Lots. Almost all of them at one point.

I think even the spiders went through minor changes at one point.

Yeah, I think the spiders did as well. I know there is one batch that has slightly different lineart back in 2010, I think? It's still in the archive uwu

I recently saw the traced images(I won't link them or anything. Find 'em yourself.) And I have to say I finally realize why I didn't like Equi's lines so much. They are so clunkily traced that it severely affects the anatomy. I never liked the way it fit together, but I couldn't place why. Now I know. :|

That being said, I do think the whole "tracing" fiasco does have something to do with this. I could personally care less about the whole tracing argument( seeing as it's already gotten a bunch of attention and it seems pretty much beaten enough to me) but it also affected the artwork.

Yulynh's lines, on the other hand, don't look so clunky. I believe the change is positive.

ChickenSmoothie is better than that. It's a site that prides itself on artistic integrity and ingenuity. This is upheld in the oekaki and art sections. It seems out of character to let a lineart slide simply because a minority prefer it. Even if it's not enough to stand up in court, I think it's enough that there's a compelling reason to make the change. CS is definitely better than that. It's just a matter of making it clear to the entire world.

[/nod] If they're profiting off those images and are aware of that, it's a bit icky, but legally, they're completely safe even if people were buying C$ solely to buy equimagine horses for the simple reason that when you spend money on C$ you are buying the currency, you then use that currency to buy xyz, you then trade that xyz with user A. What you are buying is the original purchase of C$. It's complicated, but it's the reason why many larger sites make you buy an online currency then spend it on items on their site, the only actually cash purchase you made is for that currency.

Not saying that ChickenSmoothie isn't morally/ethically liable, but legally, they're pretty solid. I just don't understand why they would feel removing the adult linearts is okay, but that PPSs should stay :s Also they're more legally liable to customers who bought C$ for those pets than they are for the fact that users may buy those pets for C$ >.>;

Again: If Tess/the decision makers are planning to remove the lineart anyway, it is worth asking the opinions of the photographers. If they say yes then awesome, if they say no, nothing is lost. It's also the minimum required as far as respect goes, imho. I want the lineart to stay and I do feel any photographer who made a huge issue of it would be unreasonable, but not to ask them at all just seems silly.

I would hope that at this point CS would have a legal team who could provide such answers, but as the site is run by family members, etc. it is possible that they don't. I think this would be a good point to seek legal advice(If they had, I doubt this opinion poll would exist).

I love this site and don't want to see any kind of bad situation here(and genuinely don't see CS as being liable here), but these things should be onsidered from a legal point of view first. CS are great with other legal issues(Coppa laws, etc).

Note: This thread is moving a bit fast for me, if you reply to me and I don't respond, feel free yo PM-nudge me!

IMO, this shouldn't have been put up to a vote. It should simply have been done, like Malk's line changes were. It being put up to vote has just made it a whole lot more complicated than it needed to be.

^ I agree lol, but it shows that Tess does care about how we will feel about it. I'm just, whatever comes out of it, whether I agree with it or not, will be for the best of the site. c:
when first i appear i seem mysterious
but when explained i'm nothing serious

Yes, this a million times over, its clear that they already have started the process, we have examples. CS isn't known for doing things at a super rapid pace, not an awful thing - its the nature of a large site, but when you already have started the work, there is no point in stopping it.
I know it looks nice to put it up for a vote, but now it's dragging all kinds of things out, and earlier there was some pretty heated mud slinging and the like.

Also, if the 'yes' wins, even if its not a huge 70 percent majority they say they want, it might as well be done anyway. Its still a majority, and I bet that after a month no one will care anymore.
