About Horgons
Not much is known about them but they seem to be a mix of a horse, lion, and dragon. They are as large as draft horses and their wing span can reach up to fifty feet. Some have horns while others do not. Only the males have the chest, back leg, and chin hair. From what we have seen they usually come in natural colors but it is not too uncommon to see them with dark green, purple, blue or red coloring/markings, but rainbow tends to be more rare and only occurs in markings and in the mane/tail. They also normally have very brightly colored eyes. Horgons are omnivorous, feeding off of most any plant or small animal(mostly lizards or rodents). These creatures are warmblooded and can survive almost anywhere they can find food, except in the open ocean. They have long life spans, the oldest Horgon known being 157 years old, and he is still alive. Horgons over the age of 147 Are known as Elder Horgons.
The elders are the wiser and stronger Horgons, They can have a companion but They can only have a dragon companion if they have lost one of their senses or something along those lines. Possible companions for one that have not lost one of their senses would include:
A phoenix
A Mini Kirin- extreamly hard and rare to become companions with
A Fairy
Some little facts about Horgons:
`When they fight they prefer to just try and scare each other with displays of their wings and rearing.
`If A fight becomes physical they will kick and hit each other with their heads/necks like giraffes to before they resort to biting.
`Their wings are not leathery, they are acctually covered with a fine, soft, short fur
`They have long manes to distract a predator or rival from attacking their throat.
`They roam over very large areas or are just nomads.
Horgon Age Guide
(there is no actual system to age your Horgon, but you can not age your Horgon to an elder without permission. These age guidelines are simply so you know where your Horgon lies in its maturity when you choose to age it)
0-2 years-completely dependent on their mother
2-4 years-Still young foals/children but are more independent
4-10 years-older foal/child and can mostly take care of themselves
10-37 years- this is like the teen stage of their life
37-60 years- young adult
60-149 years- adult
149+years- elder
Horgon Sub Species:
There are two currently known types of Horgons, the Mountain Dwellers and the Valley flyers are what we call them. Mountain Dwellers are more uncommon than Valley Flyers and have a stockier build and thicker fur due to the cold high climate they live in. Valley Dwellers tend to be more slender with longer legs for running across the open fields they call home. Their coats are thinner and they are much more agile that their larger counterparts.
