Deuce was awoken by the insistent vibrating of his phone. With a groan, he blindly threw his hand in the general direction the sound was coming from. He knocked down at least three things in his messy process to get to the phone, which he finally unearthed under bag of half-eaten chips. His siblings, exuberant that they had finished their college finals for the semester, came home declaring that the night previous was to be a party night (and their parents were conveniently out for the week for some anniversary or something). Deuce, while he didn't mind staying up (during the holidays, he was pretty much nocturnal, anyway) and certainly didn't mind his siblings having a good time, didn't join in on the festivities. He stayed up with them, certainly, but he didn't share their happiness. The exams had gone terribly for him, which was nothing new, but his recent relationship developments were bothering him quite a bit.

He opened up his phone--a flip phone, very low tech, indeed--he saw that the text was from Sierra. Immediately, he felt his face lift with a smile before he forced it down. No, no, no, he was with Bonnie now. He shouldn't be this happy that Sierra texted him after all this time with no contact whatsoever to the point where he thought that she had found out --

Okay, chill, Moriarti, Deuce thought to himself. Christ, Bonnie never made him this nervous. Sighing, he responded with a very general message.

Hey. Doing fine. My brother and sisters came back and they threw themselves a party last night. Im tired. He did not reciprocate her "xxx". He wasn't sure if that was appropriate, and anyway, what if Rowan found out? That guy made Deuce nervous (not that Deuce would admit that easily). He didn't want to set him off for no reason. He sent the message and settled back into bed. He wondered sleepily if Bonnie had something planned for them today. Well, if she did, she'd let him know. In the meantime, Deuce convinced himself to doze off for a bit longer.

___ The light slid through the blinds and onto the weary bright-eyed boy as he slowly awoke, the feeling of a something lightly brushing him under his throat. Focus. It took a few moments for his eyes to settle and for him to adjust the morning air, yet when they did- they fell to Sierra who was hovering over him, and suddenly a light smile pulled on the edges of his lips as he heaved himself up under the covers- using the head-board to support his back. "Morning doll," he murmured to her softly, using his thumb and forefinger from his right hand to rub the sleep from his eyes. The warmth from being under the covers had disappeared, and the chilling air clung to his bare skin, making him slightly shudder. December air. He turned to Sierra- her blonde hair falling down her shoulders and cascading over her shirt- a few pieces framed her face. His eyes looked her over and he pulled himself slowly and kissed her on the forehead softly, pulling back with a teasing smile- the bittersweet smell of coffee arose in the air, and settled. Breathing in deeply, he chuckled lightly, and turned to see the mug in-hand. Explains the strong smell. Coffee was like crack to him, a bit of an unhealthy addiction. He'd made it a point to atleast drink a cup a day, and always had time to spare to run down the small café downtown.

Unlike himself, Sierra had pulled on a shirt- long-sleeved, a fading and neutrally-colored button-down. He settled with it being her fathers, remembering to find it in the laundry basket a few times around. His eyes wandered to her face, her eyes gentle yet bright, seemingly she rose with the sun and had always glowed just as bright. He couldn't help but feel redemption. The early mornings of the winter vacation had always left him a little off, considering he didn't have to wake until later. Yet as his eyes flickered to the illuminated numbers on the clock he had realized early had still lingered in the morning, and later wasn't until a few more hours. But the early-risings of Sierra hadn't bothered himself, just left him curious as to what she did when he wasn't awake. Not that he worried, just his curiously always got the better of him.

perry   cornelius   mako

Cuak cuak, cuak cuak. His Blackberry beeped against his leg, inside his pocket. He had turned the volume up, so he didn't miss
Astra or Reese's answers. He thought it would be Reese's answer, begging him to let her sleep instead of sending her stupid
messages. But he was wrong, it wasn't from her, it was from Astra.

Of course. See you soon (:

She was coming. Perry tried to think what was left for Astra to do. Probably half an hour of make up, another half for her
hair and another hour to dress up. Girls. When would they understand that a boyfriend didn't need make up on their faces or
fancy clothes? Perry could do with jeans and a sweatshirt, but she'd come dressed with a skirt or leggins, or whatever she felt
like this morning. With a sigh, Perry left his phone on the kitchen table, where he had been waiting for the answer while
eating some cookies, and started getting everything ready for the Queen's arrival.

The TV was turned on, and slow music was playing. The house felt so alone, but at the same time, Perry liked the feeling of
it, the emptiness, the silence. Sometimes, he just enjoyed being alone. He really liked his parents, his sister, his girlfriend Astra,
but he could also enjoy being in silence or alone. However, too many hours alone were boring. He needed to be alone, but he also
needed people. "What if Astra wants to watch a certain show?", Perry thought, standing in front of the TV, wondering
if there was anything interesting and worthy to see. He liked Netflix better, there he could do whatever he wanted...and his
sister too. But usually, he didn't mind.

His relationship with his sister was strange. They didn't hate each other. In fact, they enjoyed each other's company. But they
also had their own space, space for themselves, for their friends, their relationships... His sister also had a boyfriend, and Perry
liked helping her with her doubts, just like she helped him many times with Astra. "What should I gift Astra for her
birthday?", "Where should I take her?", "Would she like red or white roses better?"
. That was Perry's everyday. And
nights. He could spend nights thinking what to do to surprise her. He was sure Astra loved him, but he wanted her to be sure
about him. "Maybe she just wants a film", he told himself, taking out some DVDs and turning on the Wii. He wasn't
sure if there was any romantic movie there, between all that mess of English soap operas and scary films. Probably Astra
would like something from that mess.

Perry sat on the couch. On his mind, he started to list all the things he could do while waiting for Astra to arrive. Last time
he had checked, it had been thirty minutes since Astra's message. Perry checked again, not impatiently, but confident she
would take her time to arrive. An hour since Astra's message, his clock said. She probably had another hour of getting ready
ahead, and fifteen minutes or so to arrive to his house. Perry sighed. In front of him, the TV was turned on, something about
relationships and the problems they used to carry with them. Perry changed, zapping until he found something better, something
so he could avoid thinking about the relationship, and its problems. He wasn't sure if it was better to confront the problems
or avoid them. Both options seemed horrible.

Perry got distracted by the steps at the other side of the hallway to the apartment. Could it be...? No, surely they were mistaken.
Because Astra was still getting ready in her house, didn't she? The doorbell rang, and Perry walked to the door, ready to correct
the mistaken address. He opened the door... and found Astra standing in front of him.

"Good evening, m'lady. Would you like to come in?"

A smirk appeared on his face as he stepped aside to let her in. Grabbing her coat, he kissed her. First on her cheek, then on her lips,
leaving her coat on the sofa and drawing his arms around her, resting his hands on her hips.

"So...do you want to stay here and watch a movie or something, or do you want to go out?

He said, leaning on the entrance door, awaiting her answer, locking his eyes on hers.

Her eyes were travelling over her boyfriend's jawline as her phone vibrated and checking he was still asleep she quickly turned and picked it up, unlocking it with the hand that wasn't holding the coffee. There was no reply from her brother (still sleeping she assumed with a smile) and she opened the message from Deuce, a smile twitching on her lips at his siblings party.

Good to know; I hope you actually joined in? Tell them I say hi by the way. Tired? Didn't think you'd be nocturnal already ;3 xxx

Many years of both knowing Deuce and his ways meant that Sierra knew that over the holidays, if you wanted to see the boy, it was best to go over there at night. When he wouldn't be dozing off every other minute. She hit send and then heard Rowan stirring. Quickly she dropped the phone onto the bedside table, clearing her throat slightly to cover the clatter. She didn't want Rowan asking who it
was and ruining their morning. She lent back to accommode him moving up the bed and let a proper
smile overtake her features at his morning greeting. "
Morning Ro, " She mumbled in reply, cheeks
turning red slightly as he kissed her on the forehead. Sierra handed him the coffe, making sure he
had definitely got a hold on it before she withdrew her hands, and then turned to pick up her own
      cup. "
Made just how you like it." She pointed at his mug and then took a sip of her own coffe, his
glance towards the clock not going amiss. "
It's not too early is it? We can go back to sleep if you
      want?
" The blonde shrugged, reaching back and pulling the hairband from her hair. Most of the blonde
waves had fallen out already so there was no point in keeping it up. She ran a hand through her hair
and then took another sip of her drink. Although she liked rising early she wasn't aware that the two
had anything planned and she wouldn't mind a lot if Rowan wanted a few hours more.

_______Reese St. Claire__
these violent delights have violent ends.

---------Reese was a morning person. That's all there was to it. Every day she woke up at six to go for a jog in Central Park, no matter the weather, simply to get away and have some time for herself. There was something about running that was relaxing; it gave her a moment to clear her mind and focus on something other then life. All she needed was her iPod, a water bottle and her worn-out shoes to escape reality. It was a beautiful thing. This day was no different - she woke up and got on the train that got out right at the start of her favorite walk. Something felt better, though. Her parents had left the prior night for California to visit her brother at his dorm for Christmas, not that she'd minded. He was accepted into UCLA the previous year and they really wanted to celebrate, leaving Reese alone to fend for herself in the city. She'd been waiting for this day for weeks. Time was abundant now, so she'd be able to out more often with Aiden and possibly hang out with Perry [ despite the fact that Astra would't ever let him out of her sight ] free of supervision and curfews.
---------Slowing to a walk, Reese took a few shallow breaths as she brought her bottle to her lips. The cold air was nipping at her flushed skin, her cooling sweat making her shiver - the dull, fiery ache in her legs was slowly dulling as she stopped at a bench, using it for support as she stretched out her sore muscles. She'd never ran this far before; going around the park twice was a major accomplishment. Her legs felt like irons, though, dragging her down so she was sitting on the cold, damp bench. Reese's running shorts did little to protect her numb legs, though her long-sleeved tee kept her arms from falling off. Breathing deeply and exhaling noisily, her breath came out in a hazy white fog that steadily drifted up and dissipated into the morning air. Thick, cotton-like clouds were collecting over the city, indicators that snow was on it's way. She was ready for it - the lack of snow this time of year was a bit alarming. All Reese wanted to do now was curl up in her empty apartment with some apple cider and a bad rom-com, but she knew Aiden wouldn't want to do that and being alone sounded terrible. It was times like this that she wished she could have Perry to herself, minus the witch - he'd do it, even if he really didn't want to. But those days were over. Astra had him and wouldn't share him with his best friend.
---------"Damn. Oh well," she sighed to herself, pulling her phone out from the waistband of her shorts. While she'd been running she felt it vibrate, indicating that she'd gotten a text. Seeing Perry's name on the screen, she quickly unlocked her phone and tapped on the message icon. Her clear blue eyes quickly read over the three words, bringing a laugh to her lips.

      to: Perry
Parents just left. :D Freeedddoooommm!!! Are you busy? Come on, get coffee with me! We need to do something sir.
      from: Reese

---------Standing up, Reese grabbed her water bottle and started walking back to the subway station. She scanned her metro card and quickly made her way to the landing, balancing her phone and bottle in her hands hazardously. The train emerged from the dark tunnel with a roar so familiar to her ears, her eyes trailing on her phone screen as she stepped on to the train. The people around her were bundled up in warm coats and jeans, making Reese stand out like a redneck at a fashion show. Her black running shorts and pale blue shirt looked all but ridiculous compared to the people surrounding her, but she had grown accustomed to the strange looks she received in the winter. Blowing out a gust of air, she quickly typed up another text, this time to Aiden.

      to: Aiden
Morning. :) The parents just left for Cali and I'm bored. Want to grab some coffee?
      from: Reese

---------It was stiff and uncertain, but it would suffice. Her stop was coming up - as soon as the doors opened, Reese was off. Her loft was a block away from the stop, located in the upper-west side; simple by any standards. Jogging up the steps to the entrance way, she turned to the right of the building. The real entrance to her home was on the side of the building due to the fact that they lived on the top floor - another family lived below them. It was spacious where she lived, though; nice and open, the loft provided everything the family needed. Large windows, plenty of space - it was perfect. Climbing the stairs, she pulled out her keys in preparation for unlocking the door. Once inside she set her few things down on the couch and slumped down on the soft cushions, resting her phone of her abdomen as she flicked the television on. The shower could wait.

BONNIE SELENA GRACE
the "mismatched" pair

_____________________________________________

Bonnie woke up freezing, shivering to the bone, waking up in almost a shock. Pushing back her messy brunette hair she let out a sigh. There was no more school and she'd have a whole winter break to spend doing really whatever she put her mind to. Which for her would usually be something new and exciting, but in the frozen winter of New York she couldn't really think of anything, though with her there was no doubt something would come up. Forcing herself out the safety of her many blankets her light eyes traveled the silent room. Everything peaceful for once, was something going to go right in that house for a change? After standing still for a few seconds with her goose bumps any worsening the petite gal was frightened by a loud crash. There was no doubt in her mind that it was that little brat Samuel, but if she wanted a place to call home she better not act upon it. The thing in that house was that Sam came first, then Abby, then Bonnie. She was kind of like Cinderella in the story. Except with out the Prince Charming or happy ever after. Speaking of which her mind went straight to Deuce, snatching her phone the shivering freckle faced teen took a seat on her messy bed. Bringing up a text she stopped herself. She had dated many times before, and her clinginess seemed to be the death of all her relationships. Bonnie sat the device on the night stand with slight sigh. He's probably not even awake."

Pulling a pair of jeans and a sweater of her freezing body Bonnie still didn't feel any relief. Was her father draft? Abigail usually had the bills through the roof by having the heat insanely high in the winter months. Stomping out of her room she spotted Sam running past.
"Morning Sammy." she mumbled with a forced grin, this stopped the boy who looked at her with the same evil smirk. Or maybe that was just the way he smiled, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. "Bonnie, there is something on your shirt you slob." though his voice was high from only being ten years of age it still carried the same hateful sharpness like his mothers. Looking down to spot the stain her tiny step-brother hit the tip of her freckled nose and stopped her foot before dashing away. Energetic as she was, even this early in the morning she decided to go after him, but when he seemed to disappear she stood alone breathless and confused. "Bonne Selena Grace!" the angry voice of her father boomed from his office. It was a while before she peeked her head in. "Good morning, father." an innocent peep escaped her lips. "Keep it down! Your seventeen now and I expect you to act like it! You know I am trying to work, and your moth- Abigail is still sleeping." Bonnie scrunched up her face in frustration. "But dad, Sam-" the small teen was interrupted by another outburst. "Don't you dare go blaming this on Samuel" then the brunette did something you would never expect, not from her. "I hate you." but her voice didn't sound angry, though it still carried the same sternness like her fathers.

Slamming the door behind her she fell into the pile of blankets, but was no longer cold and shivering. Instead she was shaking for other reasons grabbing her phone again she starred at the blank message she had left. Typing many things into it she eventually just ended up erasing them. Wiping her eyes Bonnie took a deep breath and wrote the first things that came to her mind.

      to: Deuce
are you up for hitting the café this moring? or anything really, just to get out of this house.
      from: Bonnie
After starring at the phone for what seemed like ages she sent the brutally honest text and tossed the phone to the side. Though she was usually the positive one, she wasn't feeling it this morning. But she knew when she saw Deuce that would all change, and this winter break would finally be off to a good start.

    ᵐᵃˡᵉ | ˢᵉᵛᵉᶰᵗᵉᵉᶰ | 'ᵐᶤˢᵐᵃᵗᶜʰᵉᵈ' [ ᵇᵒᶰᶰᵉ ]

With another loud grumble, Deuce threw out a hand to find the vibrating phone. God, who was texting him this early? How did people wake up this early? School was one thing, but during vacation Deuce thought that people were supposed to sleep in--and more than an hour more than usual. He'd met people who'd never slept past eleven in the morning during their breaks and he always had to ask how that was possible.

Good to know; I hope you actually joined in? Tell them I say hi by the way. Tired? Didn't think you'd be nocturnal already ;3 xxx

Deuce blinked blearily at Sierra's message and felt a twinge of annoyance. He was trying hard to stay true to Bonnie. Honest to God, he really was, but trying was different from actually reorienting his entire chemical structure to be attracted to Bonnie instead of Sierra. And God, she wasn't making it easy for him with her stupid triple "x"s and her stupid emoticons that made her so adorable and caring and really concerned about if he was having fun with his life or not and if she could just notice and save all of them the trouble. It would be so much easier...

His half-formed reply was interrupted by a new one--Bonnie's--so he put the text away for later and opened up hers. Immediately, he groaned again. He definitely wasn't in the mood to go anywhere that morning--especially with Bonnie, who was a serious source of emotional hair-pulling at the moment--but he couldn't exactly avoid leaving the house for the entirety of winter break. Sighing in a resigned way, he replied, Anything you want. I can get ready in ten. I can meet you there if you want. He sent he message and chucked the phone onto the floor someplace before collapsing back into the covers. Until she told him that it was a definite "yes let's get going", Deuce was determined to stay in this bed for as long as he could.

Emmett Carson Vicks -- post 1

Postby wolfie. » Sat Jan 05, 2013 5:19 pm

    -- emmett
Emmett was startled awake by the sound of an alarm going off. He ignored it at first, wrapping the blanket over his head in a feeble attempt at blocking out the sound. It failed though; the alarm rang on and on, seeming to get louder as each second passed. Eventually he couldn't take it anymore and fumbled his hand over the top of his alarm clock. "Damn you, Kacey," he grumbled under his breath while he managed to switch the alarm off. He knew he hadn't set the alarm- because who would do such a horrid thing when sleeping in was an option? His father had left two days earlier with his girlfriend, so the only person in the house, himself excluded, was his little sister. Kacey was fourteen years old and quite possibly the most irritating sister on planet earth. Emmett couldn't bring himself to yell at her though; he was far too tired. Instead, he crawled clumsily out of the twin-sized bed and headed out of his room.

After walking half-naked into the kitchen to get himself a bowl of cereal, Emmett quietly pondered over what he would do to occupy himself. He supposed hanging out with Roarie was an option, but he was reluctant to even consider it. He didn't particularly like the girl, but dating seemed to have its requirements, and being together every other minute seemed to be one of them. Outside of school, he and Roarie didn't spend a lot of time together, but Emmett would rather be with Roarie than his aggravating little sister. With a frown upon his face, he went back to his room and snatched up his phone. There were no new text messages, but Emmet paid no attention to that fact. As he scrolled through his contacts, he briefly paused over the name 'Jessie.' She was on of his few close friends, and texting her didn't seem like a terrible idea at this point. He couldn't bother himself to do it though and continued scrolling down without amother moment of thought. Once he reached Roarie's co tact he quickly typed out a message and pressed send.

      Morning. Are you busy today?

Emmett didn't stop to think about the text or whether or not he should word it differently. He didn't need to to, and he never had needed to. He tossed his phone back on his messy bed and wandered back downstairs with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders.
