Deep in the heart of the Valancy Forest, by the crystal clear waters of Lake Tranquility, there is a small thicket formed from brambles and cherry blossom, This thicket is the home and nesting place of the Ding Bats.
These elusive little critters, come in all colours and pattens, although they are scarcely seen, and over the years many people believe them to be a myth. Valancy, the spirit of the forest protects them, but the Ding Bats must learn to overcome the hardships and dangers that the forest can bring. This is their story, their relationships and the quest to protect themselves and their home.
The Valancy ForestRegion: The Valancy Forest.
A beautiful magical forest, dense trees and foliage protect it's heart, it's center piece is a beautiful clearing with a huge lake situated in vast meadow, the tree line is so dense around it, that some animals are rarely spotted here. This huge forest is home to many animals, ranging from bears and wolves, to deer and squirrels.

To the North, the forest is very dangerious, a hot, tar pit lies in wait for any animal to walk into it's burning thick ooze. Steam can be seen from the thick bubbles that rise to the surface and burst, The trees around it are scortched and have lost all their leaves, the grass grows black and brittle where the tar and gasses have leaked into the surrounding soil.
To the West is a waterfall, with a small beach line crowning a deep water lake that connects to an under sea current. Sometimes sea creatures can be spotted here, the air is fresh and the beach is covered in shells, it is beautiful, but not always safe. Behind the waterfall is a small cave, barely visable.
To the East is a small rocky mountain with a maze-like cave system with harsh, relenting, wind tunnels, the air up top is almost as dense as the tree line itself but the confusing cave system makes the jorney to the top very difficult, many animals have died here, but there are still some that lurk inside the mountain and understand the cave system.
To the South the forest gets denser still, large vines and think undergrowth make it almost impossible to enter, little is known of this area, it has yet to be explored.
The seasons will change and time will alter the forests aprience, the outside world cannot connect to the forset, while Valancy's Mist protects it.
The Ding BatsDing Bats have furry little bodies with a very large fluffy tail, their wings are made of many delicate velvet feathers, but their paws are cat like, big ears help them to hear a great distance and also aid in stablising their flight.
Their wings are very strong for their size, they can even fly upside down and swim very fast underwater, although they tend to be happier in the trees.
It is said that some Ding Bats have special magic traits and they can even manipulte the world around them, these special Ding Bats are known as Elementals they are extremely old and are considered sages of the forest.
Ding Bats are known to be immortal, they can live for thousands and thousands of years, as long as they can survive the hardships of winter and troubles in the forest, but the spirit Valancy will always watch over them, she is considered the god of the forest.
Ding Bats are small creatures about the size of a human hand.
Ding Bats mate for life, but only in the mating seanson, in May! They do not form a mating bond untill the honey suckle is blooming in the month of May.
Ding Bats have a heightened sense of empathy, they can understand what each other are thinking and how they feel. They can comincate in squeaks, rather like a mouse, but all of them can understand the other animals in the forest and can communicate with them freely.
Ding Bats always have one favourite thing they like to do, for example, just below is my own Ding Bat, Dink. Dink likes to plant seeds, and tend to the flowers, he's quite the little gardener.
