I just finished my form for Roe, now I'm going to go take on the painful task of re-vamping and editing Cycle's form.

Goennec Pen #: Five.
Name: Red.
How would you use him/her: Mostly just for stories and art. I might RP with him later on, but for now I don't really have the time because of school.
Define your Goennec:
As the sun crept through the thin pack of clouds, the young Goennec opened his eyes. The dull sunlight was just beginning to light the and, and from his small cave he watched the sky burn in crisp sunrise shades, amazement in his eyes. He hadn't seen much in his short life, but this was something entirely new. He couldn't be happier with the sight, and couldn't imagine anything better than this.

"Enjoying the view, little one?" the child's mother asked softly as she nuzzled him affectionately. She'd stayed quiet, so she could watch the wonder on his face, for some time. Unfortunately for him, sunrise was reaching a close, and that meant that it was time to get up.

She nudged him gently, telling him kindly that it was time to leave the warm comfort of their home. Slowly, he pulled himself to his feet and stretched, yawning all the while. His mother smiled at this, and got up herself. She wandered out of the little cave and into the harsh morning sunlight. It was already obvious; the day would be hot and long.

Behind her, her son slowly stumbled along. He was still getting used to walking, and having burning sand beneath his hooves and paws didn't exactly make it any easier to learn. When his mother looked back to make sure he was following, he grinned happily and sped up, stumbling over a pebble.

They made their way to a circle of rocks and climbed atop the warming stones. Slowly but surely, the rest of their herdmates spilled out of their caves and towards the rocks. When they were all present, the largest and most handsome of the group broke into the center of the circle. He spoke for a while, saying things the young boy didn't understand, so he snuggled up closer to his mother. The male continued to speak, and the reactions of the other adults varied greatly. Some seemed happy, but others seemed very angry. One of the angry ones leapt forward, and the younger Goennecs began to make frightened noises and hide behind their parents.

Before he could see anything, his mother grabbed him between her teeth and ran as quickly as she could back to their cave. They huddled together with her back towards the cave's opening, staying far from whatever madness was going on outside.

Hours later, when the noise finally died down, the small boy's mother pushed him to the very back of the cave and made her way outside. The handsome Goennec, his father, appeared soon after. "Come on outside, Red, its alright," he said gently. The boy pulled himself up and stumbled towards his smiling dad.

When they reached the circle of rocks, Red was stunned by the lack of creatures. "Where are they?" he asked innocently as he counted. Only one other family was still there, and no others were in sight.

"They left, hun," his mother replied as she walked over to him, "and they're not coming back."

The herd hadn't grown at all since he was a child, except for the birth of a single Goennec a few years prior, and it was beginning to dye out. Both of his parents, as well as the parents from the other family that had stayed, were long dead. Now, the only ones left were him and the two daughters from the other family, one about his age and the other much younger.

"Tachi, Miran," he addressed them one morning, "as you may have noticed, our herd is on its last leg. Unless we can find more herdmates, we will soon vanish into nothingness." He paused to breathe, allowing them to absorb it, "As much as I wish to keep my father's herd alive, I wish not to force you to stay if you don't want to. You're free to leave if you so desire, but I'd just like to know what we'd all want to do."

The two sat in silence for some time, both obviously thinking, before the eldest spoke. "We wondered when you'd ask about this, and have discussed it before. Miran, has your mind changed?" The young girl shook her head. "Then it is settled. We will stay here and help you make this herd great once again."

Red was so happy he could do nothing but beam.

It took them a few months, but once they'd finally prepared, their happiness greatly outweighed their nervousness and fear. They'd decided to make their way to the forest North of their precious desert, in an attempt to find more herdmates. Leaving the desert killed him, but Red knew it was better to be unhappy with his location than alone. Besides, it was for the good of the herd, and he'd always been taught that the herd always comes before oneself. They had yet to decide where in the forest they'd stay exactly, but their herd had always migrated with a "we'll know when we get there" attitude, and they didn't plan to change that now.

Long before the sun rose, they began their journey. Moonlight lit their path as they followed the pale scent of far-off Goennecs, each heart racing faster than the next. Nothing could dampen their spirits, or darken their path, not even the clouds that silently began to gather above their heads. The three were oblivious to bad things, as well as the mere thought of bad things. They were wrapped up in their perfect fantasy, their dream of a re-glorified herd.

They continued on their journey until just about midday, when the sun was at its hottest. They found a small cave near a small pool of water, facing away from the sun, and climbed inside to get some rest. They slept for an hour or so, just enough to wake up fresh. After each took a long drink from the puddle they began on their way again.

Although they smelled foreign herds every now and then, they didn't see a single creature until the fall of that evening. As the sun set, they spotted a young Goennec lying alone in the sand. At first they feared the worst, but upon inspection realized that the lifeless body was indeed full of life. It seemed a bit different from your normal Goennec, but not in any sort of bad way. It was just a bit. . .odd.

As they got closer, the child stirred and opened his eyes slowly. The confusion in his eyes was obvious, but he didn't speak. "Its okay, we won't hurt you. There's no reason to fear. Are you alright?" Red spoke with a gentle voice, hoping he didn't frighten the boy.

He looked up at Red, eyes wide, and slowly stood on unsteady limbs. He darted over to Tachi and hid behind her hind legs. Curious, Miran began to walk forwards. Taking the hint, Tachi followed, and so did the boy. A look of confusion spread over Red's face for a few moments before it morphed to more of a silent laugh. After another handful of moments, he snapped back to reality and quickly took his place as leader once more.

When they finally reached the forest a handful of weeks later, the quiest little boy was still clinging to Tachi. Red and Miran had yet to hear him speak, and if Tachi had she wasn't sharing. The only exciting thing that had happened in weeks was a fierce rainstorm. It didn't do much damage, however, and all four were able to find shelter and keep relatively dry.

Since taking in the young boy, they hadn't seen any other Goennecs. Although discouraged, they didn't give up hope. Many herds had left the area or had simply died out, leaving remaining small herds to the same fate. They knew increasing their numbers would be a challenge from the very beginning, but that didn't stop them from trying. More important than their numbers, however, was the sheer fact that they were surviving just fine. They'd always been able ti find enough food and water to get by, and almost always had some sort of shelter when they'd needed it. All they longed for now was herdmates, who would come in time.

The day before, when they'd first arrived, they began to search for a new territory to call their own. The task took some time, as all of the places they'd first investigated were either too small for a growing herd or belonged to other creatures. After hours of searching, however, they stumbled upon a beautiful and perfect place. The ground was covered with lush green grass, and ten trees surrounded the small clearing. A larger, older tree sat in the very middle of said clearing and a thick stream ran past the left of a territory - which bothered Red deeply, although he sucked it up as he knew it would be very useful - which happened to be filled with small fish. The tree in the middle of the territory was hollowed out at the bottom and had one entrance to the North, like a cave. The other trees and nearby plants had grown together in such a way to create cave-esque structures between them.

Everything about the place was perfect, and Red couldn't be happier. He knew that Goennecs would be drawn to the tranquil paradise, just as they had. He could only hope that some of those Goennecs would end up joining their join herd, so that he could make them great once again.

I think all the big posters have forms (except Vita. I think she pulled out) plus there are quite a few new adopters that have long forms XD I'm gonna be busy. I'm so happy I started the new ones already
