I usually let the gender of the cub (if sharing) be whatever the mother's owner wants it. XD I tend to make most of my characters male :3

One of the propblems might be that we have so many female CS users. But that was never an issue with the grown up smili. Of the adopted smili 14 out of 33 is female. That's pretty close to a 50/50 ratio, but slightly more males than females.

I think people like to associate small, cute things with females.

very true. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that they're cubs? I know that in the US, the vast majority of baby dolls are female which creates a baby = female kind of mentality

I actually find that strange, the 50/50 ratio. But I think that is the problem: so many users on CS are female and most females tend to make female characters (even though I'm female and I'm the opposite way : out of my 35 characters, 4 are female XD ).

Well, it's not really a problem for anyone. Unless the owners what to pair up their smili with someone once they are adults of course. There'll be a huge fight over Amaro.

I try to have a good mix. If a char looks male, I make it male, if it looks female, I make it female. I have a pretty close 50-50 mix
