:Night Fury: wrote:I'm working on three different fanfictions right now.
Unexpected Connections: Babs returns to Ponyville a month after her last visit, still guilty after bullying her cousin and friends and decides to apologize properly by spending a couple weeks there. She witnesses Twist being bullied and stands up for her, getting bullied with more menace than what she expected. Apple Bloom, Babs and Twist looking sad organizes a sleepover and they share stories. Babs and Twist find friendship and connections through telling stories of past bullying experiences and they let it blossom, ending with Twist joining the Crusaders.
This story will contain the shipping of Twist and Snails and will revolve around the Crusaders, mostly on a Babs Seed and Twist friendship. Will be shown from Twist's point of view and Babs's point of view.
Surprise: Surprise never got any recognition. She trained hard, performed amazing feats and worked harder than anypony to make herself known, but she is still thrown into the shadows of Spitfire and Soarin'. When Fleetfoot quits, things escalate to a dangerous point. When she and her fellow Wonderbolts are injured during a sabotaged show, she sets out to find the culprit. Her only clue being that Spitfire and Soarin' weren't injured. As she searches for who did this to her and her friends, she is in a race against time to find the culprit before they slip through her hooves.
I was looking at the list of Wonderbolts and saw that Surprise was one of them, so I based the idea around her never getting any recognition. This will contain heavy shipping with Spitfire and Soarin' and will be seen from the culprit's point of view, Surprise's point of view and Spitfire and Soarin's point of view.
Quicksilver: After being defeated by the Elements of Harmony, Nightmare Moon awakens in an endless black dimension. As she travels the obsidian world, she discovers she can create laws and structures from her will and magic. As she constructs a world from liquid silver and even silver ponies, she begins to wonder. She has everything her heart has ever desired, eternal night, no Princess Celestia and subjects who are loyal to her and hang off every word she speaks. But is she really happy?
This story light shipping but mostly just a strong friendship between Nightmare and an alicorn stallion she created and will be from their points of view.

Trixie the Ultimate wrote:I really hope Trixie comes back for another episode! I love Trixie, and I don't see why people hate her so much. After all, being a one pony magic show, showing off her skills is part of what she does. I think that Twilight was kind of being mean to her, because after all, her showing Trixie that she was better at magic was pretty much just doing the same thing as Trixie was doing to her- showing off. And it pretty much ruined her life. Also I was quite disappointed to find out that the Trixie's amulet had nothing to do with Sombra...
Daring Do wrote:I liked the new episode, I guess. At first I was like, FRIKKIN' TRIXIE GO DIE IN A PIT.
But then my fannon-creating instincts awoke! Now, we all are lamenting over how Sombra didn't show and all that crud, but isn't that how Sombra became evil? I think it is. Maybe, just maybe, he used it once, a million years ago. He used it too much. And he became evil. One day, he took it off (Somehow, maybe because it was making his neck sore?) and none of the magical and evil effects wore off.
SO he continued treating crystal ponies as slaves. Then Luna and Celestia got tired of this crap and went down and turned him into a shadow. Then the rest happened in S03 E03.
After that, that stallion unicorn with the (Boss) monocle and the braid found the amulet and recognized it. He put it into his little shop of curios. Then, a long time later, Trixie appeared in his shop and bribed him for the priceless (Apparently not anymore) artifact.

A ponysona or any sona is meant to represent you, It you think you as a pony would be an alicorn then go for it! They don't have to be realated to the princess or anything. So what if its not very realistic, Its not realistic for *spoiler* Zecora to have magic either is it? An OC is original so it may be original to have an alicorn if you think about it. I don't like it when you have a ton of alicorns but thats just me, I have 2 alicorns at this point in my charrie hoard.

Has anyone heard the colt version of This Day Aria? What's your all's favorite gender-swap songs?
I'm not a huge fan of gender-swap songs from the show. I like genderswap originals since a lot of them are originally sung by men and covered by women. My favorites are the female version of Eurobeat Brony's Luna and the female version of The Moon Rises by Ponyphonic.
Rainbow Dash wrote:Spoilers and harsh opinions lurk below.
This episode was meh for me. I know the Trixie fanboys are beside themselves because OMGTRIXIE but she's such a boring and unlikeable character. I really think the only reason she came back was because of the fanboys, otherwise she would've just gone down in the books as a villain they needed to make an example out of. As usual, I will blame EQD's creepy obsession with Trixie for this episode. And I will continue to do so.
The one good thing about this episode was more Zecora. Because that zebra does not get enough attention. Apparently Zebras can do magic without horns so that kinda adds more to what we know about them. Coolness.
The ending when Trixie was asking for forgiveness I went "oh heck no" because I thought they were gonna pull a Trixie fanboy fanfic ending when Trixie changes her ways and becomes nice 5ever. Thankfully, they didn't drop the ball and go with a fanfic-ish ending and they kept her egotistical personality, even after she was forgiven.
Overall, I didn't like it all too much. I'd watch it again, but it's not a favorite. I think that this episode was blatant fanservice and had a loose lesson on friendship at best. The lesson was a copout "you can do anything with your friends" and it felt stuck on like the animators went "oh right, we need a lesson."

Discord Trixie art! xD (I didn't draw it, don't credit me!)
That's pretty good. But I doubt that someone as mediocre as Trixie would be the amazing and chaos- wreaking Discord's apprentice.

I must say, I'm somehow disappointed. I was so freaking excited for this episode, and seeing Twilight's magical abilities grow, and even though I wouldn't have expected her to get on Alicorn level, the fact that she was cheating during the whole performanec was... wyeah, disappointing.
I don't really like seeing Twi play dirty =/
What I liked, however, was the Star Wars reference scene
Master Yoda now Zecora is?
Oh, and Im wondering - if the Necklace allows ponies to gain the abilities of Alicorns... do Alicorns need them, too? Celestia and Luna are wearing theirs all the time. Would they be able to perform their sun/moon raising spells and stuff without them as well?
Do the necklaces MAKE alicorns/ are part of that?
All in all... I liked some minor aspects of this episode, but the ending was, at least to me, disappointing in a way.
I hoped for more development.
At least we got an apology from Trixie. That was kinda cute. And made up for the harsh ending of Boast Busters.
Sad that she went so soon, though .-.

simbafan wrote:Guys don't talk about LPS. This isn't the LPS club after all x3
Ehhh. I'm not sure what I think about the new episode. I feel like they left out a lot of important details about the little things. Why would such a powerful amulet only be put in hiding? Why not give it to Princess Celestia? Why didn't Twilight go to Cadance or Luna or some other form of royalty about Trixie? Why wasn't there a lesson? How come Trixie didn't learn anything? How come she ran away again?
I also felt like Trixie got off to easily. Sure she apologized which was great but that still doesn't really make up for all the emotional and physical damage she caused on everyone. I mean, she took over their town and turned them into slaves and all she gave was an "I'm sorry"? If that happened to me I'd be all "Get out of here and never come back."
Wh-where those horses from Saddle Arabia? HORSES? IN MLP? MADNESS I TELL YOU.
[size=50]I don't know I thought it was a really cool episode, it just had a lot of plot holes.
Twilight Sparkle wrote:Okay, here are my thoughts on the episode.
I loved Twi's character in this episode. I loved it. She refused to fight Trixie at the beginning, and told her to stop instead of fighting back. She only agreed to the duel to protect her friends and to stand up to them, which I think really says a lot about her character. But she didn't win the duel, which also says a lot. I'm happy that they're fixing the fact that she had some mary-sue qualities, and in this episode you see she can't do all types of magic.
When Twi was thrown out of Ponyville by Trixie's magic, I felt like we had a missed oppertunity for Twi to have some great character developement. If she had told her friends she lost fair and square, I feel as if it would have been better for Twi's character. Instead, we did get a moment when they spoke through the glass, where Twi said she would go {Any other Whovians feel pangs of sadness because of Doomsday?}, but I feel as if that scene of her leaving could have been better played out.
When she went to Zecora I was really happy, and although I don't get Star Wars, I loved seeing Zecora and the realtionship between her and Twi. These scenes were further proof Zecora is just a boss. {Uh hello, did you see her nifty magic?} She played such a great character in this episode, and her whole lecture on focus actually reminded me of Master Shifu in Kung Fu Panda. Speaking of that scene, I enjoyed Twilight breaking down in the water because of the almost bullying, I would call it, that she recieved from Trixie. It was a defining character trait for her, and it gave her a character flaw that we haven't really seen before- she's affected by bullying when people tell her she's a failure. That really got to me.
I loved Fluttershy in this episode, especially her lines as the animals drag her away into the forest. She talks about wanting to hide in her closet with her teddy bear, and I just loved that. It was really sweet and she was very much in character this episode, which I enjoyed. Also, the nail biting gag was a nice little comic relief at the beginning.
The way the problem of the amulet being solved was handled was actually something I really enjoyed. I knew Twi's amulet was going to be a dud, but I did suspect that Twi was going to have her friends pose as each other. Look, I think we can agree that it would have been awesome if Twi could have done the magic, but it would have made her a mary-sue. Instead, she and Zecora used their smarts to solve the problem different, and proving, that Twi can't do all types of magic, which makes her not a mary sue. Here in this episode we get to see that Twi's magic isn't perfect, and sometimes she has to rethink her problems because of this. This, I loved.
What I did not enjoy about this episode was Trixie. While Twi, Zecora and Fluttershy really shined in this episode, Trixie was the stuck up little brat she normally is. And don't come crying to me that she 'was possesed, it isn't her fault.' That's crap. The intro into the episode clearly showed she was full of rage and just wanted to harm Twi in anyway possible and take away everything she cared about. Trixie obviously understood what the amulet was and what it would do, and bribed the store owner to give it to her. She isn't innocent, and she knew what she was doing. Maybe she didn't mean to go so far, but she set out to hurt Twi. And for what? Revenge that wasn't even deserved. Twi didn't meant to humliate Trixie, she was protecting her town. If you watch Boast Busters again you'll see it was never about showing up Trixie, as she had self confidence issues and only acted when her friends were in danger. Trixie, while the rudeness she got afterwards wasn't really deserved, wasn't Twi's fault. It was the other ponies in the cities. And really, what it all stems down to, is that it was Trixie's fault for bragging so much.
In this episode Trixie bullied, abused and turned characters into her slaves. She changed their bodies, physically abused them (she whipped Snips and Snails, remember?) and emotionally abused them too by being so mean. She created a dictatorship, and while she may have been under the influence, remember, she knew what she was getting into. Trixie was a butt awful, terrible character who only looked out for herself and was hardset on revenge.
In the end, Trixie apologized to Twi. I was not pleased. After everything she's done she gets away with just an apology? Really? After abuse that's what she gets away on? Ridiculous. Blaming it all on the amulet was not only innaccurate, but a bad choice. Trixie should have learned her lesson the hard way, not by being kicked out, but by being forced to do community service or the like. Or she should have been left up to the mercy of Celestia. The handling of the episode was not done well in this sense. Besides, what message does it teach kids? "If you do something bad, claim that something influenced you and you won't get in trouble." No. Just, no.
This episode had buckets of shipping fuel. Buckets and buckets full. I don't ship any of the mane six, but for all of you who do, enjoy lots of Rarijack, Rainbow Shy, TwiDash, SpikexFluttershy, Twishy and SpikexTwi. You can read a lot of things into this episode if you're a hard core shipper. Rarijack was in there a lot, I noticed, though, and it makes me wonder why the writers seem to be angling this way. We've been getting a lot of it this season.
All in all, I enjoyed certain characters in the episode, but the ending with Trixie saying she was sorry was terrible and wasn't handled well. I would rate it a 3.5/5 stars because of Trixie and the ending. Based on the characterization of everyone but Trixie, I would give it a 4.25/5 stars.
