Well, that explains that then. Shouldn't artists be picked on skill and creativity, not just because they're a friend? Just saying. I'm glad you've given an improving artist the opportunity to make equids and get better over time.

Currently sailor is not doing that many. And she probably won't if I know her (about as unmotivated as me) which is part of the reason why. If I hired a another full time artist there would be a mass making of them becuase that person would be so happy to make them, also it's about trust. I know I can trust sailor and I know she will respond if I ask her to change something. Same with all my artists.

One of the reasons I am thinking so hard about a new artist is that I don't have time to baby sit a new artist and double check their creations. With the artists I have I know that I can trust them.

True enough, I can understand the trust issue. I do like the guest artist/breeding artist idea though. And I'm sure if you asked a new artist to go easy on equid making, they'd understand.

What I don't exactly understand is the 'babysitting' of a new artist? A new artist would be chosen because they know the do's and don't's of equids and have already proven they can design them well, right? If I'm wrong, I think I'll go tattoo a big 'L' on my forehead, that's just how I thought artists were chosen XD

I think having a guest artist competition to see what people's designs look like, although more of a try-out sort of thing, and have the new artist be 'on trial' for a month or so. If the artist doesn't work out, just redo the process until you find an artist that you do like, would be a good idea ^^

As for the time issue, you could have the current artists check over the new artist's designs instead of yourself? They know how to design very well, and would be able to give the new artist critique and help them with the designs ^^

hehehe, I needed babysitting XD I went like, ballistic once I got first hired! XD it's like...a rainbow was eating my brain and I spewed it on making the quip XDDD ahhh *wipes tiny tear* good memories... XD

Well, I like how diverse everyone does their quip. Maz has that special zig zag (Dunno how else to describe it ) Amigo has opacity and size variation, Sailor has smooth straight (almost) quip, and Horsy has pen pressure and originality. ^^ It's really cool to see the diversity! and if Horsy, you do choose an artist- I can't wait to see how they make their quip! hehe

I remember at the time I only had a mouse, so mine looked all scribbly XP

Also guys, how will guest artists work? like as a guest artist do you only design every like 5 a month or during a special holiday?
*shrug* either way i'm tots excited to see who shall join Horsy, Maz, Amigo, and Sailor!!

Birch, I loved your ballistic phase XD And I must agree, I love the variation in quipping between artists as well. Fantasmic.

I like the idea of all the artists checking on a newbie since horsy doesn't have much time, that would solve that problem.

I was considering a new artist for breedings but after consulting with Maz finally she is quite happy to breedings. And I plan or having more involvement with creating equids and maybe doing breedings again.

I am hoping that will help.

I don't believe in guest artists. Not in a situation like this. They would be perminant staff.
