As said I think the ancients will be bought by rune money that Bena will create. Yet, I again hope for no real money for those darlings. ^^'

Re: Adoptable Rune Dragons

Postby Silverhart » Sat Dec 15, 2012 11:53 am

I admit - I'm both nervous and excited about this whole new site. Mostly nervous actually, because I've seen many a good site die.

I'm sorry to pile on more questions, but I'm trying to figure this out. How will the dragons on the new site be adopted out? Will it just be you click a button and adopt? (like here on CS and most virtual pet sites?) Or will there be a form to fill out? I'd really miss the forms if they went - I enjoy reading all the stories, and writing up the forms myself! I find it a lot of fun and it makes each Rune so much more personal. Will there still be something like that on the new site? Also will there be any kind of limit on how many dragons you own, or will just basically be collecting them like you collect pets on CS?

I'm nervous about the change - but you guys are amazing. I have trust that you'll do a great job with this site, and will support it 100% (I will be joining of course!) I guess I'm really nervous about the new site growing a community that gets too large or unruly or just losing it's friendliness - and also all the changes that might make the Runes less unique. I shouldn't worry about this stuff, since I know you guys probably have it all under control, but I do.

And to add a note - I'm not sure if I like the idea of my Runes being remade into new lines to be adopted out to others. (If that's what you mean. I'm trying to catch up on all these posts. XP) I won't be opposed completely to it - they're your designs after all, but I don't think I'd like it very much. But like I said, they're your designs, and if that's your plan I don't want to stand in the way of it.

The currency is actual money but will be purchased as Rune credits for you to spend.
Basically the same as it is on CS or Umbria or the such.
However, there will be a trading system so you are likely to get them without money too. ^^

To answer your questions Silverhart, it would be too difficult to do forms for such a large site and we have made it to where you can simply adopt the Runes and they grow on their own.

There have always been many Runes of one species but you simply got just one of them. You can see this in our stories and even in the Nocturne Runes, there are other variations besides the ones you own. What we are doing is showing you other variations of it while also recreating and using past designs while making up new ones. As stated before, you will get to keep your original design but there have always been other Deep Sea Runes that you have yet to see.

I kinda agree with this part. Not so much with the nocturne, because I adopted her with the expectation of another, but I would be a bit dissipointed if there was another Pictish Beast rune, as in my stories she's the only one. But it sounds as though runes adopted here already will continue to be the only ones adopted of that species, yes? Even if, like the desert rune for example, there are others out in Eldemore?

That makes me feel better, Bena. I thought they might just be copies of the originals with new lines. But seeing the variations will be fun. ^^

Anyway, like I said, I have trust in you guys with this new site. There may be a few things I don't like, but overall I think the new site will be an awesome experience!

All in all these are just pixels guys and in the end we are always trying our best to make them special. Just give the site a chance and if you do not like it you do not have to join in the end. It's very disheartening to hear so much opposition towards what we have spent months creating, but as I have stated I understand where you are coming from. But please, all these doubts are not helping and I apologize if it feels like you are loosing the uniqueness of your Runes. We are trying to provide something more for everyone to enjoy is all and put a great amount of time and effort into this. All we ask is for your support and understanding, if all this fails you can take solace in the fact that it shall be re-opened here in the end.

I do appriciate all of those who are looking forward to this and hope we can change the mind of others once we show you what we have created. Thank you for your continued support~ Thorn

Thank you sis, it means a lot to me and I am happy to have you at my side to help me along the way.

As for your question Tiki, your original Rune will be transferred to your account but only if you inform us on the thread we will set up for this. However, there will be other Runes made of Nocturne or any of the other species with similar designs but they will not be the exact same to yours. We will have a thread set up to where you can tell us who you are and your account name and which Rune you owned so that we may transfer them as a one of a kind custom for just you to keep. It will be the exact same design of your Rune that you had here just on your account on the new site.

Sounds good to me! Thank you very much for responding so quickly, and for answering my question so thoroughly! :D
Please feel free to call me Aure or Aurora.
Thank you Neelix and SplashofOrangeJuice for the lovely art of my JBD Summer and Pocketmouse for this art here!

Sobs*
Hopefully I will get at least one rune before it closes

Congrats though on taking it up a notch and making an actual site. Hopefully it will go great.
I know that I will join!!!

I do trust you Bena that you will make this site good for all of us Rune owners. I have a good thought that this might sound scary for some, yet once it gets going it will be good for us. I mean, I know you won't make it totally money based, or make us worried. So I am looking forward to it, and I can't wait to see it coming this new year. <3
