Thorn sniffed grudgely.

Cinder tasted the air again, then gently, making sure Vern came, headed through the reeds to the east.

Vern kept up, watching around.

Claw sniffed the air. 'That way.' He snapped.

[Xelinator]

Cinder found a old tree with roots open underneath. It was small and would be very packed, but it looked okay for the on-coming nighttime. He looked at Vern. "You may go in first." he whispered as the dusk lights glinted brightly. He stalked off and returned a minute later with two mice and a squirrel. "Tiny, but food's food." he said.

Vern went in. She smiled at Cinder. 'Yeah.' She said and layed her head-on her paws.

[Xelinator]

He crawled in. It was even more cramepd than he imagined, but shuffled to the right side to give Vern more room to curl up. He passed her the two mice and layed his head on his paws, eating the tiny squirrel morsel. He pulled branches and leaves over the entrance for warmth and darkness, then finished his tiny meal and lay his head down again, head facing to the side so he wasn't too squashed.

Vern smiled and ate the two mice, finshing them. She curled her warm tail around Cinder and smiled. She cloesed her eyes.

Cinder smiled and licked her cheek gently. "Goodnight, Vern." he whispered, and wrapped his tail around her like she had done to him to keep eachother warm.

'G'night.' Vern smiled and feel asleep.

Cinder crawled out, not waking Vern, and headed off to hunt. A while later he returned with a deer and layed it by the mouth of the den, nosing Vern awake. "Wake up, sleeping angel." he joked, nosing her again until she was awake. "I have breakfast."

Blitz sat up when all his recruits returned. "Any sight of them?" he asked.

Scarz nodded. "I saw them making a den by the east forest." he said proudly.

Blitz snorted. "Not good enough! What time, what tree, where have they been? I expect more of you!" he growled. "You are no use to us, Scarz. You are no lonegr worthy of your name. You are Jax once more. Claw, Scratch, Kern, Torn, Razor - take him out." he ordered.

Scratch started to circle Jax, claws extended and teeth bared.

Torn stared for a moment. "But... that's completely unfair on him. He's outnumbered and of course will die..." he whispered, too scared to say it out loud, as he stared at his sister. Him, Scratch and Kern were related to Jax, who was once named Scarz, and he felt like he couldn't kill him. He stood back. "I wish to go and spy." he said.

Blitz looked pu. "Scared little wuss deservees to die too, but I can't risk looking another follower. Go hunt. And take Fang." he sighed angrily.

Kern showed his teeth and flicked his tail as a signal, and dived in on Jax, claws extended, teeth bared.

Scratch jumped too, teeth sinking into flesh. He bit down and scraped to the bone, before going for the neck. He bit down hard and scratched the stomach.

Kern copied, biting on his brother's throat and digging in hard.

Jax wailed in pain, before gasping for breath and swatting with paws.

Jae licked the top of Tessa's head affectionately. "Go and see if anyone needs help."
Tessa wagged her tail joyfully. "Okay!" she scurried off.
