"To the one who waits comes the tailwind at last." -Swedish Proverb
☁ I, Supernuk, wish to take home the wonderful boy in kennel 122. Why you may ask? I was a fan of My Little Pony when Hasbro first came out with the toys back in '97. I was born too late to watch the old movies but I was intrigued by the toys. I always watched the cassettes and ordered the exclusive, "not available in stores!" ponies that were only bought with special coupons that came with the store-bought ponies. I still have my collection in a Sterilite box somewhere. I remember once I ruined my TV by placing my ponies on top of it. Back then, they had little magnets on their hooves so my TV was busted for a while. As I grew older, I never had the heart to throw my collection out or donate them. A year ago, the Hub came out with the new pony show. I never got into the new "Generation 4" ponies. They were streamline and not as "chubby cute" as the originals. Even though I was never attracted to the new design, when I saw kennel 122, I knew I had to have him for myself. ☁

My Little Pony is a brand of toy ponies produced by the toy manufacturer Hasbro. Marketed primarily to girls, the ponies can be identified by their colorful bodies and manes and a unique symbol on one or both sides of their flanks. "My Little Pony" was created in 1982 by American illustrator and designer Bonnie Zacherle. Working with sculptor Charles Muenchinger and manger Steve D'Aguanno, Zacherle submitted a design patent in August 1981 for an ornamental design for a toy animal. The patent was granted in August 1983, when she began working for Hasbro.
☁ If I win this boy, I would love to name him Zephyr. Why Zephyr? For some odd reason, he reminded me of ancient Greek culture. In light of this observation, I tried to pick a name suiting for him. After looking and searching for names, I finally worked my way down to two: Euclid or Zephyr. Even though Euclid is a very suiting name for what I thought was a Greek-inspired pony, it didn't seem to fit the character himself. He would be a tall, slender, fast, and loyal character who loved the sky and was almost part of it. In the end, Zephyr seemed to be a perfect fit. The definitions of Zephyr give an insight as to why I picked that name for this particular colt. ☁

Zephyr \z(e)-ph-yr\ as a boy's name (also used as girl's name Zephyr), is of Greek origin, and the meaning of Zephyr is "west wind". Mythology name used in variants like Cefirino and the female form, Zephirine. Literary: Zéphir was the name of a mischievous monkey in Laurent de Brunhoff's "Babar" books.

In ancient Greek religion and myth, the Anemoi (in Greek, Ἄνεμοι — "winds") were Greek wind gods who were each ascribed a cardinal direction from which their respective winds came (see Classical compass winds), and were each associated with various seasons and weather conditions. Of the four chief Anemoi, Zephyrus was the west wind and bringer of light spring and early summer breezes.

Zephyr wrote:Hello there! I'm Zephyr but people usually call me Zeph. Only GranGran calls me Little Ray of Sunshine. I don't even know why but she does constantly. Anyways, I'm just a regular boy-pony that is three years old. I'm pretty tall for my age. That's right. I'm a whole 13.2 hands. I'm a little on the lean side too. I'm only 734 pounds but I don't get teased about that. The only thing is that I still don't have a cutie mark like everyone else my age. I get made fun of constantly. On the bright side, Del doesn't have one either so she doesn't make fun of me. Have you met Del? She's my ace friend. She's always been there for me. She's a little younger than me though but we still get along. I was born on March 23rd and she was born sometime in November. We have both lived in the town for all our lives. We have never been outside of the town, let alone the Clouds of Mount Olympus. Some say only flyers get down from the clouds. I can't imagine what it would feel like, soaring through the air. My dream is to be a flyer one day. I don't have wings but I know that me and Del will create wings sometime soon. Then we can both fly together and show all those snobs at the Academy that even ponies like us can reach the sky! But promise not to tell anyone else. I want this to come try more than anything.
☁ Zeph is a very outgoing and lovable pony that is always looking for something new to try. He is never tired and GranGran has a hard time putting him to bed at night. Even though he has lived in an orphanage his entire life and is forced to work instead of attending school, he is still a bright fellow. "Little Ray of Sunshine" is GranGran's nickname for him because after a hard day of working, he is always there to cheer her up. He is known for being curious and this has often led him into trouble. He usually ends up "smiling" his way out of things. Being quick on his feet comes in handy when running away from angry adults. Altogether, he's a sweetheart. His dream is to attend The Cloud Academy, a private boarding school. Sadly, GranGran cannot afford to send the all the orphans to school so they end up working to pay for their needs. Given sad circumstances, Zephyr has never learned to frown. ☁
Trying hard to reach out
But when I'd try to speak out
Felt like no one could hear me
Wanted to belong here
But something felt so wrong here
So I pray
I could breakaway
"GranGran, where's Papa? Is he ready?" Zephyr said, dancing around his room.
"He's still talking with the official. Just sit and I'm sure he'll be here," GranGran said as she folded the blankets on his bed. A strand of hair fell in between her eyes and she blew up at it, hoping it would go back into place.
"But," Zephyr said, "He promised." The smile on his face turned into a confused frown. GranGran turned to see him. She sighed.
"Zeph, you need to be patient."
"I am patient! Papa just doesn't like me anymore." He sat on the bed and folded his arms. "He doesn't want to take me to see them." GranGran felt his frustration and sat on the edge of the bed. She smiled at him.
"Now, he wants to see those flyers as much as you but he can't right now. Please try to understand." She kissed his forehead and left the room.
" 'Please try to understand,' " Zephyr mocked. "Today was supposed to be the best day ever." He walked to the window. He looked up to Academy Hill. "Why couldn't I be there?" he said, lying his head down on his hooves. "GranGran and Papa don't understand." With that, he let his eyes close.
"Knock knock," Papa said, walking into his room. "You awake, Zeph?" Zephyr pulled himself up and looked at Papa, then out the window. He sighed.
"It's late now," Zephyr said sadly. He lied back down.
"Zeph, I'm sorry. I just-"
"Just what? You promised it was supposed to be the best day ever! I wanted to see them!"
"I know, I know. I had some business to do. I'll make it up to you."
"How about tomorrow?" Zephyr smiled. He bounced up and looked straight at Papa.
"I can't. I'm taking Delilah and Zack out tomorrow. We can do it, some other time," Papa said, turning to leave his room. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight Papa," Zephyr said. He watched him leave. The longing for his own dad tugged at him. 'Please try to understand' GranGran said but in reality, little Zephyr didn't understand. He didn't understand why everyone else had a father.
"Everyone has a dad but me," Zephyr thought as he tossed in bed, "Everyone." he pouted, "But Del-" he stopped. "Del," he said out loud. He scrambled off his bed in a hurry. His hair flipped in his face as he ran out the door. He pushed it back up and took in a quick breathe as he headed towards GranGran and Papa's room. He tip-toed passed the doorway and ran the second he passed it. He breathed out as he passed by his "siblings's" rooms. He reached the stairs that lay at the end of the corridor as a door opened behind him. His heart dropped as he turned to see the follower.
"Zephie," a small voice spoke, "Where are you going?" Zephyr turned to see Abigail, a tiny pony who was also orphaned at birth, just like Zephyr.
"Just for a walk," he said quickly. His eyes darted from the filly to the door of GranGran and Papa's room behind her.
"Can I come?" she asked, rubbing her eyes. She yawned.
"No, it's too cold. Go back to bed, Abby," Zephyr said, flashing a smile, "Goodnight."
"Goodnight Zephie," Abigail said as she went back into her room. Zephyr breathed out and began making his way down the stairs. He walked casually to the door. The floor boards creaked and cracked beneath him. He opened it and shut it quickly and began making his way out into the town.
"Del, Del!" he whispered as he went through the alley. It was a cold night and the darkness seemed to follow Zephyr as he walked. A shadow came from behind a large can. He jumped back as a pony emerged.
"Hey, Golden Boy," Del said, "Why you here?"
"Looking for you, Del," Zephyr said, smiling at his best friend. She spat at the ground and walked towards him.
"Sure you were," she said laughing, "Tell me what you want." Zephyr laughed and sat down.
"Will you go with me to see the flyers? Papa won't take me," he said.
"You've come to the right place, Golden Boy," Del smiled, "Why won't he take you?"
"He said he's busy and he has to take everyone else out. He said he would 'make it up to me'," Zeph said, frowning.
"Dude, so not ace."
"I know! But I really don't need to go with him. It's not like he's my dad or anything." Zephyr stood up and walked passed Del. She rolled her eyes.
"Drama bum, dude," she said. She turned around to look at him. He was obviously not joking. Her face turned red. Quickly, she thought of something nice to say. "Maybe we can find you a dad at the Academy!" He laughed.
"I wish, Del. Like any flyer would want me." He turned away from her. She didn't know what to say.
"We're still up for tomorrow, right?" she asked, starting to smile. He turned back at her and smiled.
"Is it ok if I stay here for tonight?" he asked, "I don't feel like sneaking back in."
"Sure thing," Del said, lying down next to him. He lied down next to her. He heard her snore. She was his only friend. He felt safe with her. He lied his head down and soon, he was also fast asleep.
"Hey Del," Zephyr said, kicking against Del's hoof, "Wake up sleepy head!" Del rolled over on her side and yawned.
"It's too early..." her voice died off as she fell back asleep. Zephyr decided to kick her again.
"Come on. You promised me," he whined. Del sighed and rolled herself up on her feet. She rubbed her eyes and yawned once more. She looked up at Zephyr and couldn't help but smile when he jumped up and down in front of her.
"Let's go, Goldie," she laughed as she led him out of the alley. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful new day.
"You sure I can?"
"'Course you can. Why? You scared?" Del nudged his side as he slid through the opening under the gate. She followed him into the large yard. Zephyr stood back and took in the beauty.
"We ain't gonna see those flyers if you don't get that look off your face," she said as she ran passed him in the direction of the stadium. He shook his head and ran after her. They were stopped right outside the stadium by the crowd trying to get through the archway.
"There's no room," Zephyr said sadly. Del looked at him as he dropped his head.
"There has to be another way in," she thought to herself. She ran around the line of people and peeked into the stadium. Thousands were seated, patiently waiting for the Academy's best. She ran back to Zephyr. "Come on," she said grabbing his hoof, "I got an idea!"
"Follow my lead," Del whispered over her shoulder to Zephyr, "Watch this." She cleared her throat and puffed out her chest. "Back up! Back up! Don't you know who this is? This is a very important pony right here! Yeah that's right, a VIP. Clear the way!" Zephyr held his head high and waved the people aside. The crowd parted as Zephyr and Del made their way into the stadium. When they were seated, Zephyr and Del laughed.
"I didn't think that would actually work!"
"Well, when Del wants something done, it gets done."
"Well I owe you one Del. That was totally-" A horn cut off his sentence.
"Welcome to Cloud Stadium," a voice rang out through the stadium,
"It is our pleasure to present the Academy Aviators!" The crowd cheered. Zephyr and Del were on the edge of their seats. From doors on opposite sides, the Academy students took flight. Some held banners and flags while others sprinkled glitter and flowers over the amazed crowd. Del caught a flower on her nose and shook it off. Zephyr laughed and they both watched the flyers turn and spin in mid air. Zephyr couldn't think of a better place to be. He closed his eyes and dreamed that he was a flyer, turning and spinning without a care. He smiled and let his dream spin itself in his mind.
His beautiful dream was interrupted when a large hoof was placed on his shoulder. He was pulled back and dragged. The other hoof of this pony was on Del's shoulder. He looked up to see the sheriff drag him and Del up the stairs. He had a furry mustache and walked heavily. "You kids," he grumbled, "Those nice people payed for those." At the same time, a couple took their seats where Del and Zephyr had sat. Zephyr looked up again to see his badge glisten like the painted hooves of the flyers as they danced in the sunlight.
"What's the big idea?" Del screamed he pulled them out of the stadium.
"You two are in big trouble," the police pony said as he let go, "You sneaked into an Academy event so you will deal with the Academy headmaster." Zephyr and Del looked at each other, fear in their eyes, as he escorted them to the campus. "Wait and see what the headmaster has in store for you two," he laughed as he walked with them up the Academy stairs.
"Well," Del said to Zephyr with a small grin, "At least you get to see it before you're punished for life."
"Come in Sheriff," the headmaster said. The two were led into the office by the sheriff who had dragged them out of the stadium. They sat down on the chairs in front of the headmaster while GranGran and Papa sat next to his desk.
"Zeph, why?" Papa said as they met glances. Zephyr tried to explain but the headmaster beat his ruler down on his desk.
"Do tell why you two sneaked into my stadium and tried to sneak a peek at my finest students. You know, people pay good money to see that show and you two freely took advantage of them by stealing their seats," the headmaster turned to face the window, "Why would you do such a thing?" Zephyr was first to speak.
"I just wanted to see the flyers but I didn't mean to steal! Honest! Del, she, this isn't her fault! Please," Zephyr said, about to cry, "Please just, don't blame her." He looked over at Del who also wanted to cry.
"No, it's my fault," Del tried to explain, "I was the one that got us in." Zephyr swallowed and decided to confess everything so Del wouldn't get in trouble.
"No, it's truly my fault. I've always wanted to be a flyer. I wasn't born that way so I can't be but I always believed I could be. That's why I wanted to see the flyers so badly. They remind me that even though I'm not a flyer I can be one one day. Just like with having a real dad. I wasn't born with a dad but it doesn't mean I can't have one. It's the same with wings." Zephyr breathed out and hoped that the headmaster wouldn't punish them too harshly. The headmaster turned around and looked from Zephyr to GranGran.
"So this boy here doesn't have a father?" he asked flatly.
"Yes sir," GranGran answered, "He is an orphan."
"And the girl?"
"She's," GranGran began.
"Homeless," Del finished.
"Well," the headmaster said, looking at his desk, "I suppose that this behavior will only be subsided by having a good example in both of their lives."
"What do you mean, Headmaster?" Papa asked.
"I mean," he paused, "I want these two adopted as soon as possible." GranGran and Papa looked gravely at each other.
"But," Papa started, "We can't find anyone who wants to adopt. We have been searching for years. Since, since Zeph was given to us as a newborn." The headmaster blinked then looked up at Zephyr who had his head down.
"I suppose," he said, "I could adopt them." Zephyr and Del looked up at him, then at each other.
"What?" Del yelled in excitement.
"I, sir!" the sheriff said, "You adopting children?" The sheriff stood back in amazement at the mid-aged stallion.
"Yes," the headmaster nodded, "And why not?" The headmaster drew his head back and chuckled.
"Sir, you're ol-"
"Not old enough for children of my own, if I do say so myself." The headmaster stepped away from his desk and approached GranGran and Papa. "I believe there is some paperwork, correct?" GranGran started to nod as Papa rose from his seat.
"Excuse me sir but," Papa started, "The children must be in agreement with this." Papa looked at Del then to Zephyr. He nodded and walked over to them. The headmaster stayed where he was and smiled at GranGran. He turned his attention to Del as she shook herself from the daze she had been in. She smiled wide.
"I want a dad!" Del blurted out. The headmaster smiled, his wrinkles bunching up by his eyes. Del beamed with happiness as she turned to Zephyr. Her smile faded as she scanned his face.
"Zeph, do you want this man to be your father?" Papa asked in a low voice. The sheriff coughed and rubbed his mustache. The silence was almost unbearable for Del. She squirmed more as she frantically searched for words to say to him. The headmaster tilted his head and took a step in the direction of Zephyr. At the sound of his footstep, Zephyr lifted his head. He looked straight at the headmaster then into the eyes of the two people that had cared for him all his life.
"Can I still see you?" he asked them in tears. They both nodded. Rubbing his eyes, he hopped off the chair and ran to them. They embraced him and he knew this was goodbye. He stepped back and GranGran moved the strand of hair from his eyes.
"We love you," GranGran said with an encouraging smile, "And we will always be there for you. Ok?" He nodded and hugged her again. "I love you," he whispered.
"We will always love you too, Zephyr," she said. With that, he let her go and said goodbye once more.
"Zephyr, if you would rather stay," the headmaster said with a lump in his throat, "I can just take Del." Del looked up at the headmaster then mouthed "Come on, Goldie" to Zephyr. He smiled at her as she too was crying. She slid off her chair and hugged him. He knew that he could never leave her. It was then he decided that it was time for a change. A new life to start over with his best friend at his side. He looked at the headmaster.
"Sir, we're an ace combo," he said with a chuckle.
"And you have to take us both," Del finished. The headmaster laughed and threw his arms around the two.
A day ago, he was Zephyr, the little colt who was destined to be an orphan forever but something changed in those small hours. He wasn't the same Zephyr anymore. True, he didn't get to see a flyer show and he still didn't have wings. This was much better. From one day to the next, he became the son of the headmaster of the Academy and the brother of his best friend. His biggest dream came true. He finally had his family.
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
I'll do what it takes ‘til I touch the sky
And I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget all the ones that I loved
I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change
And breakaway

☁ He is very tall for his age. He stands above most ponies and even above some adults. He has a beautiful gold and blue curly mane and a long, flowing tail to match. He has sky blue marks on his body representing his element. His wings are actually very uncommon. They are not regular feathered wings but they are made of a light, almost metal-like material that is hollow, allowing him to fly at amazing speeds. The base of the wings resemble a harp with the tips of the wings aligning with the "strings." He has bright tangerine eyes that sparkle when he smiles. GranGran loves his stunning eyes. She says it is a mark of excellence, a glimpse of a bright light emitting from his radiant soul. ☁
Some good:
He is a very smart and clever child.
Growing up made him independent.
He can do things on his own and
will occasionally need the help of
his best mate, Del. He takes initiative
He won't sit around and wait for things
to take their course.
He is very positive which helps him
carry on even when the going gets tough.
When he gets his mind on something,
he will not quit till it's finished.

Some bad:
Being curious is one thing that gets him into trouble.
He has a history of touching food fires
just to know why you couldn't and
knocking over tall cabinets and wardrobes
to see what was on top.
He is not outwardly mischievous but he can get
a bad reputation for destroying things.
While initiative is a good thing,
it can lead to stubbornness.
He can be very stubborn
when he doesn't get his way.
Things he would do:
He would be first in line to see a flyer show if
he had the money and he would beg for hours
to an admittance scout to be let into the Academy.
He would spend hours working on
cardboard wings then trying to attach them himself.
He would be caught chasing ducks and
butterflies in the park and helping GranGran
with the food for the other colts and
fillies at the orphanage on a regular day.
At night, he would be caught sneaking out to see Del
or sitting on the roof, scared to death
but ready to test out his homemade wings.

Things he wouldn't:
He would never be rude just for the sake of it.
He would never lie to GranGran or Papa
to their face.
He would never yell at
Del for getting in trouble
because he knows that is just her nature.
He would never give up on himself or
someone who needed him.
He would also never tell anyone
of his most personal dreams because
he wants them to come true.
He believes a dream is like a wish;
it won't become true if told.
Favorites:
Helping GranGran
Playing with Papa
Sneaking around town with Del
Saying "ace", his and Del's favorite word
The smell of mint
Watching sunrises and sunsets
Clouds
Anything flyer related
Spending time with his new dad, the headmaster

"Totally not ace" stuff:
Getting in trouble
Being told "no" or "you can't"
Being taunted by the ponies that go to the Academy
Hot and sticky summer days
Cloudless skies
Walking past the smelly old butcher shop
Seeing people sad
Stale food when he's hungry
Being hungry

Literally, the clouds of Mount Olympus☁ The Clouds of Mount Olympus is a city entirely rested on the clouds above Mount Olympus. The city is inhabited by ponies of all sizes and shapes. The city is divided into three sections: the town, the estate, and the hill. The town is where Zephyr and Del lived. It is where people of the lowest social class live and work. It is said that very few people from the town ever move up the social ladder. This belief has a huge impact on the moral of the town folk. They are usually not cheery people. They are known for being bitter and unkind. Unlike the town folk, the estate residents are a much more snobby crowd. They are immensely cheerful people, always boasting about their material possessions and inherited riches. Most students of the Academy are from the estate. They are also known to be very jealous of people who live on the hill and are very rude to those who live in the town. The people on the hill are government officials, scholars, teachers, and wealthy businessmen and women. The headmaster lives on the hill. People are considered lucky if they get a chance to visit the hill even once in their lifetime. Most cannot even afford the ticket to watch a show at Cloud Stadium, a colosseum created by the Academy. The people of the hill are very different from the town folk and the residents of the estate. They are not usually snobby about what they owe. People know who they are so there is no need to brag. They are very pleasant people to talk to and to be around. ☁
