I would suggest maybe PMing Searchlight on the forum, she's extremely helpful and knowledgeable and she's given me a hand and listened to my derpy rodent questions many times

Have you had a look at Terrestrial Porcupines? They might be a little more passive aggressive than you seemed in your RA but they seem pretty good! I looked into them for a while but they were too assertive and blunt for me

Maned Rats are uber cool but again, the total lack of information is a total pain in the ass.
I like the aggression in porcupines, and the fact that they are intraspecifically aggressive. The Long Tailed Porcupine (there isn't an analysis though so note this is my own judgement) seemed very fitting indeed; the way they widen their quills when frightened to make themselves appear tough and intimidating is something I do when angry/nervous myself. Sadly, apart from on ADW, there is a lack of viable information (damnit ffs)
I'd say the best fit would be the North American Crested Porcupine - they are typically monogamous, which is totes me since I get too attatched to one person and end up clinging to them like a disease until they tire of me, and they also give the illusion of greater size when they are provoked or nervous, and if this doesn't stop the torment then they typically attack, which is also similiar to me, since I'm like 'piss off ffs' before going crazy and lashing out. When they feel threatened or aggressive, their quills vibrate to form a hissing sound and I'd take that as meaning they are quite mouthy when aggressive, which is, again, me.
tl;dr - I srsly love these guys, and much love for suggesting them, as I completely ignored them beforehand. I'll need to write up an analysis on 'em though, but the aggression and social aspects - which, esp. with the aggression, are always the downfall for me - are pretty damn fitting.
And if you say they are assertive and blunt well jfc that is me also.
