Smili colouration is really complex, so for simplicity I just make it up as I go along. Pleek's colouration is fully normal.
So... Let's just say I'm that in charge of smili genetics, it won't strictly follow any natural processes. I just added it to make breedings more interesting, not to actually keep it life-like.
With the unusual colouration one, it actually works with how the cubs turned out if the allele doesn't exist on the same gene as the 'normal' allele - both cubs have the 'unusual' allele, but in Lantana it was expressed more strongly producing the pink colour from the single unusual red allele partially showing through white markings. In Amaro, the 'unusual' allele is still present but isn't as highly expressed, and so his markings appear fully white with a trace of bright orange where the unusual red interacts with the orangey coat. ^^ Probably it's easiest with these guys to assume that every trait is on a different gene, so you don't have to worry about the interactions of dominant vs. recessive and such and can just play with the individual traits to make whatever you want from them. :3
The new cub is adorable - I love its marking colours and big blue eyes. ^^

So, more of an incomplete or codominant type of trait than a simple on. That makes since. Thank you Spotty, Atwood, and Meadow for the clear up.
The new cub is adorable. I squeed.

Thanks to fifdom for my Troo fanart.

Okay, I lied. I am going to try out for a Smili next round. The last one got me. . .

I think music is about our internal life.
It's part of the way people touch each other.
That's very precious to me. And astronomy is,
in a sense, the very opposite thing. Instead of
looking inwards, you are looking out, to things
beyond our grasp.

Nuuu decisions. D8
I'm trying to decide whether to try for the poisonous smili, whom I have an entire history for, basically - or the smili underneath the smili with the funny tail, whom I have some ideas for, but have really just fallen in love with the design. xD
^^; So, on the subject of the smili underneath the smili with the funny tail, would they pass as a Tundra smili? Or a German smili? And if so, which one would they be more suited to? I was thinking Tundra smili because of the white, but I'm not sure.

The round just ended today - there'll still be a couple of days until the next one starts up, so you've got a little more time to work on it. :3
