That, my friends, is why she's literate. Even in OOC, she can take a measley sentance, and turn it into a freaking paragraph! Maybe you should give us tips! :} For those of us who are stressed anyways.
I agree though. I know how a lot of you post, and I remembered how fun if was to be illiterate. Hell, I remember making my first role play, and how I almost cried because two people joined. It sucked, whereas my friend's role play was so successful, a v.2 was made [petty, I know]. But then again, I have no freaking clue how I was accepted here. I looked back to the links I posted for the club, and went "oh my god ... What happened?" I've been looking through my old posts recently, and I found a role play where my character had a mate within SIX PAGES. wth CITY? But I loved it. I just want the stress to be gone!

Everybody here has joined a role play [at least once], and stopped posting because their muse is low. I know it. And the role play died. Everybody knows that it's hard to keep a literate one alive. Most of ours never even take off! I'm seriously just about done with slots. I'm freaking done. If I only get four characters, and they're all anxious to join, so be it. I'll close the role play, and we'll enjoy it! [and Tals needs to join one from here -_-]

Well, you can expect much from me. If you knew me back then, well, same old same old, so yeah. Shoot me a pm!

Speaking of looking back at our acceptance forms...
I can't believe I got in, actually x3 Only a few months and I've gone from poor Semi-Lit to literate. I'm actually really proud of myself for improving since I joined, and I have you guys and all my awesome partners to thank. I'm constantly stressing about how to reply to six paragraphs, but it's probably the reason I've gone so far with writing. /hugs/

I'll be honest. My favorite roleplay was illiterate. Pure illiterate, and probably my first roleplay ever. Oh, the dreaded one-liners. Yep, I was one of them. x3 But even back then I was a pretty good writer, I just didn't expand beyond a few sentences.

gosh- I was just like you. (I really do wish to go back in time and just join illiterate roleplays. They were like- so much fun!)

I am the person that expect full paragraphs, but dreams of one-liners (ironic huh?). It takes too long sometimes in literate roleplays and it dies :3

I never did one liners, actually. I started out with three or four sentences per post with good grammar/spelling/punctuation. And I do not want to go back to that, actually. I don't spend my whole life on the computer although it may seem like that, and when its a literate role-play I feel as if my partner will be much more patient.

Dude you guys when I first came on here I was like "why is everyone asking that I have reading abilities isn't that obvious" when they asked for literacy. Do you guys realize that, compared to my actual books, I am not going to bother rambling on and on about my character's internal feelings if I don't have to? For chrissakes, I joined HP rp when I first joined here and I maybe posted 5 lines per post and we has to make a second thread because we posted so much. And for that rp, 5 lines was a lot. And then j go into a lit rp and people are like posting wip posts and I'm like "what's the point in posting an rp post that's A WORK IN PROGRESS" in a group rp when everyone else is posting too? And for godssakes, if it takes you three days to finish your wip post and everyone has moved on without you, what was the point in posting? If you were truly literate, you should be able to whip out a good post in an hour or so. That's what I think. Longer, depending on how long you take to type and such, but Jesus, you should be able to finish in one sitting.
And I hate it when owners accept people who are clearly not literate because they're pals or whatever. It's fine that you're friends but god that doesn't exempt them from the rules. I freak out when I see I've made a spelling error on my form or a phrasing mistake and then this other person there has all these grammar errors and confuses "comma" with "embellishment" and they're accepted. That makes me question if the owner knows what literacy is.
Why in the world would I bother writing 5 paragraphs? who wants to read all that? honestly, who wants to read 1947201 paragraphs about someone waking up in the morning? I don't. If I saw that in a book, I'd throw it back on the shelf. Do you know why we deny people with perfectly correct grammar and 4paragraph samples? Because out of those 4 paragraphs, maybe one is actually constructive. Everything else is just fluff. I don't need to know she woke up and whined and went to the bathroom and got changed into her favorite pink sweater and went downstairs and had a conversation with NPCs (this also annoys me: when people can't think of anything else so they just make conversations with NPCs. You're controlling them. It doesn't count.). Do people not understand length does not mean literacy? I joined an rp once where 5 paragraphs were required and quit after my first post because I could not think of anything to say. What the hell do you talk about for five paragraphs? Who wants to read me rambling for five paragraphs? It's a damn roleplay, not a novel, we're making. We don't need all the crazy out there descriptions of her hair tips. What we need are actions, reactions, and speech. Everything else, really, is almost unnecessary. Especially in roleplays, the amount you can post plot wise is limited (unlike a book). Do not tell me I'm illiterate. I am perfectly capable of posting five paragraphs. I wrote 86k words of a novel in one month. But I am not wasting my time, and I don't feel like wasting yours later, to write a post about how great the gazpacho is. Unless it comes up in conversation, I skip over paragraphs where the character is internalizing about their terrible past. I didn't come to the rp to hear sob stories. I came for the plot. Do you actually think I read all that .-.

Of course, this is not applicable to all situations, but this is how I feel in group rps in particular.
God I wanted to vent for such a ling time

Edit: sorry about spelling errors. Fast typing + phone =/= accuracy ^^;

@ asian
I agree. So many of the literate roleplays here bend the rules for other people so often. I mean, naturally you're not going to post an entire novella in a single post, but they can attempt to know what words to use in certain situations and sound grammatically correct. After all, it's not centered around length, it's about the way you write and how descriptive you can be. I mean, sheesh. No one is going to write a hundred paragraphs about a character sitting on a park bench.
The tides changed ━ it's time to go home.
The waves said I should go; the wind began to blow,
and the water got tall.
And that's when I went home.

Yes....just...yes xD Unless it's onexone, I find I end up quitting when I can't get past one or two paragraphs.
      >> onexone roleplays are a different story for me, but let's be honest: do you really think all the other members are reading through every little detail of your character? I think not. I worked my butt off the other day for a group roleplay coming up with a massive post and due to my character being flawed and very paranoid, guess who was ignored?
