What date did you register as a CS member?:
    Friday, January 8th, 2010
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
14,619 at the time of posting
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
4-7 days a week; it varies with my school work ^^
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Around 4-12 hours, with more time usually spent on Saturdays and Sundays
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
    I've moderated
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes. ^^ At the time of application, I have made 887 drawings. ChibiPaint is the only digital program that I use to draw, in fact. :) I use it for all of my characters, art shop orders, etc.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
I quite frequently make rounds in the oekaki boards. In fact, my favorites are Intermediate, Adoptable, and Colored in. ^^ I often post just to compliment artists as well.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
    I really love the website Chicken Smoothie! I spend literally all of my free time online, and it's the only website that I regularly visit. Being a General Helper is already a lot of fun. I actually get a lot of satisfaction whenever I correctly answer a Help ticket, and I enjoy potentially being the first person to welcome a newbie. Especially since becoming a GH, my patience has grown and I'm able to deal with rough situations that users come to me with. I'd really love to be able to help out even more as I am often receiving endless private messages from users requesting that I move their oekaki drawing to a different board or lock their topic. Anything that I can do to help is definitely something that I'd find satisfaction in. It'll also keep me busy, which will make my online time much more beneficial and productive. I love to have clean forums and I find that I would be great at moderating art theft, bullying, spam, etc. in the oekaki forums. If I were to be accepted as a new Oekaki Moderator, I would certainly love to remain a General Helper. Anywhere that I am needed! (;
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
While I may not be the next da Vinci, I have spent an incredible amount of time on the Chicken Smoothie Oekaki. In fact, it is my most frequently browsed forum; I spent a lot of time going through the posts. I have a lot of experience operating the tools and often help newer users with operation problems including changing the brush's opacity, flipping the canvas to a horizontal post mode, etc.
I have a lot of experience with helping others both online and offline. I have, of course, experience volunteering as a General Helper. I also have spent a lot of my time putting together the Symphony Character Adoption Agency and the Character Adoption Addicts Anonymous, and I've been a mod and an artist for various oekaki topics and species including (but not limited to) Creature Run, Masked, and Pocket Piggies.

Thank you for the opportunity. :D

What date did you register as a CS member?:
June 22, 2011

How many posts have you made in the forum?:
11,371

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
7 days a week.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Well I tend to go on and off a lot, and am on throughout the day at different times. I go on at least 5 hours a day.

Have you moderated on any other forums before?
I have moderated different threads, such as The Scroll, Cats of Elm Street RP, Vernixian HoundsLuna Animal Adoptions (which is pretty inactive at the moment), and so forth, including many in the past.. But I've never gotten the opportunity to mod a gallery of drawings and such created by users, which I would love to try out.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes I have, but not much recently. My drawing skills have improved since my last oekaki drawings, but I'm still not an amazing drawer. C:

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes, I spend a lot of time just browsing the oekaki. I find it very enjoyable looking at all the different styles and techniques of art.
Plus it inspires me to succeed and get better. I really think looking at other people's art helps my own art to grow. <3

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I want to be an oekaki moderator for CS because I really want to give back to this site, plus I really love modding and cleaning up forums. This is my favorite site ever, and it just has so much to offer me and others. I want to help make it an even better site than it already is. Also, I think it would be a wonderful experience and an incredibly fun task to take on. I know it would be challenging and a handful, but that would be the best part.

I'm always up for a great challenge, as I love to push ahead and take responsibility in things. I would love to help people and answer their questions and such. It would be a huge honor and joy. Like I said earlier, I would love to mod an art gallery full of user-made art because I've never done so before, and I think the experience would not only be enjoyable, but I would learn and grow from it too.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
Helping others is something I generally really enjoy doing. It is never a bother for me to have to repeat the same answer over and over to people, and when people ask me questions. I have no problem going out of my way for people, in real life and on CS. ^^;

Another thing is that I believe that I have a lot of patience. There are times where my opinion has been bashed, put down, made fun of, etc. and this doesn't make me lose my cool. I don't get mad at people easily, and if I do, I don't show it. I don't let things get to me, and even though I'm no therapist or professional, I know how to talk to people and can handle many types of situations. I have had to encounter many situations in my life that have caused me to have even more patience than normal.

I am also good at seeing both sides of the story, which is why I could never be a lawyer. I mean yes, if someone was breaking the rules I wouldn't just let it slip because I could see their point of view because there aren't really any great excuses for breaking the rules, but I think being open-minded is always helpful when it comes to modding on here. Although I have done no peer mediation, I do believe I'm very open-minded and completely consider every side of the story without bad judgement. I know a lot about how the whole oekaki program works. I may not have used it very much, but I don't think the tools are difficult to use or get a hang of.

Thank you for reading, and for your consideration. <3

Re: Oekaki Moderator Applications NOW OPEN

Postby mawsoleum » Wed Feb 27, 2013 2:47 pm

What date did you register as a CS member?: August 28, 2008.

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 6735.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 5-6 on weekdays, ridiculous amounts on weekends (10+).

Have you moderated on any other forums before? CatsPawIsland Forums, as well as the site itself.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? I have, but I don't too often. It's a fairly easy program, and I know the tools and how to use them, but I prefer more sophisticated programs myself. I will sketch occasionally, though. I use it more often to design.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yep! A lot, actually. I look through Intermediate, Sketches & Experiments, and Created Adoptables for the most part.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? Well, I both love the site and think it would be very fun! I have a passion for drawing and looking at drawings, so I think this would be an awesome job to have. There are a few things in the oekaki department that I would like to bring up as well, and I think being a name in the forum could help me get my ideas through well.
I very much enjoy dealing with art theft as well. Although it sounds odd, I love the feeling of being able to bring someone to justice. It would be nice to take care of things more independently, instead of completely relying on other mods. Also, there's the risk of theft being covered before another mod can see it. It makes me anxious to wait for replies or wait for a mod to come online, so I would adore being able to handle the situation myself.
Also, I enjoy helping people! This position would give me a good chance to help others with any oekaki questions they may have. It makes me very happy to be able to help others, especially when I get positive results. I am a generally patient person, even more so when it comes to art, and I think I could be a valuable helper if given the chance.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position: Well, I'm good at hunting down art theft. I tend to have a vivid art memory; I can remember if I've seen something before. I have reported oekaki theft multiple times, I enjoy going through images to both admire and check.
I've been an artist and mod for various species, including Marble Cats, Cursed Chime Kois, Flighted Leopards, and Warrior Armored Sabers (my username was Obscura at the time), as well as my own species and the Design Center I ran. I'd like to say I have good experience with both watching out for theft or copies and dealing with the oekaki in general. I know the tools and terms well, and I could explain it very basically to anyone who may need help. I am calm enough to listen to both sides of possible theft stories, you could consider me "trained" in this. My mother, who is a therapist, has been teaching me listening skills and general therapy skill from a young age, so I know how to listen well. I am usually decent at analyzing stories to get an idea of who is telling the truth, and I could easily carry this over to art theft stories or accusations.

Thank you for your time!

      APPLICATION

What date did you register as a CS member? As my profile shows, I registered on April 20th, 2011.

How many posts have you made in the forum? Not including this one, I have made 4,279 posts.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? I'm on CS every day, no matter what. Even when on vacation or without internet, I find my way online over phone or on a public computer.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? On average, I spend maybe five hours a day on Chicken Smoothie, though of course I cannot guarantee that. I have school and a life just like everyone else, and my schedule changes according to that. On a weekend, however, I am given more time, and so I can be on up to seven or eight hours.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? No, I have not. This would be my first experience. I do, however, feel that I am up to the task (I have a hard time restraining myself from mini-modding sometimes, I like to make sure the rules are policed).

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes! I love oekaki, it's like a simplified version of Photoshop and the update makes it even better to draw with. I try to get on when I can, but due to my love of detail and perfectionist attitude, I don't publish oekakis very often. Be assured that I use it often, though.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I do, quite often. That's sometimes because I'm bored, but more often that I simply enjoy browsing art, learning from my peers, and occasionally helping out through critiques.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? CS, particularly the oekaki forums, have become my life. I look forward to jumping on CS each day after coming home from school (though I do my homework first, of course) and the oekaki is the best thing about it, in my opinion. I'd love to be a moderator because I truly think I can enhance the CS oekaki forums. I throughly enjoy the oekaki already, and I think that if I was a mod, my dedication and promptness would help the forum strive to reach its full potential. Art is not a good reason for upset and chaos, nor are the oekaki boards the place for it. I like- no, I love to help. I want to help ensure that the oekaki forums are a safe and friendly environment for the most amateur artists to learn how to thrive. I love the CS artist community, because it is so varied, but I know that diversity brings the occasional argument, so I want to assist in establishing a secure and healthy forum in which everyone knows the rules and limits.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position? I consider myself pretty skilled with oekaki. I know the function of every tool/effect there, and what they can be used for. I think I'm a competent teacher to help others with oekaki as well. I have no qualms with approving posts, and am comfortable with dealing with gore/nudity. Though I can't promise I always find a way to word things kindly, I never completely lose my temper and try my best to deal with arguments in a mature and polite fashion.

thank you so much for this opportunity and consideration.

  • What date did you register as a CS member?:
    ------------ August 04, 2010
  • How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
------------ At the current time, I have made 5,346 posts.
  • How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
    ------------ Definitely all 7. Definitely.
  • How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
------------ Truly, it depends on the day. Mondays to Thursdays are a bit busier for me, but I spend about 2-3 hours. The rest of the week is normally around 8-10 hours a day. Lately has been a bit slow and busy for me with school. However, I'm certainly not inactive.
  • Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
------------ Yes. I have moderated Warrior's Life, and Strawberry Smoothie. Strawberry Smoothie was however a pretty slow website, and died out after about a month or two. The forum, unfortunately, was deleted, so I'm unable to retrieve a link. However, I have a link to the page where I found Strawberry Smoothie. This is it.Warrior's Life is currently still an active site, but I had to retire because I lost interest in the roleplays it was about.
  • Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
------------ Of course! It's my favorite to draw on because of the smoothing tool, actually. It's a great program! ^^
  • Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
------------ Pffft, that's basically all I do. I don't collect pets anymore (I trade them for art nowadays), and the thing that keeps me on CS is the forum, but morely the Oekaki forum! I love the Adoptables section because well, I love animals. But I love to check the other forums to see the great art and to learn from it! It's quite entertaining to see the different styles of art from different people. On my friend's list I have all these artists who I check regularly for new art.
  • Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
------------ I would love to be an Oekaki moderator for several reasons. First, I absolutely love art. (At school, all I do is draw. :P) I love making art to express feelings and because it's takes my mind off of things. Second, this would give me great opportunities to learn about leadership and even about art! Thirdly, it will help me get to know more people! I love meeting new people and getting to know what they are like. Fourth, this site has done me great service as a get-away. Really. It has taught me quite a bit about the different cultures, different art styles, different techniques, etc. (And not just about art! It taught me what an Okapi was. :P) And just out of respect, I feel it is my time to give back to this site. ^^
  • Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position
------------ Certainly! Oh my gosh yes! Where do I start?
------------ 1. I have a lot of experience with the Oekaki program. Although I'm not exactly someone who could have made it, I know quite a bit from it by reading guides, watching users on livestreams, and experiencing hours of it myself!
------------2. I can be strict, but I am not unkind. I find it essential to be very kind and understanding when dealing with issues. I also have the patience to deal with people. I do know that it takes a lot of patience! Moderating at Warrior's Life has taught me these things and has really impacted my life as a whole, not just of the internet.
------------3. As a Christian, I am very modest. I find being modest an important aspect of moderating because you know the guidelines of what is appropriate and what is not. However, I have experience with situations that may not be so modest. I can deal with adult situations because of what I have experienced. On Warrior's Life, for example, I've had to moderate a chatbox. A member's father had posted on there that they could sue us if we didn't do out jobs. We had to have a lot of patience with those members and deal carefully but strictly with them.
------------4. I've had a warning before. From copying the Bunny lineart... (Ashamed to say...) It was over a year ago. (Maybe like a year and a half ago.) So I've felt that side. I take it has a learning experience however, and never again do I dream of doing that. But I feel this helps me because it has given me understandment and wisdom and even experience. I feel that that is a very important part of being a moderator.

Thank you just for reading my form! Really! I respect your choice no matter what, and if you feel that I'm not fit, that's okay. I'm not here to win, I'm here to help.

Postby Capn_Bunsif » Wed Feb 27, 2013 2:59 pm

What date did you register as a CS member?
I registered on June 11, 2012. Just a while over six months.

How many posts have you made in the forum?
I have made a total of 757 posts.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I try to visit every day unless I can't due to previously scheduled plans.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Normally about two, but on non-filled days, three to four. I try to be on more but sometimes my schedule is often filled.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.
I have not because I haven't found an open position. I might have registered for one whether it be here or another site.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes I have but I cannot any more due to me having no more Java. I am not the best but I tried.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
I spend a large amount of time looking at the boards but mainly looking at intermediate or most popular because I like to see the abilities and evolutions of people's art. The beginners board is one I browse too to see if there are any talents waiting to be brought out.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I have never held a position on anything really. Yes, I do have no prior experience but I love to help people out.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
I can bring anything from my normally caring nature to being able to help someone if they're having trouble using the tools. Just because I cannot use it anymore myself doesn't mean I don't know how to.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity and good luck to everyone who enters!

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2-3 on weekdays, 3+ on weekends.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: No, I have not, but I have monitored many of my own art shops/adoptable threads on the CS forums.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? I have been using the oekaki since I joined the site. (about 3-4 years)
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes, I visit the board often.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I like to see all the boards clean and well-organized, especially the oekaki because it is probably my favorite place on the forums. I would be very happy to help with this. It honestly sounds like an all-around enjoyable position, and seems like something well-suited to my skills and that I could do easily.

What date did you register as a CS member?: Sunday May 6th, 2012 at 3:51 pm CST
How many posts have you made in the forum?: 2139
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: All seven! I'm usually never away unless I'm at a friend's house or visiting family, but that's usually in the summer or maybe around Christmas.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: All together on an average school day, I'd say it adds up to about 3-4 hours. I take breaks, of course, though. And on weekends.. Maybe more than 6 hours.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: Unfortunately, no, I haven't because I'm the most active on CS, but I've moderated a few adopts on CS and know how to handle situations such as spam and questions appropriately.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Yes; I draw on it almost every day, even though I don't post a majority publicly haha. xD But yes, I've used it a lot of times and draw on it with my tablet a lot. <3
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Yessss. Sometimes I'm the one to give an unliked drawing a like, other times I'm commenting on how much I like their drawing. C: It's sort of hard to find an oekaki drawing in the boards that isn't cute/cool/stunning/..
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: It's probably my dream, to have that dark purple name and be able to moderate the oekaki boards. :D I can also handle mature content that is posted and handle everything with no hassle, even if the user is enraged and won't give up their fight.. It'd also be fun to help out the users with their questions about the oekaki; I'm quite familiar with it. <3
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?: I can help out users with questions about the oekaki since I know how to use it; as in with the tools and what they do, what a 'hex code' is, et cetera. I can be mature and am overall calm when I want to be; I usually never get mad online. I can also help new tablet users with how to set up pen pressure and give them the link to the download, and give them steps. It's endless, really. <3

    Goodluck everyone. :D <3

Re: Oekaki Moderator Applications NOW OPEN

Postby Klyse » Wed Feb 27, 2013 3:26 pm

What date did you register as a CS member?:
      September 23, 2009
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
1890 (1891, if you count this one)
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
Usually seven, but no fewer than six.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
2.5 to 6 hours, depending on what I'm doing. I tend to take my time when drawing on the Oekaki.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I am an admin ("Harold") on this site. I've been on the owner's sites for almost two years, and have been a moderator or admin on most, if not all, of them. They've since become inactive, though.

I also moderate on the "Tattoos" thread in the Adults Chat (18+) section of the forum.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
      Yes, frequently.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes, I love looking at everybody's art and giving them feedback if they ask for it. It's very interesting to see other people's styles and browsing the Oekaki boards is a great way for me to pass time.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I want to be an Oekaki Moderator on CS because I think that I have the experience to be able to do the job as well as the passion needed to perform it. I'm both experienced in Chicken Smoothie itself and in all of the Oekaki boards. Since starting to use Oekaki here on CS, I've learned how everything works and how to abide by the rules which have been set. I feel that I'd be able to help most users which need assistance and if I personally can't help, I'd be able to lead them to another member of the staff who could. I love the community which has built since the beginning of Chicken Smoothie and I would love to be able to help out around here, especially with something I find such joy in. Since joining the site, I've had the wonderful opportunity to communicate with many members of the current and past CS staff and they all seemed to love their positions here.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?
I have 410 drawings in the Oekaki boards (and counting), 26 drawings since the New Year (Yet I have more than 100 un-posted Oekaki drawings right now). I have enough experience with these boards to be able to confidently help other people work with Chibipaint as well as help them navigate the boards. I also know how all of the tools, settings, and layer options work on the program. I have no issues viewing gore/blood nor nudity, and feel that I would be able to respond appropriately in any situations which may involve those, other broken rules, and having to move drawings to a different board. I'm fairly sure Shaania, which is the site I used to admin for, runs off the same general locking and moving routine that CS uses, so I wouldn't have to be taught how to do that. And, lastly, I'd like to think that when I do have to deal with conflict, I'm good at resolutions and explanations.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and for considering me as an applicant.
