Dexter flushed red and backed up a few steps.
"Oh god, No, you know i didn't mean it that way."

Dexter didn't know what to say.
"Please, i.. I just..Well"
Those big brown eyes called to him, they look so disapointed.

"I'm so sorry, i just assumed..I.."
He felt so smug, automatically thinking this girl liked him.
What a selfrighteous person he was.

He decided to take the wimp's way out.
"I..I think i should go before I make things worse."
He said. looking away.
"I promise this won't be the last you'll see of me,"
He said, sheepishly smiling at the mare.

"lets try this again tommorow."
He laughed a bit,
"A bit more fresh too."

He began to walk away, but looked back with a smile.
"See ya back home, girl."
He gave her a friendly wink before walking off.

Kyla felt a secure when he pulled her closer,
It seemed that she was always looking for that feeling.

His soft words calmed her,
she pulled back and looked at him with a smile.
"Of course i forgive you,"
She said with a smile.
" but there is nothing for you to be sorry about."

"I am the one that got all ghetto on you."
She laughed a bit
"just for talking to my sister."

She noticed that the sun was begining to set.
"Hey, you wanna go to the pond and sit a bit? "
She shot a flirty look his way
"Ravenna's on watch."

Thayer-
He looked peacefully out across the steadily quietting bayou. Then back to Kyla, the setting sun was blazing off her pelt and setting her eyes on fire. He smiled coyly at her suggestion to head to the pond, "Well darling of course I'd love to go with you. Nothing would please me more." He gave her a warm nuzzle on her shoulder and took a step off towards the pond flicking her playfully with his tail.

{ Mirela }

Mirela waited patiently for him to respond, though his knee-jerk reaction to her comment about being lucky made her smile and dip her head. "Why thank-you, if I wasn't tough I doubt I'd get very far. Still, I suppose it was more the fact that he was something of an idiot. Otherwise I don't doubt he could have done far worse to me." She shuddered at the thought but shook her head, "But that's all in the past and doesn't concern me anymore." She was saying that as much for herself as it was for him, Mirela didn't wish to dwell on all the past pains and mistakes she had gone through, those were all in the past now. And would remain there.

The sad smile he directed towards her made her feel a deep sympathy for him, here was a kindred spirit who could understand the pain and hurt she had been through. It was a glorious feeling to realize you are not alone in this world. The gift of his name that he bestowed upon her was wonderful as well, and foal-like as it was she felt her eyes light up with happiness. "Well then, its an honor to meet you Aroken." She said dipping her head, and thinking on his previous sentence she slowly inclined her head, "And you're right, perhaps 'lucky' is not the right term, but still, it is easier to be a male and travel alone." She shot him a rueful glance, "Somehow I doubt that you are plagued by brutish mares who wish to force you into their herd." She sighed again and closed her eyes briefly as the wind whispered softly through the trees. It felt good somehow, standing her and speaking with a kindred soul like this...or at least, she felt as though he was a kindred soul, almost like she had known him all her life. But no, Mirela shook the odd thought away, it was hardly appropriate after only just meeting him.

When Aroken next spoke though his words completely shocked Mirela, what on earth was he talking about? Why would he think-? But at that moment he turned and trotted away. Disbelief and anger shot through Mirela, how dare he! That was no way to end a conversation, and whatever his problem was he should be facing it rather than running away! Flicking her tail almost furiously she managed to shout one last thing at him, "You just wait Aroken, you'll be seeing more of me I promise. No one gets to run off on me before I'm finished talking to them." A little harsh maybe, but he had no call to go gallivanting off like that, or at least, not without her!

Aro stumbled when Mirela told him that she wouldn't see the last of him. It unnerved him how much his heart leapt at the idea. Its only that i've been alone so long, nothing more he tried to convince himself. He slowed to a walk when he was out of her sight. Well, which way to go. He didn't know, did he care? Any direction would lead somewhere he shouldn't be. It seemed there was no longer a place anywhere in the world his should be. He walked to the edge of a pool and looked down at the small fish darting in the shallows, little more than shadows in the murky water. Like the fish, his own thoughts darted around, bouncing off and whirling around each other until he was left with the tangled mess that was this dilemma. Would his life never be simple?

Aro sighed and picked a direction at random. The whole place smelled of other kelpies, they had been here recently; scents didn't last long in a swamp. He just hoped he was heading in the opposite direction from any other kelpies. It wouldn't do to have another Mirela situation. And just like that he was thinking about her again, her intricate brindling, those eternal blue eyes, but above all that fiery personality. Stop it, he told himself. It will only lead to trouble, besides she probably doesn't like you anyway. And who can trust a strange mare in herd territory? She could be a spy... she seemed to be the honest type though. These thoughts whirred through his head as he walked aimlessly through the swamp

Shallo was grazing in a little field, near by a large swamp. He could hear rustling in the near by bushes but was so into his food that he ignored it. Shrugging of his nagging suspicions, he continued to eat. His soft fail flickering, and swatting at the swamp flies. He shoke is head, making his mane flow in the wind. When suddenly, a large Kelpie trampled over him. "What the hell!?" Shallo pushed the Kelpie off of himself, and nickered very loudly. "Who are you?" He snorted, pawing his hoof at the ground. Kicking up the soft swamp dirt.

Inside, he was frozen. Damn, that was nice, he was discovered. Yet outside he let out a calm laugh, standing still. "My bad, friend. Just got distracted." Said Apollo, already circumventing the the light-coated Kelpie in front of him. "My name is Apollo, by he way. See you around!" He was relieved that the horse didn't actually notice he wasn't part of the herd. However, his relief quickly fled away as he turned his back on the wavy-maned horse, and heard him calling him back there. Apollo was unsure if he should turn around and face the other Kelpie as a normal herd member, or run away like some sort of coward thief. No, Apollo may have eaten five fruits or more, but he was no coward at all. So he ran away, heading off to nowhere - yet, with diginity! He needed to exercise anyway, so that'd be some good practice.

[Lavapony]

Vanity sighed. So embarrassed. She watched him leave then slowly trailed behind him.
Vanity, you have made a fool of yourself once again you stupid mare. she scolded herself. She sighed remembering that Dexter was going to meet that other mare by the pond. She knew he liked her so I might have to move on.

She looked up when she was walking, Wondering where she would go to next. She stepped onto softer land, her front leg felt a sharp pain then it followed through the rest of her body. A big sploosh echoed through the swamp. She slowly got out of the thick mud and thorns, her pretty pelt slathered in mud and a bit of blood. She had fallen on a thorn bush and was not a bit hurt.

[Chasing Dreams]

"Where do you think you're going kid!" Shallo nickered and raced on after him. His heart was pounding, and all ready he could smell that Apollo was not from this herd. "Get your little ass out of here!" Shallo snorted as he attempted to nip at Apollo's neck. But Apollo was to fast, he was a young horse, and could probably out run Shallo. But Shallo wouldn't give up so easily, he knew this land better than that other stallion did. Their hooves thundered on the ground. And Shallo chased Apollo into a deep swamp. "You sure can run fast, but can you swim good?" Shallo was a very experienced swimmer. He never walked around the swamps, but right through them, in a few seconds flat. There was so way Apollo could beat him now, at least that is what Shallo thought.

Damn it, man! Why did he choose running away? Faking an ordinary herd member would be so much easier, and safer. Well whatever, it was done now, the advantage Apollo could take was that he had very fast hooves. Shaking his mane as the gravity crossed the weak wind blew, he thought about stopping, maybe have a nice talk with that big bay Kelpie. No, what the hell was he thinking?! That when he stopped he's invite him to a tea party? Wake up, man! Apollo felt like a fugitive now - well, indeed he was, he was running away after all.
He finally put a final point to his thoughts when he realized he was heading off to a lake. Oh great, the luck was mercilessly against him, he hadn't swam many times before but with the little knowledge he had he'd maybe make it through. Without even looking behind, Apollo dived into that greenish deep lake, surrounded by moss and old trees. "Oh, great. I'm doomed." He told himself, what kind of water was that?! It was somehow sticky and heavy, it felt like it was trying to sink the young Kelpie. Feeling the big stallion coming after him, he tried the hardest he could to cross that stinky lake. And how it was stinky, holy moly!

{ Mirela }

Mirela watched the place where Aroken had disappeared into for a while, but eventually it became obvious that he wasn't coming back. Disappointment and something like hurt welled up in her, it seemed that she was doomed to be shunned by even other travelers like herself. Feeling utterly defeated Mirela decided that now was as good a time as any to head to the pond. Perhaps a meeting with the courteous Dexter would put her in better spirits, though at this point Mirela sort of doubted it. Her thoughts were consumed with Aroken, a stallion who seemed to be a kindred spirit. Guess I'm just naive and stupid. She thought to herself mournfully, whatever strange connection she had thought was between them had clearly been imagined on her part.

Shaking her head sorrowfully the brindle mare lowered her head for a moment before heaving a sigh. No point dwelling on it, and this just reinstated in her mind that she wasn't destined to settle down anywhere. Turning she began to head towards where Mirela figured the pond would be. At this point in time it didn't seem like things could get any worse, so what did she have to lose?

Shallo gained on Apollo. He swung his head up and down, attempting to strike a blow at Apollo, with his very large horns. "Running away isn't going to help you right now!" Shallo snorted, he was a fast swimmer and soon was right beside Apollo. Shallo pushed Apollo to the side. Whining as he did so. "Get out and stay out! You don't belong here, loner!" Shallo brayed. His hooves hit the sand at the other side of the swamp. Long before Apollo got there. Shallo waited for Apollo to try and escape him. His plan was working so far. Apollo would have to try and get out, and by then Shallo would have reinforcement to help take care of this young stallion.
