From the vast expanses of space comes an odd creature. Adapting over time to it's living conditions, the Xeno Dragon was born....
What exactly is a Xeno Dragon?
A Xeno Dragon is an alien species, having found it's way to earth after their home planet was destroyed. Several young dragons and many eggs survived on chunks of rock, giant floating islands in the sky now. Those that hadn't crash landed onto other planets didn't survive long. This massive creature is both land roaming as well as aquatic. Their gill-like nostrils are capable of filtering any kind of gas or liquid into oxygen. Their ways of feeding are much like a spider's, as they lack a mouth. instead, they have a proboscis type tongue that expends from a small slit where it's mouth should be. They mainly eat fruits, often crushing them with their feet before slurping it up. The aquatic dwellers will siphon water in, feeding nearly all day long on tiny plankton and other small fish. Anything that will fit in it's tube can easily be swallowed. Their two front legs are powerful, but bulky, the second set positioned further outside of the first. Their spines curve outward, but are capable of bending in half if needed. This makes them flexible, capable of squirming away from larger predators, though this is left from their days on their home planet. The Xeno Dragon has a large set of orb-like eyes, always bright and shiny, though they lack pupils. There is a smaller set below them. These eyes are capable of seeing perfectly in any level of light, even zero light at all. This helps them survive in the depths of the ocean. While being a species of dragon, they are still capable of producing heat, or rather need no heat to survive. Their bodies are capable of living in subzero, as well as extreme heat. These dragons can be found roaming all locations, be it a forest, in a volcano, on a mountain top, in an ocean, in the arctics, or even in a city. They bond closely with their humans, having an empathic link, capable of feeling the emotions of the humans. Their hide is never set to specifics. They come in any color and any patterns.
Growing up:
Each Xeno Dragon has close to twenty brothers and sisters are birth. The survival rate of the eggs are essentially one per clutch. Once the eggs are laid, the parents leave them. The eggs look like very large frog eggs, transparent with the growing embryo visible inside. The hatchling is vulnerable for the first year of it's life, only the size of a kitten once hatched. they are the size of a horse at a their first hatchday. By the time they are fully grown at four years, they are the size of a school bus. If they survive to elder state, they can reach up to jumbo jet size.
