You could do a sort of mini-guardians thingy, which consists of warring tribes of good and bad superstitions. There could be a black cat, a shooting star, a broken mirror, stuff like that. :3

Also, you guys need to read Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. It's like Guardians, but with assassins, a sympathetic DEATH posing as a version of Santa Claus, a castle made entirely of teeth, the true terrors of childhood, personification, belief, and the ancient meaning of Yuletide holidays. (EDIT: Oh, yeah, and did I forget the Auditors of Reality and a ferociously competent nanny who happens to be the granddaughter of DEATH.)

to whomever said about the mirror thing;; i used to think that too! i actually wrote the introduction to a story about it as well and when i have more time, i'm hoping to expand on it. glad it wasn't just me ^^

childhood beliefs;; father christmas, mother nature, tooth fairy, tooth mouse [my friend believed in this; basically, instead of a fairy a mouse would come instead and it would take your coin and put a piece of cheese there for you, idk], easter bunny, jack frost, mrs manners [this was this thing my mum used to do to try and get me to have manners. she'd pretend there was this woman who would come and tell me off if i didn't have manners. so if i left the table without asking to excuse myself she'd be all "mrs manners will come!" and i'd be all "oh d*mn" and go back because i was scared. i always imagined her as about really tall, twenty foot maybe, really skinny, like a stick, and with scraggly black hair sometimes in a bun and long fingers and black eyes and pale skin and gold-rimmed glasses, again, idk], fairies, unicorns [all mythical creatures i guess], shootings stars, walking under ladders etc., pegasus, neverland, narnia, hogwarts [being serious]... hope that helped c:
