Name: Liliana (Lily for short)
Gender: Female
Breed/Species: Mermaid
Personality:Cheery
Lilly is very cheerful, she's always smiling and making other people happy. There isn't one moment in the day when Lilly isn't happy, it's very rare to even see her frown, much less cry or whine. Lilly loves making other people feel good, or even just making them smile! So not only is Lilly cheerful, but her happiness is infectious!
Self-centered
Lilly is very sweet, but she can sometimes be a little self-centered. She isn't really this way on purpose, she just really believes in being physically attractive and trying to look your best. She sometimes thinks of herself before others, but that's only because she's not really used to having a bunch of friends, she never did when she lived in the ocean, except for fish.
Caring
Lilly cares for her friends and family very much; now that she has us. My characters and I have been like a ray of sunshine in her darkest hour, giving her light and hope of a bright future. We care for her also, we know she had been alone for along time, and she needs us now to reassure her that she will never have to suffer through that isolation ever again.
Naive
Lilly isn't very bright or logical; I guess you could consider her a blonde. She doesn't really think things through, Lilly just kind of goes with the flow, like the waves of the ocean. She's pretty young also, so maybe she will mature with age, she could, but I doubt it. I love her to death, she's so silly sometimes, being naive makes her seem very sweet and innocent, which she is, and I love that about her.
Use:If I were to win this character, she would go on my
character website and in my signature.

Likes:Collecting seashells and Jewels
Lily loves collecting, she loves how different seashells can be, and how jewels sparkle like stars in the night sky. She keeps them in a small bag she got as a gift for her birthday, she deeply treasures her bag and what it contains. I am planning on making her a necklace, it will be a clamshell with a purple jewel in it, but I will have to find a purple jewel first, it's her favorite color; obviously.
Combing her Hair
Tangled hair is one of Lily's pet-peeves; she just hates it. She's always combing her hair, and will never let me go out until she fixes mine. I actually like it, having someone to fix my hair every day, and she enjoys doing so. I think she will be a hairdresser, because it doesn't need a lot of walking, and she loves it and feels normal when she is fixing hair.
Hanging with Friends
Lily loves hanging out with friends, it helps her forget about the rough times she's had when she didn't live with my characters and I. We love her too, she's so social. She can talk for hours without stopping with us never saying a work, but we don't mind, we love to just listen, it's how she vents and it makes everyone feel better. I know when she's just talking with her friends she feels normal, but I don't know why she wants to feel that way, she's perfect just the way she is.
Making Jokes
Lily almost never passes up the opportunity for a good joke, she's very witty and sarcastic. She's also very creative, so she can come up with some pretty good jokes. She really isn't much of a joke person though, she enjoys more just to catch people in there conversations at the wrong time, making a funny comment that leaves the whole group cracking up. Lily loves watching people laugh, it always makes her laugh. She loves laughing, it helps her get rid of pain and problems in her life.
Dislikes:Being Dry
Lily is okay with her waist and above being dry, but she hates when her tail dries out, her scales rub together and fall off. She actually really likes being dry, she just likes to be sitting in water so that she may keep only her tail wet. This is how she is most of the time, she sits in a small pool of water, and chats, hangs out, watches TV, etc.
Working
Not only does Lily dislike working, but it's also hard for Lily to find work that she can actually do. Being a mermaid, it's pretty hard to do any physical work, she often crafts and sells the cute trinkets she makes like jewelry. She doesn't realize it, but crafting really is her work, it helps her earn money for our family. It's really fun for her, it is something normal that she can do that people appreciate, it makes her feel normal and likes she means something to the world.
When her Hair gets Knotted
One of Lily's pet pieces is tangled hair, it makes her cringe; even if it isn't her hair. At least I know my hair will always look nice, Lily never let's me go anywhere until I let her fix my hair. I actually enjoy it, having someone to do my hair for me, and I love to let her because I know it makes her feel appreciated, even though I would still appreciate her if she didn't fix my hair, she is a great contribution to our family.
Being Cold
Lily would rather be burning up than a little chilly, because when she's wet and gets cold, it's like ice soaking in between his scales. I make sure to keep her warm, I know she likes it a lot better. I do my best to keep her out of the cold in the winter months, but when I can't afford to heat the house, I give her a sleeve to put on her tail made up wetsuit material.
Story:I swam quickly, visions of my sisters taunting me flashing painfully though my eyes. Ruby telling me I was klutzy, and Emerald calling me stupid. It really hurt when they made fun of me, I just couldn't take it anymore. I told them I didn't care, even though I truly did. I pulled my mirror out of my shoulder bag and looked into it's depths, seeing the tears sparkling in my eyes. I blinked, shutting out the tears. I went to put my mirror back into my bag, and stopped. This was my favorite bag, Euby made it for me for my 10th birthday. I don't know why, but now she hates me, only 2 years later. I took my favorite jewel, a sapphire, out of my bag and chucked it into the depths. I watched it sink into the undersea mountains and continued swimming when it disappeared into darkness. I didn't know where I was going, but I knew I was never going back. I held my mirror and hem close and just kept swimming.
I had been swimming for two hours, and I was tired and hungry. I saw a small cave in the ground and swam towards it, eager for a safe place to rest. I saw a cluster of clams by the entrance and snacked on them as I drifted to sleep by the mouth of the cave. After I finished my meal, I got up from the ocean floor to swim deeper into the cave so to be unseen by outsiders, and hit my head on the ceiling. I grabbed the spot in pain, feeling a large knot already present. I swam towards the back of the cave and looked back, suddenly seeing huge rocks falling from the entrance of the cave. I quickly dove farther into the cave, knowing that the exit was no longer an option. I covered my head and shrunk back, trying not to get hit by rocks. When there were no longer any disturbances in the water, I picked up my head and wearily turned around to face the entrance to the cave. I dropped to the floor. Rocks had filled the entire exit, blocking out all light except for a small hole a the top. I was trapped with no escape.
I was curled into a ball on the sand, whimpering and slowly suffocating in hopelessness. I looked back at the small gap, and slowly began swimming towards it.
Maybe if I could get my arm through, I would be able to shift enough rocks to escape. I stuck my arm into the gap in the rocks and felt around for ones small enough to move. I worked for a while, slowly finding rocks and moving them out of the way, and finally found a space big enough to squeeze through. I happily swam through the hole in freedom, only to find my hips stuck on the rocks. I tried to wiggle out, but it was too tight. I gave up and tried to go backwards, but I couldn't and was now stuck from going either way. I slumped down and relaxed my body, hoping a sudden jolt would free my lower body. I pushed hard with extreme force and speed, but to no avail; I was still stuck. I looked down for any rocks I could move, but there were none that I could reach. I felt a sudden disturbance in the water and my head quickly shot up. About three feet in front of me was a human scuba diver staring right at me.
I wiggled desperately, slicing long gashes on my hips with the sharp edges of the rocks. I screamed in pain and fear and kept trying to wiggle free. The person suddenly moved back and began waving her hands, motioning for me to stop. I stopped wiggling and looked at them curiously. They began to pull of the body suit from their head, revealing long, golden, curly hair. I then knew it was a girl, because of the hair and body shape. She seemed less threatening now that she wasn't wearing her head cover. She slowly swam over to me, holding up her hands. Blood from the gashes on my hips floated up around me in the water, blurring my vision. She came down to the rocks below me and began slowly lifting them away. I suddenly realized how much blood was in the water, and that it wasn't the reason my vision was getting blurry. My eyes began to slide shut, I was loosing consciousness. The girl began digging faster, seeing how urgently I needed help. Just as she was removing the last rock to set me free, I blacked out.
I suddenly awoke, not sure where I was. I looked around, and saw very unfamiliar objects; human objects. I was inside the cabin of a boat, I could sense the water below me. I was sitting in a small pool made of plastic and air, filled halfway with water. I had some type of soft white stuff on my waist, with spots of red showing through. I sat up, and fell back down, groaning in pain. I heard footsteps and a human walked in. She had the same hair as the diver, and looked to be about fourteen. I shrunk back and squeezed my eyes shut, not knowing what she going to do. She slowly walked up and touched her head with the back of her hand. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up. The girl had kind eyes, they changed from blue to green like the ocean. She removed her hand and stepped back. "How are you feeling?" The girl asked nervously. Amazingly, I understood her. "I feel fine." I paused. "Thank you for helping me." I looked down and blushed. She walked up and handed me a plate of fish. " You're very welcome, I didn't want to watch you suffer." Lily looked up and suddenly felt brave. "Could I... Stay with you?" She looked at the girl, her face changing emotions. "Of course, you can stay with us as long as you want."
