a raven dog, they may accept a swap for a same-tier pet when it is fair, but little did they know, several other people are willing to offer much more. Is it wrong to accept overpay offers? Because thats what some people are now making it out to be, only fair offers are ok and you are 'feeding demand' if you accept overpay.
Yes, every once in a while you can find someone willing to swap a Raven dog, but 99% of the time those users are either like the user described above "Stop feeding demand!" or they don't realize how much overpay people are willing to offer for Raven dogs or they just want the pet your offering so much that they are willing to offer the Raven dog for it. But how many people have to be willing to offer overpay for a pet for it to be enough to move a pet up the list?
Just my thoughts on the whole thing u.u
