~Chapter 1~
It was a stormy night. The wind whistled and the rain poured. And there, I stood there, in the mud, snuggled up with my mother. I was born only afew hourse ago, and was already in the eye of a storm. I was a little, bay, waggy and right now weak colt. My coat was already soaked with rain, my short mane and tail had looked like chuncks of old straw, soaked old straw. My little hooves, they where 'oh so little'. They where sinking into the wet mud, that used to be lush green grass. My eyes where half closed, as I shivered in the cold, whistling wind, that was trying to knock me off balance. But my mother was there, she helped me. She was soaked too, just like me. She was a tall, proud mare. I remember very little from that time, but I think she was crying. I looked around, but saw no one, nobody at all. We where alone, completly alone. Or was it just what we where thinking? I dont know, I was a foal. And remember that time very weak. But I do remember on how there was a light, the light shooted from the sky and clouds and crashed right into the tree about 7 meters away from us. That was terrible, the tree was split in half and was now catching on fire. The terrible smell of burnt wood filled my nose and eyes, burning them. I was starting to think that this first night for me, was the last. As the cracking of the fire had gotton loader, my mother bent her head and whispered into my ear. What did she say? I think she said "Come on little one. We have to move" and I obeyed her. He started slowly walking away, away from the fire. We did have to hurry before it spread, although back then I didnt understand that. So I just followed. I had too, I knew I had too...
