The golden Ahzenai gave a soft sigh, obviously unhappy with the job he was given. Moving to stand beside Valcyon, he requested permission to give a much anticipated announcement to the people of Ahzen. He took a nervous breath before speaking, his voice eerily familiar. "People of Ahzen!" He yelled, the rich tone carrying easily through the air. "I have news of a discovery! My name is Malik, and I am not only born of the Vortex, but also of two Ahzenai that have dedicated their lives to one another." He paused briefly, collecting his thoughts. "Once a month, under the light of the full moon, two mated Ahzenai can combine their elemental energies and form a tiny orb of light, known as a Zha. This light then travels to the Vortex and is later born as an Ahzenai. As the others that emerge from the Vortex we are born fully grown, independent and able to care for ourselves, but we are born with a strong connection to our parents."

Looking up to the cracks in the roof of the cavern, he smiled. "The full moon sets in three days, and it isn't too late for Ahzenai to bear children, though there are only a few spaces in which Ahz may join their energies, so gaining access to one of these areas will be difficult."

To keep things orderly and parallel to the normal Ahzenai procedures, Onyx and I have discussed some rules and guidelines 8D

-I will open up two breeding slots per month, usually around the second or third week depending on school and life. Onyx may open up her own, and the same for Bear. If all of us open slots, then there will be around 6 available breedings.

-Adopters must compete for a breeding slot; they are completely free, but the competition will be tough.

-Do not: (a) ask when breedings will be open; (b) ask to reserve you a breeding slot; (c) post a form when breedings have not been opened; or (d) complain if you don't get a slot. I trust most of the people on the thread, but I'm putting the warnings out there just in case. If you do any of these, then you will not be able to order from the next breeding round (your form will be ignored).

-The Ahzenai you wish to breed MUST be in a real relationship. No one night stands, please XD

-Breedings ARE NOT limited to male-female Ahzenai couples. If you have two males or two females that are in a relationship and wish to have a cub, then that is fine since cubs are born of their parent's energies joining and not a physical joining.

-Cubs gain some personality traits and skill sets from their parents, in addition to their appearances. A cub's element is random and not affected by lineage.

This is the form you will use to apply for a slot, and I will choose the winner in about 3 days.

Tamani

Tamani is something of a free spirit. She knows what she wants and when she wants it. Tamani also is quite the traveler, she loves exploring and is constantly in search of new places to investigate, the more danger, the happier she is. With that in mind, she isn't really the best companion and she knows it, it's her fatal flaw and while it does make her feel slightly guilty she has made no attempts to better herself. Tamani is also extremely intelligent, with an eye for strategy she can figure out a plethora of escapes and options within a situation and thus is perfectly suited to her favourite activity of going to dangerous places and exploring them. Her quest and hunger for knowledge is insatiable and its quite probable that she will be on the hunt for adventure till the day she dies. Of course, Tamani has a softer and gentler side to her as well, she really does love Kat but isn't the best at expressing her feelings verbally, her "love language" tends to be through the artifacts and items she discovers on her journeys and brings home. If you happen to be on the receiving end of one of these gifts you can be assured that Tamani cares for you and holds you in high esteem.

Parent #2:

Rhinn
Rhinn has always been a gruff and silent type. He's slow to answer, and always thinks through his actions before committing to them. That being said, his appearance has caused him to be placed in many dangerous and painful situations, which has led to him becoming an excellent fighter and keen strategist, able to make snap decisions when placed in dire positions. He's a wanderer too, not staying very long in any one place and not really having a destination in mind. He sort of latched onto Kat and her little group of Ahzenai, and fell for Tamani, but he doesn't really boast any connection to Kat herself, and simply comes and goes when it suits him.

Offering 1:
Tamani pranced on light paws across a sunlit meadow, her blue eyes twinkling with happiness, as she shot a devilish grin at Rhinn. The generally reserved male shot her an amused look and sprang forward on his own powerful hind legs towards her. The two proceeded to engage in a frivolous game of chase about the meadow, the experience ending only when Tamani tripped, causing Rhinn -who was close behind- to stumble and collapse on top of her.

Startled Tamani let out an alarmed squeak, her eyes flashing with surprise at the sudden weight landing on her. "Oof! You really need to lay off the meat my dear!" She teased with a snort, "Or else you'll squish me quite completely and there'll be nothing left of me!" She declared with musical laughter. Rhinn for his part let out a rumbling laugh, and prodded her gently with his tail.

"Really now? Coming from you that's quite hypocritical! Last I checked the one with a bulging belly was you, not me." He said with a purr, a smirk twitching across his muzzle. Tamani feigned a gasp of horror, and mock hurt spread across her face. Rhinn, choosing to play along, assumed a face of concern, "Oh no, no my love! You are beautiful! Distended stomach or no!"

The female Ahz shot him an amused look and pulled herself away and onto her paws, "Distended? Really? Oh Rhinn, you say the sweetest things." And with that Rhinn pulled himself to his paws as well, and -with tails twined- the two of them walked away together. Their sides brushing intimately as they silently declared their love to the world. Love kept no record of wrongs, and was easily forgiving. So it was that the two could walk in such perfect harmony.

And in time they wooed the other

And found in fear they'd lost their way
For far too long thought all was lost
That they would pay a weighty cost

But then under the lonely sky
One night she sullenly did lie
Tamani found she could not leave
The very thought caused her to grieve

And in a flash she had a thought
A shred of wisdom verily caught
That love is not 'bout happy bliss
But rather all the things you miss
The sacrifice you make
Bad habits that you shake.

For love is founded in humility
The ever-lasting stability
Of two hearts willing to let go
So that true love will show.

So she ran to find her heart
Never again from him to part.
And on that night they reconciled
Beneath the shining moon that smiled

Anasael is hyper, carefree, and outgoing. She loves to explore and see what all the world has to offer.she loves to talk to anything and anyone and will chatter all day about anything and everything if you let her. She is a bit headstrong and won't let anything keep her from her decision after she has already made it. Anasael is kind and caring and is loyal to her friends.

Taleras

Like Anasael, Taleras likes to explore, however he is a bit more cautious and careful when it comes to new places. He is a nervous, timid Ahz, but his is also super sweet and kind.

Offering:
It was a somber night, calm and quiet and every forest creature would typically be asleep. However, there was one creature that was making his way through the thick undergrowth. It was a large creature crimson, gold and black furred creature. His ears were laid back and his eyes were narrowed. He was obviously upset, his thick furred tail lashing back and forth in agitation. The large male Ahz sat down, his tail wrapping around his back paws and he dipped his head sadly.

He was so lost to his own thoughts, he did not hear the soft paw steps of another approaching Ahz. “Taleras.”His ears perked up, and he whipped his head around to meet the vivid green eyes of the dark brown female. He looked back down at his large, black paws. “Anasael.” His voice was barely a whisper.

The brown female sat down next to him. Her green eyes softened as she looked at him sympathetically. “Don’t listen to Anamerak. He just thinks he is above everyone else.”

He sunk his claws angrily into the soil. “Yeah, but he is right. I’m a coward and weak. I’m not special in any way. I…I want to make a difference.” He said raising his chin.

“You’re special.” Anasael said softly. She leaned against him. “You’re special to me.” She said softly. “I love you, you know that right? You don’t have to be powerful, or brave. I already think you are perfect, and you just need to believe you are too.”

Taleras turned his head and smiled slightly. In just a few short words, his heart was soaring, high above the forest. “I love you too.” He whispered softly in her muzzle. They sat together, enjoying each other’s warmth and comfort as the moon rose into the night sky.

Ryko is a quiet and stern soul, often appearing taciturn and calculating. However, he has a gentle soul and can prove to be a wise teacher and companion in times of betrayal or need. Appearing older than his real age, Ryko often times gets confused for an elder Ahz, where in reality he is one of the youngest. This does not stop him from being deeper than most though. Because of this, he's capable to grasp situations easier and can maneuver around them when they pose a problem. This makes him an invaluable companion and lover, as sometimes life can get tough and it takes one companion to know how to stick with the other through it all.

Zennith
Clumsy and a bit of a coward, this big girl is nothing but a softie; almost like a big teddy bear.

I HAVE RETURNED, DEAR FRIENDS, AND I BEAR A GIFT.

As the various characters in Ahzen attempted to woo the returning Ahzenai, the vortex flared high. This time, it was in shades of beige and ocean blue. The vortex swirled and churned madly until a curly-horned head pushed through the center. The emerging Ahzenai opened his eyes and wordlessly leaped to the ground.

He glanced around at his new surroundings with a blank expression, then yawned widely. There were quite a multitude of people here, it seemed. And not all of them were even human. “Maryaeth!” Valcyon announced. Maryaeth licked his teeth. This would be interesting.

The Ahzenai made his way to a raised rocky area in the cave and sat himself down silently, giving everyone a stern glare. He was fully willing to take a partner, but he was picky. Very picky. If he had to choose one word to describe himself… Maryaeth licked his paw in thought. …It would be militant. Or perhaps draconian. Yes, draconian worked nicely. There would be no nonsense with this particular Ahzenai, and he expected everyone to treat him with the respect he deserved. Anyone acting too familiar would be dealt with…with tooth and claw if need be.

He greeted his first wooer with a snarl. Oh, he would enjoy sinking his claws into his first victim, be it a particularly unfortunate wooer or an enemy.

Xalvador is a dark Ahzenai, he dislike human and pretty much anything else. He is cruel and distant, but he has a soft spot for one particular Ahzenai. An Ahzenai who changed his life, Xerses. He will go to extreme measures to get what he wants, and has a short almost child like temper.

Parent #2:

Xerses



Xerses is a very soft gentle soul, he sees the beauty in everything and he almost always smiles. He is very graceful, and is much smaller than his mate, but he makes up for it with his personality, despite seeming like a pushover he can get pretty intense when he feels its right.

Late, the night was already falling. Xalvador paced impatiently, his glowing eyes darting about angeredly. He had promised Xerses he would trust him, that he would not go out looking for him. But he could not help but worry, he was the jealous type, what if he was out there with another Ahzenai, how unfair this was. He growled and plopped down onto the ground his ears flattened with irritation. His dark eyes keeping watch on the entrance.

Soon Xerxes entered, his small lavender frame like a like in the darkness to Xalvador who jumped to his feet rushing over, he growled. "Where have you been?"

Xerxes glanced up his eyes rounded slightly, he blushed lightly. "Itosis needed some help with Honk," he looked down, sitting his tail wrapping around his paws. "He is always such a help so I could not say no to him, I owed him afterall."

Xalvador frowned, he hated the idea of Xerses being with another man, he could not stand the idea at all. "You were there all this time?" He glared, without realizing it, his thoughts blazing at the thought of itosis.

Xerses gave a small smiled blushing softly. "please do not worry, you dont have to fret about any of the others.." he gazed up at Xalvador. "I love you, and I promised you, I will never leave your side." He tiredly blinked.

Xalvador growled, pushing xerses gently with his nose into the corner. "Never mind any of that, just get to sleep, I dont need you getting sick. It would be too much trouble." He growled as xerses quickly fell asleep cuddled into his mate. Gently, Xalvador began to groom him, tenderly. He remembered when they had met, he had done such evil yet thebeautiful boy had loved him, no matter what he did to him. He smiled tenderly and rested his head on his back. "You are my better half Xerses. I love you."
