✿ About Her
She is, in one word, joyful. A dreary and prolonged storm in April could not bring her down. Tender-hearted and gentle, she is friends with most of the other Badger Deer in her herd. For being as outgoing as she is, she rarely shows extreme emotion. The everlasting smile remains her most common trait. She can be found throughout the day nibbling on fallen fruit from a guava tree or splashing in the brook that gently curves through the island she calls home. She is also very determined in making her dreams a reality. Instead of letting her "impossible" dreams fall to the wayside, she fully sets her heart on them. Her most special dream is to leave the island and see the world as it is. Although many people doubt that she will ever go far, she decides to carry on and follow her heart wherever it may lead her.

✿ Her Loves
She loves draping her lovely antlers with mossy vines and coral-colored roses. Her favorite colors are indeed green and pink as she loves natural hues. On hot days, she loves wading in the stream, letting the her warmth flow out into the cool current. She especially loves to watch the sunrise as the stars disappear and the sun peak over the curve of the world.

✿ Her Fears
Although very optimistic, Gwyneth at times is over come by fear. She is traumatized by the dark so she rarely stays awake past dusk. When she awakes to watch the sunrise, she must go after the sky turns a lighter shade of azure or she would be paralyzed with fear when walking by herself. Even when accompanied by others in her herd, she will not feel comfortable in the darkness. She also has a fear of walking too far out into the brook. She is not the strongest swimmer so she fears that if the current were strong, she would be tossed out to sea. This leads to a slight fear of the shore. She feels most comfortable in the shallow edges of the stream than out in the deep.

☁ My Inspiration For Her

She is, of course, my first Badger Deer and I am so happy to be given a chance to try out for her. My inspiration for her story lies in a similar item that I myself love. The item struck me as soon as I saw her: "The Firebird Suite" by Igor Stravinsky in the Disney classic Fantasia 2000. The story is silent while the music plays. The silent movie depicts a gentle forest sprite who is accompanied by an elk who lives with her in this beautiful lush valley. As the firebird appears, the sprite is chased and finally swallowed by the monster. Although it seems as it the sprite is defeated, her elk returns and lifts her up to face the world once more as she rises from the ashes. In the end, they together create a beautiful new landscape in the valley they call home. That is where I focused on the theme of overcoming adversity and creating something beautiful, which is why I included Helen Keller's quote of joy overcoming difficulty. Even though Gwyneth may not be in a terrible position in life, she is always looking at the bright side of things. Optimism and joy is what characterizes her inside and out and I believe this song helps show who she is and what she dreams on becoming.

Runko is generally a hardened individual. It's not that he doesn't care about anyone or anything, he just never shows it. Just beneath his calloused hide is a heart that wants to be able to openly care about everything without the fear of being deemed weak or wimpy because of it. He's gotten good at hiding his true feelings behind an icy facade and steeled gaze that intimidates quite a few more people that he would like. Very few have ever seen him with his guard down, and only those individuals have ever earned their place as a friend in his book. But, while he does often portray the big, strong, world-conquest-plotting type, he ends up betraying himself by stepping in to save a small creature or to help out someone in need. Try as he might to play it cool, in the end Runko is just someone that wants to be there for others.
