Because she has cat ears man, I love cat ears. Her design is stupendously arranged and so pretty, she looks so mad and crazy and gorgeous and me, being mad as a Hatter of course, absolutely adore that. Her rainbow flecks and animation make her look so fantastical and she just looks like the perfectimundo wonderland creature <3333 I want her design now as an OC XD SO I have to win her :3 She is just so adorable and perfect and just so... Maribelle's Tale

Flames. That is all she could see. Flames. All around her. Flames. Purple, searing hot flames, licking the ground with its fiery stroke. This was hell, Maribelle was sure of it.
"Chessur!" She called out desperately. "Brother, where are you?"
Maribelle screamed until her little voice was as hoarse as can be. She cried, her rainbow pelt shaking. She was alone, and going to burn. She let out one final ear piercing scream, before squeezing her eyes shut and waiting for the heat. It never came. She was wrenched out by two guards, and she was dragged, kicking and screaming, to the dungeons.
The things she had to go through there are far too horrible to describe but for many, many years, she was stuck in this dingy dungeon, but for some reason, she never lost her head. It was as if she had been forgotten, abandoned even by her captors and it was the most depressing feeling, like no one cared. Every single day, she would weep for her brother, weep and cry for his memory, as she believed he was dead.
Maribelle was kept in the very oldest parts of the dungeons, and while she hadn't been forgotten, there were other priorities that needed more urgent attendance, so Maribelle was left, alone. Until the day the beast that destroyed it all was slain. When the Jabberwock was slayed, the queen who had imprisoned her for so long was exiled and the castle, abandoned.

The problem was, no one but the Red Queen knew Maribelle was there.

Far away, back in the white kingdom, Chessur was playing with a thimble, he was flipping it around, and around, and around.
Poor Maribelle... To die so young, before even knowing she had powers. Maybe if she knew, she would still be alive. Chessur thought to himself sadly.
Not a day went by when the 'Cheshire Cat', as he had been referred to before, did not think of his dear sister. She was only slightly older than a kitten when the Red Queen seized power by force, and burnt his dear sister in the violet flames. No kitten could survive that, he had accepted long ago that he would never see her again. Their parents had abandoned them both when Mari was just a newborn, and with the help of the White Queen, he raised her. After all that, to have her snatched away from him was like a knife to his hard-to-touch heart.
He suddenly felt that he wasn't alone. He turned his head to see the White Queen, Mirana, herself behind him.
"Dear Chessur, would you do me a small courtesy." She said in her wistful voice.
Chessur took in a silent breath and smirked in his usual way.
"Depends." He drawled.
"I would like you to go my sisters dungeons and see if anyone escaped her dreadful beheading."
What's the point?! She won't have missed anyone... But I can't say no
"Of course, my Queen." He drawled, before slinking off.

Chessur breathed a sigh as he approached the castle.
Why am I here? He thought to himself, before padding in slowly.
He knew the way. He shut his eyes and slunk down the steps. He smirked a little at the cell he knew the hatter had been in.
The only time he ever let me wear that hat. He thought with a smile.
It was strange to hear this place, once constantly bustling with noise, completely silent.
There's no one here... He thought.
However, he knew he had to make sure.
"This is so stupid.." He whispered out loud, scanning every cell for a sign of life. He then saw another set of steps, leading down.
Well, might as well. He thought, stepping down into the oldest part of the dungeon.
He scanned it quickly
No one here. He thought and almost turned around, when he heard slight breathing.
He saw a small purple lump, cowering in a corner, curled up.
"Hey, little one, are you okay?" He asked, trying to sound as nice as possible.

Maribelle heard a voice, it sounded oddly familiar, soothing and calming, she turned her head slightly. She instantly recognized the figure before her. Chessur.
"I'm dead." She croaked, a tear rolling down her cheek. "I've finally joined you."
"What do you mean Mari?" Chessur asked, confused, scared his sister had truly lost her mind.
"You died. The J-" She began before breaking down in tears. "You died, and now I'm dead too."
"No... Mari, we aren't dead. We are very much alive. Mirana is once again in rule and everything is perfect. We've found each other." He said, happy tears escaping his eyes.
"But how do I get out, the Red Queen has the only keys."
Chessur smirked and dissapeared, appearing in the prison.
"We have powers, sister. We can do things like that! You weren't old enough before, but now, I can show you." He explained, dissapearing and reappearing outside the prison.
"Now close your eyes. Imagine yourself outside the cage." He explained.
Mari tried, she squeezed her eyes shut and imagined herself outside. She opened her eyes, but she hadn't moved an inch. Tears spilled over from her eyes.
"Oh Chess, it's no use. I'm doomed." She cried.
"No Mari! I won't leave you here. Will your way out, will it Mari. Please." He said, a pleading expression on his face. "Try. Again."
So Mari did, she closed her eyes and thought, I need to get out, I need to get out, I need to get out!, while picturing herself out and slowly, but painfully, she dissapeared, and reappeared beside Chessur. She opened her eyes and couldn't believe it.
"Chess I did it!" She squealed happily. "I'm finally free!"
Chessur smiled with his signature grin.
"Let us go back to Mirana." He announced happily, levitating in the air.
Maibelle blinked and tried to do the same. To her surprise, she did it with complete ease.
"Wow... It feels so good to be free!" She giggled, floating around everywhere, doing roly polys in the air.
Chessur watched her with a smile, he never thought in a million years he would find her, he believed she was dead. He wanted to leap up and fly around, just as she was, but he was Chessur. He had to keep his reputation. Nevertheless, he had never been so happy. He chuckled, and carried on following her.

The gates to the White Queen's castle creaked open as Chessur and Maribelle approached, both with Cheshire Cat worthy grins on their faces. As Mirana approached them, both bowed.
"So this young cat was there then?" She asked Chessur, eyebrows raised.
She recognized this young cat, but she couldn't think where from. Something in her coloration if fur.
"Yes. Mirana, forgive me for saying, but this is Maribelle, my sister. Do you not remember her?" He said with a chuckle.
"My dear Maribelle, how could I not recognize you. I thought you were dead." She said happily, hugging the now fully grown Maribelle.

"So how in the name of Underland did you survive?" Asked Maribelle's old friend, Jearl McTwisp, sister of the original 'white rabbit'.
"And what was it like there?" Asked Jearl's younger sister, Tharin McTwisp
Maribelle laughed a little.
"How I survived? Well, I guess I just kept my head down and did as I was told. Sounds wimpy but I didn't have a choice. I didn't want to die, however awful it was there. Eventually, they lost interest in me and just forgot about me. But I would have died there if it weren't for my brother, Chess. He came and rescued me. When In saw him, I thought I was dead, I mean, I was so sure he had died but he was okay! He brought me back here and, here I am. As for what it was like, it was horrible, it was dirty and they gave me next to no food. They would hurt me for information sometimes, even though I knew none and they wouldn't give me any medicine when I was horrifically ill. I lived in constant fear of execution. It was just... Awful." She explained.
Jearl and Tharin's eyes were wide in horror.
"Oh Mari!" Jearl gasped, hugging her friend. "That will never happen again I promise you."
Maribelle nodded and hugged her friend back. There were times where she thought she would go mad from the solitarity, the loneliness, the grief, but she, somehow, stayed strong. She looked back towards young Tharin, who was crying.
"Tharin..." Maribelle muttered.
Tharin wailed and latched herself onto Maribelle.
"Oh Mari, I am so sorry you had to go through that, that's horrible!"
Maribelle sighed.
"I know dear, I know."
But it was all over, she was home, with her brother, her friends and everyone who cared about her, never would she have to go through that again. She could be free.
