It's fine. I typed that shortly after waking up, so I probably did an awful job of explaining myself and made little sense. XD

Kitty- I'm not planning to leave, because all the mods seem to be telling us different things. Hekomi seemed to be fine with us debating so long as things didn't get out of hand, Ricorn seems to think we shouldn't be debating at all, and other mods seemed to have other opinions. So until we get a definite answer from Tess about the debating, I don't see a reason to stop.

It is in the first post now so I'm sure tess agrees, if it's there she's not likely to say much more about it.
We were allowed to debate before, but all the points have been gone over ten times by now, and there are too many users being rude, so we were asked to stop.

Edit by Gatoh:

I wasn't added in by Tess, it seems it was edited in by Fiery Gatoh.

While I agree all the points have been said a hundred times, new users will continue to come in bringing up points that have unknowingly been said before, and other users will have to bring up their points to inform them of everything we currently know.

Was that what I was asked about for the poll? No, and that's why my vote isn't changing. Tess did the poll to ask if we wanted them all to look uniform, and I don't. If they're changed I want the equi horses to be in one of the line-art edits. At this point we all know they will be changed no matter what, so I'm actually voting for the question asked. (Which it's perfectly fine if people want to vote yes or no for other reasons, that's just not what I'm doing.)

This. IMO, I think there should be a whole new line drawn for the old horses and ponies, so they still are distinguishable from the newer ones. There should be a "running horse" line made for the old horses, and since what people like most about the older ponies (or from what I've seen, and what I like about them) a pony line similar to that of Equi's and with the mane over the eyes on the ones that have that and for the "newer" Equi ponies, no hair over the eyes. Since that would be an easy edit to make on the lines, longer hair, shorter hair, like the dogs have different ears and tails. My opinion.

I think that if they did draw a whole new lineart of a running horse it would cut down a ton on the complaining. From what I have seen pretty much everyone (including myself) that has voted no on the change has voted that way simply because they don't want all the horses uniform and the same, and/or they don't like the Yulynh lines and never have. However if CS could come up with some new lines like you said I think that would be awsome, and may get a lot more people to vote yes, and people would probably accept the idea a lot better than they are currently.

*snip*

End quote.. (oops)

I am good with this idea mostly because I am not to crazy about Yuls pony lines. (No offense to her. I think she is awesome) and I absolutely love the variety.. regardless of the items not fitting.

However, I do not think that the majority will agree to that. We have seen some serious ugliness regarding people's feeling on the art theft. Most want to wipe out Equie completely from the site. Wow.. Anyways.. I would really like to see a compromise but my gut says it won't happen. Tess will have to just look at the votes.. analyze the arguments.. and just go with a choice. Then we all will have to decide what we want to do based on that decision.

I am really hoping to keep the babies in my siggy if possible.

And before the art theft people jump on me.. it is not because I am for art theft, stupid, selfish, or blind. It is because I love them and the art theft story seems to have some holes... some missed information somewhere. (Please do not send me the pics.. ive seen them.) Yes... if it meant ending the life of my pets or CS, I would rather change them. I just have confidence that Tess is handling it.. I suppose. She never asked my opinion on art theft.. just my opinion on the uniformity and items... and that's what I gave her.

Please let me have my opinion.. please do not jump all over me..

Yes people -- you are winning the vote.. yet fighting as if you are losing.. Everyone.. try and take some deep breathes please. Let's have cookies and tell jokes. I miss those days...

I think the old design is a nice way to see how much this website improve since the first pet. It's a part of his history. I vote no because like repainting the Mona Lisa for making her with a tee-shirt and a duckface, redrawing the pets of chicken smoothies is spitting on your, short but still, history. In 10 years, you will be happy to see the old design and says " Look like we are better now ! "

Can I just remind you, Purplebones, that despite the "holes" in the art theft story, if a DMCA report is filed we could end up with little red x's instead of a shiny new lineart.
(I'm not trying to sway your vote, I'm just letting you guys know that, imo, new lineart is better than no lineart.)

Don't you think it's rather mean(not to mention childish) to compare Yul's art to 'redoing the mona lisa with a tee shirt and duckface'? It's quite the opposite actually- her designs look improved, if anything.

If we want to continue the painting analogy, murals and old paintings are often touched up because they wear with age. While Equi's horses aren't wearing or deteriorating, I think if it became clear an old painting in an art museum was a rip-off of some other painting, it would be replaced.

Yes, but the Mona Lisa isn't stolen. I don't think it's spitting on your history, and without the change CS would be history - CS can get sued for tracing lines from some one else's pictures.

She wasn't saying that yul's art is bad, she was trying to point out that she didn't think they should redo the lineart, just like they shouldn't redo the mona lisa.

Yes, but despite that, she could have made her point without insulting Yul's art.

Regardless- these are not paintings, and the two are very different, so there's little point comparing the two. Not to mention, as the other user said, the Mona Lisa is not stolen.
