Sparrow

so far both males are doing good caring for their fry. the halfmoon fry look to be a tad older than the delta tail fry. i wasnt home when they hatched, but im assuming they are around 12 hours apart or so. there are far more in the delta spawn, and im a bit concerned about the halfmoons, since i watched the pair spawn and there were a lot of eggs, but i dont see as many fry as i thought i would, but then, the water is pretty dark and the lighting in my room is awful. i may do a partial water change tomorrow. he did very well with his first spawn, but im hoping this time around he didnt decide to eat them. i might remove him earlier than i used to, just in case. the fry will be about 3 days old which is right around when they start free swimming anyways.

as for where they will go when they are ready? i plan to keep some, the others i will sell to my local fish store. they take excellent care of their betta and make sure they go to good homes (they always ask a lot of questions to make sure they know how to care for them properly). i just updated my site a little. there is only a page for the delta tail until i can get a better picture of the half moon fry.

as for your bettas, they are pretty, i love your second crowntail =) double double ray =D

Thank you, and I am still stalking, so I totally saw the updates. P: I'm interested in how you plan on doing your Spawn Log.. I saw one up not to long ago, and now you've got two more started, but not quite finished as the links are broken. I do appreciate the complement on them, and Grimble. You have so many gorgeous fish of your own, I love them all, but mostly your Lace Turquoise/Black Halfmoon (ID: BLHM). He's drop dead gorgeous. You're so lucky to have such good looking fish. :) The only problem with Grimble is that he's probably the most aggressive fish I've ever seen. He'll shred anything you put in his tank or hold above it. If you have anything up to him, no matter what it is, he'll flare at it. You can imagine how bad he is with females. My friend as well like him out of all of my Bettas and asked if she could borrow him for spawning, I was reluctant but she practically got down on her knees and begged. He ended up killing one of her best females. :/

Sorry if I'm not posting often. I've got a few things going on in real life. I've also been having week-long migraines so bad that I cannot see. I hope everyone understands.

Sparrow,

That's too bad. And did your heater system break or something? Well, hope they are better soon! :) Still though, wonderful colorations on them :). and my betta (which we actually named alpha...hehe. get it?) he's just a common veil tailed betta, with butterfly patterned color, with the colors royal blue and brightish purple. He also has a bit of a mask. I got him from Pet's Mart. Nothing too special, but I'v grown to be quite fond of him. :D

i am limited to how many pages i can make on that website until i pay for pro, which i cant afford right now. so i am only putting up spawn logs for those that i still have. the others have died. the steel blue half moons page has been hidden until i can get better photos of the fry.

some of my bettas are random chance, i just happen to have luck with stopping by places when they are just getting an order in! lol. well, i know when my local store gets theirs in and i try to hit it, but everywhere else is just kinda stumbling in and finding a neat looking betta. the black lace, red wash delta and the two crowntail females were from petco bettas, as well as my big ear delta that is in my community tank at my fiances. all of the other fishies are from my local store.

also, i love the black lace as well, but hes got some issues so i may not breed him, as much as i want to. his anal fin is really long, he has a spoonhead, and his tail looks to be a mild rosetail, which could bring scale deformities. i could breed him, but i dont know how these issues would affect the fry.

i had two other gorgeous crowntails but i got ick in the tank they were housed in and they died =( but here they are, these were the two that started my obsession:

3000, he sounds gorgeous. About the heater,no, I didn't have one. The room I stayed in stayed a constant 80 degrees or higher which sucked because it was hot, but they thrived in there. We just had a situation where we had to move out immediately and we're stuck in a basement which is freezing cold. My boys are all around sick, and I can't get heaters for all of them, but perhaps I will get a divider or two and put a heater in my large tank so they can at least get a bit more healthy. I agree with Maniac Jay; Pictures. P: Don't worry about critisizm of pictures, Lol, I take mine with my phone camera..

Maniac, I totally get it, no need to worry. :) Aww.... that sucks. :/ They are very wonderful looking and I have no doubt in my mind they would have had great spawnings.. I love the coloring and the pattern on the two of them. When I go into the fish store to get something specific, I always sit there admiring the colors and patterns of the Bettas for like half an hour. XD My friend has gotten so tired of it she'll make me go around the long way of the store to avoid the betta racks. I still catch a sideways glance occasionally and I start towards them and she drags me off. I was at a point where I had gotten so many fish, I had about 23 betta fish, soooo many tanks to clean. My best friend ended up taking all but the two Crowntails I have left, and then I got Phoenix and Unnamed..They were all Crowntails until about three months ago when I got Phoenix and my unnamed boy. :) I love the Fins on the Crowntails and their personalities are amazing..

I am tempted to post pics of all my fish, but that would take a while and I need to get to work now. I'll post them when I get home.
