you've received a warning sorry
the art you provided was not yours to use, plus the fact that it is not even art for the pup you are trying out for.

you are disqualified for this round

username// ~Kiwi~
pup number// #1
gender// Female
name you'll give it// Sakamichi
personality description//
    • lovable, curious, soft-spoken
    • loves to eat eraser shavings
    • newspapers are her favorite things to play with
story and/or art//
A Lazy Sunday Morning

Sakamichi stifled a yawn, eyes closed, as she eagerly stretched her limbs out in the cozy warmth of the morning sunlight. Blinking the last remnants of sleep from her hazy eyes, she rose from her bed and padded softly over towards a bowl of fresh water; she lapped up a few mouthfuls with her pink tongue, taking extra care so that no stray drops fell upon the paper folds of her neck. It was just another lazy Sunday morning, and from the cheerful chirps of the neighborhood birds, Sakamichi could conclude that the weather was going to be splendid.

With her parched throat now thoroughly rejuvenated, she trotted happily up the carpeted staircase to awake her slumbering master. The sly girl carefully nudged the door ajar with her nose and crept up to the bed like a tiger stalking its prey. Finally, she sprang up and licked the human's face and an audible groan could be heard as the young girl attempted to shield her face from dog's slobbering tongue.

"Alright, alright - I'm up, Saka," the girl grumbled reluctantly as she threw off the covers and stretched out her aching limbs.

Sakamichi wagged her folded tail in glee; it made soft crinkling noises as it thumped against the bedsheets. As her master headed towards the bathroom, the origami dog walked over to the drawing table for some breakfast. Her master was an avid artist; her desk was littered with numerous concept sketches along rampant papers and pencils haphazardly tossed aside. However, none of this mattered to Sakamichi. No, what she was hungering for were those delectable pink nuggets, or erasers, as they are most commonly known as.

Of course, she'd love to eat the entire eraser, but her master had a fit the last time she tried that; as it turns out, those artist erasers are pretty darned expensive! Therefore, Sakamichi would have to make do with the eraser shavings. Her master had kindly swept up a sizeable pile of them neatly in the corner of her desk, and Sakamichi ate with much gusto.

With her tummy now full, the pudgy puppy ran down to the kitchen where her master was munching on a bowful of Lucky Charms cereal. After gulping down a mouthful of marshmallowy bits and swigging a glass of cold, frothy milk, the girl smiled down at the paper-folded canine with a light pat on her head. Sakamichi barked in approval, rubbing her head into the girl's palm as a gesture for more attention when suddenly her ears pricked up, honing in on the faint ringing of a bicycle bell.

"Ah, that must be the paperboy - right on schedule," the human laughed with a knowing smirk as she watched her dog race out onto the front porch, "Be sure to bring the Sunday paper back in one piece!"

Sakamichi sniffed at the ground as she paced in circles, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the paperboy. The sound of rubber tires hitting the pavement reached her ears within minutes and her paws itched with anticipation. It was her tradition of sorts to race with the paperboy, most likely due to her innate fixation with newspapers; they are her favorite thing to play with, as the paperboy soon figured out when she nearly trampled him as a puppy in her haste to reach the plethora of printed paper hiding within his knapsack.

Nowadays, Sakamichi had more self control than that and preferred to race him down - winner take all. The paperboy was closing in...3 houses down...2 houses...1...and off she went like a bullet out of a gun! The wind whizzed around her, her muscles bunching with each powerful stride, her tongue lolling out of her mouth, her chest heaving with exertion and adrenaline rushing through her veins. She almost felt as though she could soar through the air as she felt the breeze flow beneath the unique paper plane folds in her neck.

The paperboy put up a valient effort; however, he was simply no match for the newspaper-crazed canine making a beeline for his bike. Closing in for the kill, Sakamichi opened her jaws and latched firmly onto the edge of the knapsack, causing the boy to tumble off-balance into a row of primly trimmed hedges near the curb. Shaking leaves from his tousled hair, the boy stared as Sakamichi submerged herself into the sea of Sunday newspapers, seeming to not have a care in the world.

With a sigh, he got up, brushed the debris from his jeans, and laughed, "Haha, alright; you win this time, ya little rascal. Maybe I should think about buying a motorcycle..."

The victorious pup's head popped up from the pile of papers with a guilty grin. After she was done gloating, he gathered up the papers and organized them as best as he could, with a few pages misplaced here and there. As he was about to leave to finish his rounds, he tossed a particularly large edition of the Sunday newspaper over to Sakamichi. She lept up and caught it squarely in her jaws, wagging her crinkling tail with ecstasy as she trotted back to her master's yard.

Entering through the doggy-door with her loot in tow, she proudly placed her prize before her master. The girl was just finished cleaning her dishes and putting the milk carton back in the fridge. She turned back to Sakamichi, a small groan escaping her as she put a hand over her face in exasperation.

"Saka, you got your slobber all over the paper! Now the ink's running and I won't be able to read anything!"

The dog simply grinned at her, oblivious to her obvious distress. Suddenly, she jumped on the girl, licking her face like she was some kind of sweet treat by way of apology, the pointed edges of her paper neck tickling the girl's face. They soon became a mixed jumble of paws and limbs as the tickle fight progressed, each struggling to hold back giggles. After a couple of intense minutes, they paused to catch their breath.

The human patted the canine's head lovingly and whispered, "Oh, what am I kidding? - I could never stay mad at you."

Sakamichi closed her eyes drowsily, enjoying the comforting and familiar feel of her master's hands rubbing her fur...
