The sand-colored wolf-like creature sat back, uncertain and worried. Was this the right one? Was this the faerre he had been searching for? The one to accompany Noisuf and him on adventures? He shifted nervously, his mouth was dry and he intensely afraid of the crowd around him. A courier choosing to leave Vinara was a momentous occasion and everyone seemed to be emerging from the shadows to try and bide for this little fox's attention. Nimbus, obviously, was one of said suitors.
Nimbus was shy by nature, and all of the people pressing in and chattering excitedly, made his fur twitch. He flicked his tail, swallowing hard. This was only his second time coming the Altar, and he still was not used to the crowds and merriment. He had hoped that joining in with the winter festival would help ease his nerves, but...circumstances made him even more wary. If it wasn't for Noisuf, his new friend, he wouldn't even be here. However, the blue commoner had wanted to take care of a few things before they left on their journey and had suggested him checking out the alter while he waited. So here he was, waiting in line, crowded and his stomach twisted in knots and he tried to figure out what exactly he was going to say to this tiger-striped courier.
Finally, it was his turn. He sucked in air, his knees trembling and a numb sensation slowly spreading through him from nose to tail tip. He swallowed hard again and walked forward, blood roared in his ears and his ebony black claws making soft tick tick noises as he made his way across the stage. "Okay, okay calm down, you got this. Just focus on Yarps and not the dozens of people around you." He tried to calm himself down, but it only made his nervous jump and jolt even more. After a few more shaky steps, he was standing before the blue furred Faerre.
He let the breath out he didn't realize he was holding tried to squeak out his first words. "Hello." His voice was an undignified, pitiful squeak that was nothing more then a whisper. He heard a few snickers from the people behind him, and some people impatiently shuffled their feet. "Is this dog for real?" His ears drooped and he looked a his dog like paws.
"Hello Yarps." He tried again after he found his voice and gathered his courage. "My name is Nimbus, and my friend, Noisuf, and I are currently planning a trip outside of Vinara." He shuffled his paws and lifted his gaze to that of the courier. "We were wondering if you would like to join us on our trip? We have plenty of room for one more traveler, and your fleet footed skills would be much appreciated on our travels." He flicked his wings nervously, and curled them against his back tightly. "Your ability seems like it could be quite useful on travels. You could sense the intention of strangers and maybe even locate trouble." He said a little cheerfully, his tail curling against his back and wagging slightly. He looked back down at his paws meekly. "That is if you want to travel with me and Noisuf. It may not be as exciting as courier duties, but.." He chuckled slightly as he remember getting into trouble at the festival. "But believe me, there will be no lack of adventure if you come with us."
He dipped his head at the striped fox-like creature and took a few steps back, nearly running into the other suitors. He padded over to a section of stage that was empty and waited for the Faerre to make his decision. His paws itched with anticipation and he was silently cursing himself at his pathetic atteming at 'wooing' but the die was cast and he only had to wait to see where they fell.
