good question!!
dokin (single; dokii) are large, slender creatures who behave much like excitable dogs.
they are very docile and loyal, and make great pets.
dokin generally live in densely populated areas, such as cities and small villages, as they enjoy the company of their peers and humans, and tend to thrive off it.
dokin are also used to replace humans in certain jobs, as they are easy to train and are low maintenance.
dokin survive on a diet mostly consisting of meat, though they tend to eat whatever they can get their hands on.
they can come in various different varieties, though the basic anatomy stays the same! changes include mane, tail, ear, fur length and horns.
overall, dokin are kind and dependable animals who make great household pets and companions.
❖what does dokin mean?❖

dokii/dokin is derived from the term doki doki (ドキドキ) which you may of heard. it is sound a heartbeat makes in Japanese, though it can also be translated as 'heartthrob'.
❖how do i get one?❖
its simple!
just wait for a new dokii to be posted, and the instructions will be there!! generally, you will be asked to fill in a small form, consisting of name, gender, and one or two extra little tidbits. needing to get art is at a minimum here, though may crop up sometimes, and will probably only require one piece of your own art.
as for customs, slots will be open sometimes, and will very likely require payment.

❖dokii features❖
growth spurt
all dokin start off fairly small, and grow very little until they reach whats known as "the growth spurt". when a dokii reaches maturity, which is around 5-6 human years, they will suddenly grow to about 7 feet within a very small space of time! this means dokin stay small for quite a long time (something which many owners overlook!)
small wings
all dokins are born with wings, however, these wings never grow, and by the time they reach their growth spurt, they are obsolete.
closed eyes
until a dokii reaches its growth spurt, its eyes will stay closed. it will quickly adapt to its other senses to find its way around, and after about a year will have no problems with its lack of sight.
spines
dokin are born with spines on their back, that grow when they hit their growth spurt. the spines are used for protection, and some dokin have extremely sharp spines!
mating practices
dokin are not obligated to mate for life, though tend to stick with their mates for atleast 2 months before breaking up if they want to. m/m and f/f couples cannot have biological children though can still be mates and may adopt a child dokii as long as the owner of said dokii grants permission. when m/f couples do have children, they tend to have litters of 1-3. if dokin have a litter of 2, those 2 dokin tend to be very similar - or sometimes identical - to eachother in appearance.
if two dokin owners wish for their dokin to be mates, they must contact me (zetsubou) before doing so.
