Water Lupin

The rarest of all the Lupins of Natura are the ones who reside in natural bodies of water. What sets them apart from the other Lupins is that they have many ribbons that seem to be naturally made by them, bells with the purist sound much like the tinkling of water droplets, hard to find because they are only the size of a hummingbird. They are peaceful creatures and mostly shy, hardly ever showing themselves to any creature, quick to flee from anything they think could be dangerous. They move extremely quickly, the fastest of all the Lupins, so they are often used for carrying short messages small distances.

Wandering amongst the dunes that littered the coast with the salty air flowing freely in the light breeze, one thing standing out of place oddly at the crest of the next dune before me. I watched it closely until it came to a stop, looking to the thing-or creature as I discovered -with curiosity, approaching slowly. It saw me as I came slowly up the dune before high-tailing it out of there, leaving me to choke on a cloud of sand that trailed after it and the tinkling of bells. I left the dunes with confusion wrapping its icy claws around me, returning the next day only to have the same thing happen. A few weeks passed before I was able to approach closer, though it was near the waterline this time. She was a beautiful creature with rich coral-ish patches amongst white fur and brilliant old bells on her. This time she wasn't as shy but still ran when I came closer. Almost three months had passed before I was close enough to have gained the trust of the girl-whom I had taken to calling Rilletta-to touch her, to run my fingers among her soft, luscious fur. A bond was formed and time strengthened it enough that we are closer than anyone else I've known.



I will make a lot of art of her as she is fabulous and I would likely write a story around her or based upon her. It would also be likely that she would be one of the main characters I used in, well…everything. There isn't anything that I wouldn't do with this beautiful girl. I couldn't imagine what would stop me other than what your limits are of course.

The size of a hummingbird.


One breezy morning, I had decided to take a walk in the park across the street. The candyfloss clouds were serenely floating by and I settled down near the pond. I had brought a bag of bread to feed the ducks, but today there were more than just ducks in the pond...

I carefully tear the bread into small pieces and threw them into the pond.After a while, I noticed the ducks weren't getting any bread at all! I threw an extra small chunk and watched carefully.While the bread was still in mid-air, something else had darted out and snatched it! Now that I paid more attention, I could here the soft tinkling of bells. I wasted lots of bread before I finally saw where the petite creature had been hiding. I ran around to the other side of the pond and plucked it like a flower out of a lily. It was a small wolf-like creature, draped with ribbons and bells. It squirmed in my hand but I took out my last slice of bread and it stopped. It quickly nibbled the edge until the whole slice was gone. I let it go, knowing I had earned it's trust.

I took her back into my house and set her on the table. We stared at each other for a while, and I decided to give it a name. In my head I somehow knew she was a girl, but I still struggled to think up a name. She hopped onto my shoulder and clinged onto the collar of my shirt. I laughed, "You just can't let my go, can you? Just like an angel watching over me-" I suddenly stopped. Of course! The name Belldandy from my favourite anime "Ah My Goddess!" suited her perfectly!

Now she is my little goddess, our never-ending friendship growing everyday.

I will make her a page on my character site (her own page or under 'Adoptables', you choose) and write short stories about her. I will draw and order art of her, find a mate for her (if you allow it) and everything you can find under
"love" in the dictionary =^-^=
