If I'm understanding you right, then yes, there are phases in the adoptables. There's the Baby, Puppy, and Adult stages or phases.

The two parts are 1)to choose one of the supplied customs from thee list on the first page and do whichever custom you select to the best of your abilities. 2) to do a wolf design of all three stages in any design you want, just show us your best and try to wow the judges

And official date hasn't been chosen yet, but it will probably end sometime in early/mid September, But this depends.
