Winners!
1st Place: Vyrason! Congrats. I thought the anatomy and shading on your entry was wonderful and cuddly.
2nd Place: uf7t66! Your anatomy was a bit off, but I loved the lines themselves as they were very cute.
3rd Place: -Danzi-! The shading on yours was wonderful, and I loved the necklace, but unfortunately the facial details were not the cutest.
Honorable Mention: Pictured! I thought yours might've won if it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't finished.
All winners will be PMed when it is their turn to pick out a prize!

Welp, I've decided to toss away my pride and realize the total and absolute truth - I can't make linearts. I just...I can't. They're a flop every time I try.
And so, I decided to host a fantabulous contest for a species idea I've been trying to make but have been failing at. The idea is as follows.
End date: April 1st

My Species Idea wrote:The species I've come up with, which will be called "Something Something Arkens", are (wait for it, drumroll pleeeaase) cats.
Well, cats with various non-catty features. Arkens are cats with large eyes, paws that are always white, and bushy fur. They have unusually high intelligence. Along with that, they are quite small in size, and are very curious. Random objects like bubbles or balloons fascinate them.
Although they seem cutesy and innocent, all Arkens have a purpose. They dwell in deep forests, often living in weeping willows or other trees that grow by the banks of slow-moving, shallow waters. And above all, each Arken represents a living thing in its patch of the woods. Example: an Arken with black fur dappled in gold sparks, with big orange eyes, would represent fireflies in the woods. A white-dappled, tawny Arken might represent fawns. Besides this though, they merely look like cuddly kittens or cats with white paws.
What I Want From You wrote: I am looking for a lineart for my species. I love to color in linearts, and I'm not half bad at lineart edits, I just (for whatever reason) can't make a lineart itself.
I'd love to have it be in a pose where it's raising one paw, as if batting at something. It doesn't have to be looking at the screen, but (like on a ref sheet) the eyes should be in the corner to show their color.
Examples of cutesy kitties that Arkens are based off of (not owned by me, full credit goes to owners):
Posed like this would be great
Love the eyes; give good "cutesy" vibe
Okay, I love this artist. XD Another good pose, but I like the first one better.
Examples of linearts I love here on CS:
Beautiful lineart & species
I own 3 of these XD
THIS LINEART IS GORGEOUS
Rules:
1.) No whining/begging etc. etc.
2.) Lineart must be of the Arkens; nothing else.
3.) End-date not yet decided; maybe when I get a lineart I really like.
4.) Once I get this lineart, I will be using it for the adoptables I will open. If you have any complaint about that, sorry, but just don't enter.
5.) No five-minute entries, and try to only enter if you think you're good enough; no offense, but if you wouldn't use that lineart, I definitely wouldn't.
6.) You have to use the BG I made.
7.) Enter as many times as you'd like.
8.) You must include shading/coloration/base & detailed linearts.
9.) You must be able to draw fur in the lineart.
10.) You must draw to the species description. Anything else, add-ons and such, is allowed, but it must be a fluffy cat.
Failure to follow any of these rules will result in disqualification, so even if you have the best entry in the world, you wouldn't win if you didn't shade it.
See ya later!
