~What is a Mountian Dragon Feline?~
MDF's are cat-like dragons(or dragon-like cats) who live in the mountians. They are Tiger-sized and can way up to 700 lbs when full grown. MDF's can live up to 60 years old. They are covered in thick fur and have long, furry manes to keep them warm durring winter. Their paws are big and wide so they can walk through snow easily. MDF's have long, sharp, retractable claws and big teeth for hunting and defending their territory. Their horns are used for atracting mates and they will somtimes scrape and hit them against rocks, wich imitates the sound of deer or rams fighting, which will draw in prey who think they are going to find others like them. MDF's are solitary but a mother and her cubs will stay together in a group called a "streek" for up to 5 years. MDF's are very territorial and mark their turf with sents and scratch marks. They can roar, growl, and "chuff" just like a tiger.
~The Breeds~
Classic -- Classics come in various colors from beige to black and their markings ar extreamly various.
Quad Horn -- QHs are classics(usually) but with a second set of horns. The second set are twisted like ram horns.
Snow -- Snow MDFs are mostly white and grey. They almost always have some kind of leopard spots.
Clouded -- Clouded MDFs have unusual patches that may remind you of the pelt of a Clouded Leopard or even a pinto horse. Markings such as stripes and spots are usually minimal.
~Information~
Lifestyle
MDFs are solitary animals, meaning they live alone instead of in a group, nor to they mate for life. They are territorial but not excessively. If they have found a good hunting spot or somwhere nice where the can relax, or they are feamales with cubs, they will be territorial but other than that, they really don't mind other MDFs. Somtimes MDFs will be spoted in small groups called "streaks." These streaks are usually made up of a mother and her cubs, since cubs will stay with their mother for up to 5 years of age, learning who to hunt and survive.
Hunting
As you may have gussed, MDFs are exeptional hunters. Fish, mountain goats, sheep, deer, Aliwalskiis(their main food sorce), and a few other prey species are all on the menue. How a MDF takes down an animal all depends on te animal it's hunting. Smaller prey and are ambushed and chased down. Fish are caught by the MFD striking with its paw, the goal being to flick the fish out of the water. Larger, more aggressive prey like darans or bigger Aliwaslkiis are taken down in a special way. Like a cougar or leopard, the MDF will hide in a high place like a ledge or boulder and wait for the creature to pass by, the the MDF will jump down onto its victim's back.

Breeding
Mating season occurs in fall, durring September and October. Males become extreemly territorial twards other males and will compete for females. Feamales will breed with one male and then head further down the mountain, so their cubs will be born in warmer weather. Males will breed with as many females as possible. MDFs attract mates using their horns and flashy markings and colors. Cubbing season(when the cubs are born) is in spring(March/April). Feamale MDFs can have up to 3 cubs in a litter. The cubs are official adults by age 5 and may stay with their moter up until 4 or 5 years of age.
Anatomy Purposes
The reason for the MDFs "scales" are unknown. they could be there to prothect the body. The "scales" are acctually just rough, callous patches of skin. Their long tails are for balence and the feathery fur on the end are to drag in the snow or dirt to cover their tracks. Their fur is, of course, to keep them warm and the horns are to attract mates and intimidate other createres.
~Not Real Dragons~
MDF are acctualy not dragons. Not the mythical kind, anyway. The are not related to and kind of reptile and they do not breath fire or anything like that. Their "scales" are not acctual scales but rough, callus patches of skin. They are called dragons because of their obvious unusualness, but they arn't real dragons.
~Questions you may or may not have~
- What do they hunt and eat?
Anything that dares roam the mountians! Rams/sheep, deer, fish, rodents, and several other species are all on the menue. Thier main food sorce are Aliwalskiis and if thay are brave and strong enough, the will hunt darans during the seasons that the cross through the mountians for mating and re-herding.
- What are those lumpy things on their body?
Those would be scales. They serve no purpose but to look awesome.
- Can They be rainbow colors?
Nope. Their markings, colors and patterns vary quite a bit but neon and unnatural colors would give them away to prey!
- Can I breed mine?
Not yet.
- Can mine have a mate?
MDFs do not mate for life. They court the oposite gender, breed, then go their seperate ways.*insert joke about the real world here*
