- Only one Masque can be adopted every two weeks - there is an exception for contests, and you may apply for contests no matter when you got your last Masque.

Species Info

Characteristics

Masques are small, about the size of a domestic house cat, easily held in hand and carried. They have a hard, bone-like face which bears resemblance to avians and other fowl. Their bodies are furry, with a long, thick coat. They have a thin, long tail with feathering on the end. The back feet are paw-like, as on canines, while the front are more bird-like, with three long, clawed toes.

Their faces, referred to as their "mask", are naturally white. However, during holidays or celebrations, some of the braver will have them dyed or painted, but it is rare to see one with a painted mask.

Masques can be any color, but most all have white on their bodies along with the mask.

Diet and Lifestyle

Masques are non-eaters. They are built for energy storage, and receive energy through the absorption of nutrients (from sunlight or other natural things, but mostly sunlight.) They spend a lot of their day laying in the sun, and and night they use up some of the energy they got during the day.

They are not, however, considered nocturnal creatures, as they do sleep from about midnight to dawn or later.

Masques have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years.
