Yeah, we just bought a big bag each of EVO cat and EVO dog food.

I have a moral question for you guys. Is it ethical to donate poor quality dog/cat food to a shelter even though you know stuff like kibbles and bits is terrible for them? Is it better to donate a bunch of cheap dog food that could feed a lot of dogs but isn't good for them, or only a little good quality dog food that won't feed many dogs? Should you feed only a few well, or feed all poorly?
Also, it turns out that we have some left over kibbles and bits from before we switched to EVO, and while I don't want to waste it and kind of want to donate it to the shelter nearby, I hate the idea of intentionally feeding that to dogs knowing how bad it is for them. At the same time, that's probably what they're eating anyway, but I'm not sure that makes it right. I'm rather torn on the issue.
She/her, irregular hours but I'll try to get back to you as fast as I can

Honestly, it's better to donate the cheap dog food. It would feed more dogs, and those dogs in the shelters aren't going to be picky about their food. At least, that's my opinion of it. I'd rather those dogs get a meal, even if it isn't that great, than be euthanized because there isn't enough food. Plus, it saves the shelters money so they don't have to go out and buy food.

What about Royal Canin, my pup eats that and she's fine. She used to eat Purina, so it should go atleast a bit higher than that. BTW, my dad used to work in Royal Canin, so don't say its the worst, or I'll get mad. ;)

Eh. Looks almost as bad as Science Diet, which isn't the absolute worst but it's still pretty junk. Wouldn't feed it to my animals anyway.

Chicken meal, rice, oatmeal, brown rice, corn gluten meal, wheat gluten meal, chicken fat, natural chicken flavor, dried beet pulp (sugar removed), sodium silico aluminate, anchovy oil (source of EPA/DHA), dried egg product, fructo-oligosaccharides, psyllium seed husk, soya oil, potassium chloride, salt, sodium tripolyphosphate, L-lysine, taurine, dried brewers yeast extract (source of mannan-oligosaccharides), DL-methionine, Vitamins [DL-alpha tocopherol acetate (source of vitamin E), inositol, niacin supplement, L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), D-calcium pantothenate, biotin, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), riboflavin supplement (vitamin B2), thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), vitamin A acetate, folic acid, vitamin B12 supplement, vitamin D3 supplement], choline chloride, glucosamine hydrochloride, Trace Minerals [zinc proteinate, zinc oxide, ferrous sulfate, manganese proteinate, copper proteinate, copper sulfate, manganous oxide, calcium iodate, sodium selenite], marigold extract (Tagetes erecta L.), chondroitin sulfate, rosemary extract, preserved with natural mixed tocopherols (source of vitamin E) and citric acid

You asked for opinions on that food, but you don't want negative opinions?

Me intentionally eating crap is not the same as me feeding it to my animal. I can make that choice for myself, they cannot make that choice. As pet owners we owe it to our animals to provide the absolute best care possible. If that means not feeding IAMS or Royal Canin and spending $20 more on food, so be it.

Just switched from Purina Puppy Chow to Natural Balance! It's not the best at my store, but I still think it's a lot better than Purina (:

They put poisons in dog food! Wow! Their lucky their not in Germany. Germans are vary serious about animal safety. Even if they don't have any more places for homeless animals they don't kill them for more space. They would probably have to pay for all the medical stuff for every person AND they would have to pay the government AND i think a few years in prison. That is why I am happy to be german, and to live in germany. I LOVE animals and I'm happy they take good care of them.

Seien tierfreundliche!
Auf Wiedersehen

Hellooo everyone.
Currently my dog is on ProPlan(the salmon kind), but I'd like to switch her to something like Blue Buffalo. Is the 'sensitive stomach'(it could just be 'sensitive', I don't remember) salmon + potato stuff any good? I can get a picture of the ingredients the next time I run into Petsmart.
