Ash blushed underneath her silver coat. "Oh, Raven," she whispered, feeling like a love-struck pup. Raven smiled, flashing gleaming white fangs that other wolves feared. But with that happy grin lighting up his face, there was no way she could be scared of him. "Ash, you don't know how long I've waited. How hard I've tried..." He trailed off and gazed up at the stars. "Well, maybe you do," he chuckled softly. He turned to face her, his smile fading as his eyes became serious. "I swear, I will protect you. I will be with you always. No matter what happens, I'm not going to lose you." The silver wolf placed her paw over his mouth, silencing him. A tender smile made its way onto her lips, blue eyes shining with reflected moonlight. "Don't worry about the future. Focus on the present." Ash's delicate paw dropped onto the ground as Raven looked at her lovingly. "I wish I could stay here forever," he murmured, laying his head across her back. "Forever," she breathed, closing her eyes.
