Aven has Insomnia, or sleeplessness, which is a sleep disorder in which there is an inability to fall asleep or to stay asleep as long as desired. Why does he have this? When he was younger, his brother told him of what the dark can posses. Thieves, drunk drivers, and animals that would rip him to shreds. He spends his sleepless nights hiding himself away, where the shadows cannot overwhelm him with it's threats.

Claustrophobia. Aven cannot stand to be in the middle of a crowd, or in a dark room. His legs get shaky, his heart beats quickly, and he sees spots in his vision. This partially goes with his insomnia, as if he is touching anyone in the dark he gets the same feeling. Or, tight rooms for that matter. Aven will literally has a meltdown, and will try to escape at all costs.

Talent. Aven's talent is being able to 'fly' into other's dreams. He cannot change or give them dreams, but simply observes. This helps him determine what is wrong with a patient, as Aven is a psychologist, or someone who helps others with their personal issues, like dreams, problems, or personality disorders. It appears like he needs to sleep, even though he is just a tad drowsy. Many trust him with their secrets, as he is a very quiet pony.
