Three rants in one thread:
1. Chat Speak - Why does it seem like everyone uses chat-speak nowdays? I'm not talking about the 'brb, lol, cya' type, rather I'm refering to the utterly incomprehensible form where you don't even have a clue what the other person is saying without a translator. Most people around my age (about 14) use this all the time on MSN, text, form posts and even in English class, and it drives me insane. Maybe it is just the people I know who do this, but I really cannot understand how anyone could be so illterate as to speak this way.
2. Trends - Especially the emo fad that is going around. The amount of people who are walking around at school with the heavy black makeup, dyed black hair and 'emo' belts and bracelets are seriously starting to irritate me. Whatever happened to individuality and having your own thoughts and opinions?
And finally...
3. Rude children - It is just mean, or is it now acceptable to be rude to adults and elders? I've seen so many kids who are kitted out in latest fashion or designer clothes and treat their parents in such a disrespectful manner, almost looking upon them with distain. These kids don't say please or thank you, they aren't greatful for anything and wouldn't look twice at something that isn't the latest and have a one thousand dollar price tag on it. It digusts me the way they seem to take everything for granted.
