Question. Is the latest bean, i believe 465, truley that numbered bean? Im asking this seeing as runner ups, would they not count as so and so number? Or do runner ups just stay as "runner up's" with no exact bean #?

I'm not completely sure but i am pretty confident that RU's don't have numbers judging by past beans.

Ive always given them the same number but added a point to them. Like if there were two ru's for say... Jbd 500, I would label them 500.1 and 500.2, but thats just me I guess c:

JBD numbers are just one of those things that are always going to be a little messy.
They are very useful for estimation and events. Some runners up have numbers (ie, if they were posted directly to the thread, rather than a color in of their "winner" bean) but most do not.

In truth, there are over 500 beans in existence, as seen in our Archives. Don't forget the Nursery Archives as well, if you want to count totals.


So no, 465 is not the exact 465th bean to be made, but he fits in there with the official release numbers.

And remember to let staff answer, especially if you are not certain of the answers.

No promises, as that is not needed, and the number constantly changes.
However, the archives are divided into groups of 10 for easy counting. Have fun!
