Can you link me to your RA? I can keep a look out for some species that might work when I fill in the rest of my list :)

Rodents are hardy little buggers, and every analysis I've read so far has been off, though I can't exactly put my finger on what it is. Regardless, my RA is here (never say never, I guess.)

On a plus side, I was also recommended Dasyurids and they seem to be a better fit; especially the Fat-Tailed Dunnart, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a rather in-depth analysis on them, though no doubt my research will (hopefully, fingers crossed) add to this and *maybe* set me on the right track because imo Dasyurids deffo seem to be the right sort of family, at the very least, that I should be focusing on atm.

Not to mention Dunnarts are ridiculously cute and small and jesus christ they look like tiny excited mice.

To be honest, I am caught between a white collie and red haired blue tick coonhoud for a stable form which I am hoping leads to a permanent form. As I stated before, White Collies are similar to my personality. But red haired blue ticks are like me, also. Their breed of orgin is similar and their breedin purpose and characteristics are also like me.
Here is a website on red haired blue ticks:

Thylacoleo is pretty much Thylacine on steroids and a shot of confidence. I'm brash, bold, willing to make enemies if it means staying true to my morals, sure of myself, rather dominating in my social circles, a wordsmith with a degree in pain, and have almost no gradation from "angry" to "headbiting rage."

The one deviation is that I work on impulse instead of plans, which doesn't fit an ambush predator.

Does it ever bother you that you have a long-extinct form and can only base your analyses off of suppositions and theories? What behaviors are you drawing characteristics such as brashness, etc. from? How do you consolidate the trait you mentioned as not fitting with your settled form?

@Warburton, I'll get back to you on the rodent recommendations when I have more time to double check my sources but right now I just can't be arsed. Not all the species listed in Wikipedia, etc. are actually going to have enough information to make them viable settled forms, so don't be intimidated by the sheer number of species. What I did while looking into rodents was go to Animal Diversity Web, type in "mouse" (or whatever), quickly scroll down to the social section, and X out if it didn't fit or check Wiki/Google for more information if it did. It's a good way to get a quick start.

That website is a work of art, goodness knows how I survived without it! Kudos, it's helped a ton. The Crested Rat seems like it could be a potential form, but sadly there is a lack of any decent information about them as a species, so even throwing together a simple analysis on them would be troublesome. I still haven't found a species that truly fits the way I'd want it to.

Fat-Tailed Dunnarts are still looking good, though, and there is a significantly larger amount of information on them than any of the rodents that I was interested in. The Stripe-Faced Dunnart seems pretty interesting - they are a lot less territorial than FT's - but again, the lack of information is driving me up the wall.

I quite liked the maned rat too, it's a cool species!

I would suggest maybe PMing Searchlight on the forum, she's extremely helpful and knowledgeable and she's given me a hand and listened to my derpy rodent questions many times ;)

Have you had a look at Terrestrial Porcupines? They might be a little more passive aggressive than you seemed in your RA but they seem pretty good! I looked into them for a while but they were too assertive and blunt for me :D

Maned Rats are uber cool but again, the total lack of information is a total pain in the ass.

I like the aggression in porcupines, and the fact that they are intraspecifically aggressive. The Long Tailed Porcupine (there isn't an analysis though so note this is my own judgement) seemed very fitting indeed; the way they widen their quills when frightened to make themselves appear tough and intimidating is something I do when angry/nervous myself. Sadly, apart from on ADW, there is a lack of viable information (damnit ffs)

I'd say the best fit would be the North American Crested Porcupine - they are typically monogamous, which is totes me since I get too attatched to one person and end up clinging to them like a disease until they tire of me, and they also give the illusion of greater size when they are provoked or nervous, and if this doesn't stop the torment then they typically attack, which is also similiar to me, since I'm like 'piss off ffs' before going crazy and lashing out. When they feel threatened or aggressive, their quills vibrate to form a hissing sound and I'd take that as meaning they are quite mouthy when aggressive, which is, again, me.

tl;dr - I srsly love these guys, and much love for suggesting them, as I completely ignored them beforehand. I'll need to write up an analysis on 'em though, but the aggression and social aspects - which, esp. with the aggression, are always the downfall for me - are pretty damn fitting.

And if you say they are assertive and blunt well jfc that is me also.

Yeah, I love the porcupines and I'm glad they're working for you :)
I know what you mean, again Searchlight is an amazing help in finding sources and there's also a thread in traits analysis where you can ask for help on finding sources :D

I'm really interested in this and I have a few questions. Is this thread still active?

My biggest question is, what is a good way to find out what your deamon is?

Also, how old is someone when their deamon settles? (Usually)
