yeah, space is a problem. i have barely any room for anything in my room due to the three mounts that i have already, but i could find some room for a wolf of course hah
but yes, i own the pelts of animals i love, i mean, you have toove them when they're dead, too!
also i am seriously in love  with your ermine gah

@ cindy - i do know that a lot of people here donate, but i myself don't. other than that, though, i don't know if there really is anything you could do to help wolves. clubs really don't do much tbh.

gosh, i'd kill for any kind of mount D: taxidermy is so cool. I used to have a fox tail does that count as taxidermy but then my cat ate it :c

I have a few fox mounts, a wolf, a deer head, a crow, some coyotes, raccoon, and some ducklings.. No more space for more though >< Also have quite a few pelts. Love taxidermy. My cats do well around it luckily, except for an ermine pelt I -used- to have.

you're lucky lupen, my cats are obsessed with licking any variety of feline fur i have >< and when my little calico is in heat, she is utterly convinced that anders my coyote pelt is her boyfriend and will not leave him alone omg
they're terrified of my bat eared fox mount, though, and would probably freak if i ever did get a wolf. at least that might keep them out of my room!
having a wolf mount would be amazing, though. having any mount is, of course - but for some reason i just have a thing for wolves when it comes to fur and taxidermy [and am actually probably going to be getting another wolf pelt soon, but i can't decide which of the two i have my eye on i actually want to get agh].

but anyway, welcome, wolfsong c:

Despite all i said about hunting, i now think animal pelts are educational, i went to a zoo and they had pelts of these animals: leopard, kangaroo, zebra and cheetah
welcome to our cave of rock and stone,
this is where we call home,
the mist swirls as night draws in,
together as one, we are kin,

we will not give without a fight,
hide in the shadows, black as night,
every crack, every fold,
we are the tribe of forgotten worlds.

the two i'm looking into are both #cdcdcd00, but lower quality pelts can be anywhere from $100-300 or more depending on the seller, but mountable or complete ones are usually anywhere from #cdcdcd00-$2,000. it depends on the color of the wolf, the quality of the fur, tan and skinning job, etc. but the cheapest complete/good quality pelt i've ever seen was $250 c:

@starfred - yes, pelts are very good for reference and education. i'll never understand why people are against fur in itself - while i can understand being against hunting or trapping, refusing to associate with fur itself is rather silly and those people are missing out on quite a lot haha.

Well, I'd like to say that I would be against fur because that ould mean you'd have to kill the wolve to get it. And I don't find it usefull to kill an animal for it's pelt. Personaly, I wouldn't want to be caught dead with an any animal skin, wether it's cheetah, tiger, bear, wolf, or anything. Although, if there are artificail pelts out there, I could see how they could be useful. But there probobly isn't; correct me if I'm wrong.

there's a ton of places that sell and take fur from road kill, animals that died naturally, etc. and even sanctuaries and zoos oftentimes send their animals that have died naturally to museums or other people who can put the pelt and body to use. c:
it's pretty easy to find fur that came from animals that weren't intentionally killed.

also, animals aren't killed only for their fur. a lot of the time, throwing away the body is illegal, actually, so the meat, organs, and bones are all usually used for various things [yes, even with wolves]. though some trappers do leave the bodies [but take the fur] of some animals they kill such as beavers, muskrat, etc. behind to feed the starving animals in the winter and it's proven to be a quite effective and useful thing to do.
