@Lost Soul: it is very very hard to get a job in the art field. ((Please don't take this as me shooting down your dreams! Never lose sight of your dreams!)) I am moving out to California for some animation story boarding //hopefully// for Disney. My aunt is still trying to pull some strings for me. XD

trust me, I know, but down here in florida, art is unlimited with surf board designs, clothes designs, shirt designs, movie script enhancers( ones who go over a script and make it more vibrant and plan out the scenes and apparel)

Question off topic...if you draw something over and over....could it have emotional, mental, or physical meaning or something to your subconscious? just another theory of why I draw the cute little guy.

Disney fired all of their Animation Department down here and moved everything out to Anaheim. :3 I do commissions every now and again. I draw out people's tattoo designs, family portraits, T-shirt logos and designs as well as comic book character sheets. XDDD

And to answer your off topic question, I honestly pull most of my ideas from dreams I have. XDDD
I just had this dream, for two nights in a row. It is based off of Chris Nolan's Batman Begins series. The Scarecrow is in it, but it has nothing to do with that series other than the characters and Batman telling me that he was Bruce Wayne before he passed away. I was like his 'Robin'. Idk, it makes no sense, but I am going to make a mini comic out of it. It is very dark and bloody which is not quite my style, but it seems like a great challenge.

anyways on the topic at hand, i reckon keep practising on any style you want but its generally important that you find your own. people recognise artists by their styles. Realisitic however is relly good to learn so you understand the basics.(im studying graphic design and everyone has a different style and some of the stuff is just amazing)

for a job maybe try temping at different places you get experience and maybe you might get lucky and they might hire you

I'm trying to do intermediate...but I am such a mix...I'm a mutt of a drawer, drawing both cartoon and realistic mixes...my brain can't choose and I'm trying to force my mind to accept the fact realistic will be better....but I have brain problems....

anyways...the contest....it's so good....I might die if I get that cat....that prize pet( trying to connect it to comp....if I ramble, correct me....I'm a type rambler).

Also, I saw some pretty beast entries..like that one blue wolf thing, that was awesome.
